Botcha terms ZPTC by-polls day as ‘black day'
Visakhapatnam: YSRCP MLC Botcha Satyanarayana said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu redefined the electoral process in the ZPTC bypolls by misusing power. Terming the ZPTC bypolls day as a 'dark day' in democracy at a media conference held in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, the MLC pointed out that the election process in Pulivendula and Vontimitta ended up as fake as genuine voters were prevented from polling. 'MP Avinash Reddy was arrested before Pulivendula ZPTC bypoll, while the TDP cadre was roaming around freely during elections,' Botcha Satyanarayana said. Referring to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's remarks on Chandrababu Naidu, the MLC said, 'There is nothing wrong in what our leader said and it has been misinterpreted and blown out of proportion by TDP-pro media. Our party chief said 'where was the need for Chandrababu Naidu to resort to such undemocratic process even at this age' and it was projected and given undue importance by a section of the media.' TDP has made a mockery of the election process by misusing officials and police and it has sent a wrong message to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Instead of seeking votes based on the achievements of the 14 months of governance, the government resorted to rigging, he criticised. The visual of DIG knocking at the door of Avinash Reddy indicates the way elections were held and people saw how the in-charge minister and other TDP leaders have been roaming freely during the bypolls, while YSRCP leaders were not allowed to move and their voters were not allowed to exercise their franchise, he expressed concern. The MLC was accompanied by YSRCP district president KK Raju, former IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath, former MLA Karanam Dharmasri were present.

Botcha points out that state's law and order maintenance has gone haywire
Visakhapatnam: YSRCP MLC Botcha Satyanarayana pointed out that anarchy prevails in the state with the coalition's inefficient governance. Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam on Friday, he said that the state suffers from lack of law and order and the ruling party resorts to making derogatory remarks against women. 'The crime rate has gone up in the state after the coalition government came to power. Rapes and assaults against women and minors have increased in an alarming manner. Also, ganja peddlers are getting the support of the government,' the MLC criticised. During YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's Nellore, Botcha Satyanarayana recalled, police imposed unwarranted restrictions and dug up roads to prevent people from gathering. 'It clearly indicates that the government is scared of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and there is growing intolerance among people,' he stated. The language being used by TDP leaders against women leaders including RK Roja and ZP chairperson U Haritha shows their audacity and respect for women, the MLC mentioned. Vizag has been gravely exploited by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his coterie by allotting prime lands at low prices. 'Lands worth Rs 1,500 crore are being given on long lease to Lulu Group. Former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy promoted IT in Vizag while the coalition is merely exploiting the resources,' he said. Students did not get fee reimbursement, farmers are not getting MSP and there is no crop insurance or input subsidy, while women are cheated by false promises, the MLC added.

Jagan's popularity unshaken, says YSRCP leader at meet
Kurasala Kannababu, regional coordinator for the YSR Congress Party in the North Andhra region, urged all-party leaders and activists on Thursday to highlight the failures of the Chandrababu Naidu-led government and raise concerns over the partial implementation of the 'Super-Six' assurances made prior to the 2024 general elections. He, along with ex-minister Botcha Satyanarayana and YSRCP-Vizianagaram district and zilla parishad chairperson Majji Srinivasa Rao, reviewed the party activities in all mandals and villages over the last one year. Speaking at the event, he said that within a year, the NDA government had failed on all fronts and had lost the support of the people. He claimed that the participation of large crowds at the recent meetings held in Kurnool, Prakasam and Guntur districts by ex-chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy demonstrates that his image remains intact. Mr. Botcha Satyanarayana alleged that the government had intentionally ignored Mr. Jagan's security though it was supposed to ensure adequate security as per Z+ category norms. Under the 'Babu Surity-Mosam Guarantee' programme designed by the YSRCP high command, Mr. Majji Srinivasa Rao asked all leaders to take up door-to-door campaign to explain the government's failures. Former MLAs Kadubandi Srinivasa Rao, Sambangi China Venkata Appalanaidu and others were attended the meeting.
