Emmerdale fans ‘work out' who newcomer Kev is looking for
Yesterday, it was revealed that Chris Coghill will play mysterious newcomer Kev in the ITV soap.
The actor, best known to soap fans as evil paedophile Tony King in BBC One's EastEnders, will become a permanent fixture in the Yorkshire Dales from September.
Though Emmerdale bosses are remaining tight-lipped as to the full scope of Kev's intentions, they have let slip that he arrives searching for one villager in particular…but who? And why?
On the new addition to the village, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw said: 'We are delighted that someone of Chris' calibre has joined our cast.
'Kev has a strong connection to one of our characters and it's safe to say his arrival is going to be a massive surprise that will have major repercussions for some of our villagers.'
With knowledge that Kev is linked to one resident of the village, audience members have wasted no time in theorising who that person will be.
Taking to social media platform X, fans have shared multiple character names.
Top of the list is Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). With the audience yet to discover just what he went through while in prison, some are wondering if Kev will share a connection with him.
'I bet it's something to do with Robert's time in prison', this fan wondered.
Elsewhere, some believe Kev might end up being Lewis Barton's (Bradley Riches) biological father, while others have remembered that Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) will be part of a huge storyline in the Autumn, and are curious Kev might be involved with that.
'Is he Mack's upcoming running story?', a user of X shared. More Trending
'Is he a former cellmate just out prison like Robert looking for him to cause him problems? Or someone John has known or has had issue with in past looking to kill the killer or a side kick to Ray? Do not hurt #Robron or #Mackron.'

Moira enters a deal with the devil in Emmerdale as she takes a huge risk
In new Emmerdale scenes, Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) faces a crossroads as Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) approaches her with a business proposal that could save Moira's struggling farm, but not without some hesitation. Celia, recognising the financial pressures both women are under, drops by the Dingle farm to pitch a partnership. She suggests they combine forces: Moira would supply beef from her farm, while Celia would market and sell her poultry products to a reliable supplier. The plan aims to increase income for both and provide stability amid tough market conditions. Celia explains that her outgoings have increased by £1000 a month, thanks to her sly landlord, and she's aware of Moira's financial position. She sees a win-win opportunity for both women to solve both their problems. More Trending Initially, Moira is cautious. Known for her independence and strong will, she is wary of entering a deal that could put her farm's future in uncertain hands. The idea of partnering with someone else, especially amid existing challenges, doesn't come easily to her. However, after careful consideration of the risks and benefits, Moira agrees to the venture, seeing it as a necessary step to keep the farm afloat. Following the deal, Moira shares the hopeful news with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), her long-time adversary, and appeals to him to put their feud aside for the sake of the farm. She asks Joe to draw a line under past conflicts, emphasising the importance of unity in difficult times. View More » This partnership shows a different side of Moira, one that's willing to put pride aside and take a chance when it matters most. With so much at stake, it's clear she's ready to fight for the farm's future, even if it means trusting others and stepping into uncertain territory. Emmerdale cruel John Sugden twist 'foreshadows' final showdown with Robert
Emmerdale's latest episode saw John Sugden's cruel plan to keep Robert Sugden on side revealed to viewers, and with that it may have teased a final showdown for the brothers There was a worrying scene on Emmerdale on Friday night that saw John Sugden seemingly plot revenge on his brother Robert Sugden. Despite them appearing to clear the air, or at least come to an agreement, John's true agenda was revealed to fans. This week John was left in hospital after Robert attacked him during a tense showdown. Robert had no idea though that John was recording the moment he struck him at the back of the head with a spanner. Viewers learned this on Friday, when the end of the episode showed John watching it back on his laptop. It comes amid fans believing Robert's own real plan was given away in the episode, and he might not be playing nicely has he's claimed. We'd already seen John feign fear over Robert visiting him, before Robert practically begged his villainous brother for forgiveness. John threatened him, telling him that if he went back on his word in regards to dropping his vendetta as well as leaving Aaron Dingle alone, he "knew" what he would do. Robert obviously didn't know that John had set up the attack after goading him, leading him to his camper van where a camera was recording. In the footage we only see the moment John walks towards home and is struck by Robert with the tool. John falls to the ground as Robert watches on. It likely also caught the moment Robert wiped the tool and hid it, but even the attack alone is enough for John to get Robert locked up given the crime he spent six years in prison for. Fans had actually noticed the mirroring of events, as in 2019 Robert attacked Lee Posner in similar circumstances. Robert had confronted Lee after he raped his sister Victoria Sugden, and Lee goaded him until Robert snapped. John orchestrated Robert's latest crime, and now he has him exactly where he needs him. But John is ready and waiting for his brother to turn on him again, keeping hold of the video evidence to use if necessary to get rid of Robert. But could it all be foreshadowing a major showdown? Maybe the current battle between the brothers is just the beginning and a taster of John's comeuppance at the hands of Robert. Robert more than any other characters is well and truly onto John and his dark crimes. If he manages to find the proof and expose him, John will hopefully face his downfall and be punished for his actions, including the murder of Nate Robinson. So will it come down to another John vs Robert battle at the end, and was the attack and John's actions, with John threatening revenge if Robert goes against him, all a massive hint of what's ahead? If so, it could be a major tease that the storyline will conclude with Robert taking John down as fans are hoping for, and John's final attempts to come out on top. The remaining Islanders played a game of Knowing Me, Knowing You - testing how well the couples know each other. 4 Love Island's Meg and Dejon argued after the latest challenge Credit: Eroteme 4 Their feud continues into the following episode Credit: ITV 4 Dejon picked Yas as the girl he'd couple up with - if Meg wasn't in the villa Credit: Eroteme Dejon and Meg emerged as joint winners and therefore the "strongest couple". Despite this, the pair found themselves in an argument after the challenge. The boys had to answer which girl they'd couple up with - if their actual partner wasn't in the villa. Meg was left shocked when Dejon picked Yasmin, despite recent tensions with her, Shakira and Toni. The couple bickered as Dejon insisted he'd told Meg this before - but his girlfriend argued she didn't remember the conversation. In a first-look at tonight's instalment, it would appear they are still feuding. Speaking to Conor, Meg shares: "I'm not just gonna stand there. He's put Yas on a board again. "I take so much heat from these three girls. You've put on a board that you would recouple with Yas." Conor then interjected, saying Dejon "may have taken the question too literal". Meg added: "It's a challenge, I don't care about it. Love Island fans 'work out' why Dejon turned on Meg as villa's strongest couple hit the rocks days before final "At the end of the day, we're boyfriend and girlfriend. It doesn't matter." Dejon then approached, remarking: "You're going to stop talking as I'm walking past?" Hearing this, Meg repeated to her boyfriend what she'd just told Conor. She then continued: "He just gets so defensive over everything." Later on, the couple are sat together as Meg says: "I had a little chat with Yas. "Obviously, I don't know whether you know from the boys, but she wrote your name on the board yesterday. LOVE ISLAND 2025 - ALL the dumped stars so far LOVE Island 2025 is in its penultimate week.
