Referring to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's remarks on Chandrababu Naidu, the MLC said, 'There is nothing wrong in what our leader said and it has been misinterpreted and blown out of proportion by TDP-pro media. Our party chief said 'where was the need for Chandrababu Naidu to resort to such undemocratic process even at this age' and it was projected and given undue importance by a section of the media.'
TDP has made a mockery of the election process by misusing officials and police and it has sent a wrong message to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Instead of seeking votes based on the achievements of the 14 months of governance, the government resorted to rigging, he criticised.
The visual of DIG knocking at the door of Avinash Reddy indicates the way elections were held and people saw how the in-charge minister and other TDP leaders have been roaming freely during the bypolls, while YSRCP leaders were not allowed to move and their voters were not allowed to exercise their franchise, he expressed concern. The MLC was accompanied by YSRCP district president KK Raju, former IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath, former MLA Karanam Dharmasri were present.

TDP, JSP leaders recall freedom fighters' vision, stress need to uphold democratic values
Marking the 79th Independence Day, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State president Palla Srinivasa Rao paid rich tributes to freedom fighters, reflecting on their sacrifices that liberated India from British rule. Speaking at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, Guntur district, he questioned whether the nation had truly met the aspirations envisioned at the dawn of freedom. Citing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's emphasis on evolving laws to promote social equality, he warned that lacking legal understanding could weaken democracy. Free choice and competitive elections, he said, were non-negotiable pillars of the system. Recalling former CM N.T. Rama Rao's vision, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the TDP was founded to protect the self-respect of Telugus and guide society towards justice and equity. He stressed that leadership should serve society, not personal gain, and should align with the ideals of the freedom struggle to build a society free of economic and social inequities. At the Jana Sena Party (JSP) office near Mangalagiri, MLC P. Hari Prasad said India's rise owed much to leaders like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Chandrasekhar Azad, and Bhagat Singh. He noted that JSP founder K. Pawan Kalyan drew inspiration from such leaders and remained committed to constitutional goals. He recalled the JSP's 100% strike rate in the 2024 general elections—winning all 21 Assembly seats it contested in alliance with the TDP and BJP—saying people trusted Mr. Kalyan's leadership to fulfil their aspirations. APMSC Chairman Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, K. Siva Srinivas, B. Rajasekhar, Dasari Kiran, Ganji Chiranjeevi, Chandu Sambasiva Rao, and other leaders attended the events.

Chair troubles Kadapa MLA again
The Independence Day celebrations held at Kadapa on Friday (August 15) left a bitter aftertaste for Kadapa MLA and Government whip Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy, with the district administration reportedly failing to provide her with a chair among the delegates in the gallery. Along with her husband R. Srinivasa Reddy, who is a member of the TDP Political bureau and the party's district president, the MLA arrived at the venue only to find the designated seats occupied by officials and their family members. After standing for a few minutes at the venue, the couple left without making much fuss. Ms. Madhavi Reddy termed the incident 'a clear violation of the protocol' and said she would complain about the issue to the Speaker and the Privileges Committee. Saying that she had no hard feelings towards anyone, the Government Whip, however, insisted that her seat deserved respect. A video of the incident was widely circulated on social media platforms, triggering a debate. It may be recalled that the MLA had hit the headlines in the past, when she was allegedly denied a chair in the Kadapa Municipal Council meeting, where she stood next to the YSRCP Mayor's chair throughout the entire proceedings.
