Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on Sunday gave an inside in the INDIA alliance meeting held on July 19, and said that the INDIA Alliance has finalised its strategy ahead of Monsoon Session of Parliament, which centres around the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and statements made by US President Donald Trump.
MP Tiwari, while talking to ANI, said, "Yesterday, a detailed discussion on formulating strategy for the upcoming session regarding the crisis in which the nation has been pushed into by the BJP-NDA Government. It was a joint effort held in a conducive environment. I am happy to tell you that keeping national interest as supreme, it has been decided against the BJP's activities that are weakening the country, its democracy and economy."
MP Tiwari said that the US President Trump's statement about the five fighter jets being shot down is disturbing and added, "It has been decided to raise issues, the most important being the Pahalgam attack. To date, the traces of terrorists have not been found. Regarding Operation Sindoor, US President Donald Trump stated for the 24th time that he secured the ceasefire. A shocking statement was made that five fighter jets were shot down. The defence attache also said the same. CDS too said the same. This disturbs us."
He also mentioned that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) happening in Bihar is killing democracy and said, "In Bihar, democracy is being murdered with SIR. The manner in which India has been isolated in its foreign policy is also an issue. Even now, heinous massacres are occurring - Israel is doing this in Gaza is also an issue. The issue is also about the oppression of SC, ST, women and minorities and crimes against them. We have especially identified 8 issues. We are confident that all 24 parties (in the INDIA Alliance) will support us; even the parties who are not a part of this will support us."
The Monsoon Session of the Indian Parliament is scheduled to begin on July 21 and conclude on August 21.
During the monsoon session of Parliament, the government plans to push its legislative agenda, which includes some new bills.
The bills on the agenda of the government include Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill of 2025, Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill of 2025, Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill 2025, the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) bill 2025, the Geoheritage Sites and Geo-relics (Preservation and Maintenance) bill 2025, the Mines and Mines (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill 2025, the National Sports Governance Bill 2025 and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill 2025. The government's agenda also includes the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill, 2024, the Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024, the Indian Ports Bill, 2025, and the Income Tax Bill, 2025. The monsoon session of Parliament will continue till August 21.

'The Trump Organization's earnings from these are yet to be disclosed, but experts said, its partnerships with the biggest builders, not only allows the Trump enterprise to tap into the most lucrative markets in the world's fastest growing economy, but also brings it continuous revenue stream with no financial risk,' the Indian Express report said. Between 2012 and 2019 alone, The Trump Organization earned $11.3 million in royalties and fees from four branded projects in Pune, Mumbai, Gurugram, and Kolkata, the Indian Express report said. By 2024, that figure had jumped. Trump's own financial disclosures show $12 million in new earnings from India, $10 million of which reportedly came from the Mumbai project. Another $2.2 million came from license and royalty fees paid by developers, the report said. 'Over the last eight months, Brand Trump has been on an aggressive expansion drive in India. Soon after his election as the 47th President of the United States of America on November 5, 2024, The Trump Organization, along with its Indian partner Tribeca Developers, announced at least six projects in Gurugram, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Noida and Bengaluru, adding up to 8 million sq feet of realty development," the IE report said. Mamata slams Shah for SIR: ‘Show your parents' birth certificates first
In a scathing attack on the BJP and Union Home Minister over the detention and deportation of Bengali migrants and the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday challenged Amit Shah to produce the birth certificates of his parents. Addressing a Bhasha Andolan rally in tribal-dominated Jhargram, the TMC supremo alleged that SIR, which was recently conducted by the Election Commission in poll-bound Bihar, was a backdoor way of implementing the NRC (National Register of Citizens) in the country 'to systematically disenfranchise minorities, tribals, and opposition supporters'. 'They (ECI) are asking for the birth certificates of people's parents. Where will they get those from? I want to ask today. Do BJP leaders themselves have their parents' birth certificates? Mr Amit Shah, arrest me if I am wrong. Do you have your parents' birth certificates? Show that first. Then talk about removing people's names from the voters' list. When BJP leaders come here, we will hit the streets and protest,' she said. 'Previously, children were born at home. Where will the certificate come from? Now everything is based on 2002. Those who are demanding this, do they have their birth certificates,' she asked. Calling the citizenship notices issued to two West Bengal residents by the BJP government in Assam, 'unconstitutional and illegal', the chief minister said: 'Notices are being served to members of the Tapashili and Rajbanshi communities from Assam… We strongly condemn this. New Delhi: Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir is heading to the United States once again this week. His visit comes barely two months after his last trip to Washington. He is expected to attend the U.S. Central Command's change-of-command ceremony. But the real story may not be the ceremony itself. It is the timing and the conversations already in motion. In June, Munir had lunch with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. The meeting lasted two hours. No civilian leader from Pakistan was present. It was a first. Never before had a Pakistani military chief been hosted in the Oval Office on his own. According to insiders, their discussion touched on trade, economic ties and the future of cryptocurrency. In his signature style, Trump did not hold back praise. He said, 'The reason I had him here was I wanted to thank him for not going into the war and ending it…' The remark referred to the May conflict between India and Pakistan, four days of cross-border drone and missile exchanges that stopped just short of full-scale war. India later said it acted alone. But Trump claimed credit for helping stop it. Munir seemed to agree. In his own words, he said Trump deserved a Nobel Prize for 'averting nuclear war' between the two nations. The backdrop to that crisis was Operation Sindoor. India launched the operation in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians. According to Indian officials, nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were targeted and more than 100 militants were killed in the offensive. Trump's role in managing tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad has stirred debate. India has insisted that the eventual ceasefire came after direct talks between the two countries' Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO). No foreign mediation, New Delhi said, was involved. Still, Trump has not stepped back from the narrative. In fact, he has doubled down. Alongside security talks, he also unveiled a trade agreement with Islamabad. The deal opens access for U.S. companies to Pakistan's oil reserves. But the fine print carries a twist. Trump signed an executive order imposing a 19% tariff on Pakistani exports, lower than the previous 29% rate, but still steep. The trade talks have been branded as a package of both relief and pressure. Munir's return to Washington now comes in that context. A second visit in two months signals something crucial: sustained military diplomacy, with political overtones. Whether the visit brings new deals, more pressure or another round of handshakes remains to be seen. But for now, Pakistan's most powerful man is going back to the United States, and the conversations are far from over.
