Fact Check: Karan Veer Mehra NOT Playing Villain Opposite Ranveer Singh In Don 3

Don 3, the highly anticipated reboot directed by Farhan Akhtar, has been creating waves ever since it was announced. While Ranveer Singh is officially stepping into the shoes of the new Don, and Kriti Sanon is reportedly finalised as the female lead, a slew of rumours about the rest of the casting continue to flood social media. One such claim was that Bigg Boss fame Karan Veer Mehra would be playing the main villain in the film. However, that's far from the truth.
According to a new report by Pinkvilla, there is no truth to the rumours about Karan Veer Mehra's involvement in Don 3. In fact, he is not even being considered for the antagonist's role. A source revealed that earlier, actor Vikrant Massey was in advanced talks to take on the negative role opposite Ranveer Singh. However, the deal eventually fell through.
Currently, the casting process for the film's primary antagonist is still ongoing. The makers are reportedly looking for a younger actor who can bring both style and depth to the action-packed role. Several names from within and outside Bollywood are being considered, but no final decision has been made yet.
So far, only Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon are officially locked in for the lead roles in Don 3. The film marks Farhan Akhtar's return to directing after 15 years. His last outing as a director was the Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra-starrer Don 2 in 2011, which remains a fan favourite.
Don 3 is currently in the pre-production phase, with shooting expected to commence in January 2026. The film will require an intense prep period for Ranveer Singh, especially considering the demanding nature of the character.
Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment, Don 3 is expected to hit theatres in 2027, depending on production timelines.
