The first season of The Last of Us was haunting, terrifying, and moving in equal measure.So there's a lot to live up to when season two kicks off on Monday.The TV adaptation of the hit video game stars Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal as lead characters Ellie and Joel.Having dodged zombies and ruthless militia in an arduous journey across America in season one, they are now living in Jackson, Wyoming - but danger is never far away.I've had a sneak preview, and can tell you that the first episode alone is fraught with tension.And the reviews, so far, have been glowing.Empire gives it five stars, calling it 'television at its peak', while The Telegraph - which also gives it five stars - says it is 'superb'.

It's an intense, immersive experience watching Alex Garland's latest film Warfare, which plunges you almost immediately into the thick of a US military surveillance mission which goes wrong, in Iraq in 2006.The film's ensemble cast includes Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3's Will Poulter and Heartstopper's Kit Connor. They told the BBC they bonded at a tough military bootcamp, where they learned military jargon, gun safety and were pushed beyond their limits.The cast also shaved each other's heads before filming and got shared tattoos afterwards, speaking about how they wanted to mark what had been a "formative" experience, building lasting friendships.Based on the memories of soldiers on the surveillance mission in Ramadi, an area controlled by Al Qaeda, the cast also includes Reservation Dogs' D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Shōgun's Cosmo Jarvis, Stranger Things and the forthcoming Beatles biopic's Joseph Quinn, and Riverdale's Charles Melton.Warfare is out in cinemas on Friday.

Gaming. Waiting. Two things that often go hand in hand when it comes to new releases (GTA 6, anyone?).But one wait comes to an end this week with the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PlayStation 5. First released on Xbox and PC last December, it was one of 2024's best-reviewed games.It was praised for its compelling stealth gameplay, puzzling and immersive environments, as well as an uncanny performance from celebrated video game actor Troy Baker in the main role. His portrayal of the world's luckiest archaeologist even got the seal of approval from original Indy Harrison Ford.PlayStation fans had to hold out because The Great Circle's Swedish developer MachineGames is part of ZeniMax, one of the many gaming companies bought up by Microsoft. The formerly bitter rival has softened its stance on exclusivity of late – a move which has upset some Xbox fans but pleased PS5 owners.Also out this week is Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2, the concluding part of the Yellowjackets-meets-Stranger-Things narrative adventure from the original makers of the Life is Strange series. There's no platform-exclusive shenanigans with this one – it lands on PS5, Xbox and PC from Tuesday.

In this week's episode, which aired on BBC One on Sunday, June 8, Janie (played by Gwyneth Keyworth) was tasked with solving the murder of best man Gethin Bennion the night before the wedding. Gethin's body was found in the graveyard of the church, which some may have spotted as the grounds of St Illtud's Church. And a bit later fans got to see inside the beautiful church. Some may say it is this church that put Llantwit Major on the map. Around the fifth century St Illtud established the oldest seat of Christian learning in Britain. Now the place is a charming little town with its cobbled streets, quaint shops, and eateries and is only a stone's throw away from the seaside. Article continues below Known in Welsh as Llanilltud Fawr this town is about a 40-minute drive from the Welsh capital and about a 25-minute drive from Barry. Its nearby Cwm Colhuw Beach (or Llantwit Major Beach) is the perfect place to go surfing or for a coastal walk. For a decent walk in the area start your journey at the beach car park before embarking on the path that offers spectacular views of the Bristol Channel, 12th-century castle, limestone crags, cliffs and caves hollowed out by the sea, before reaching the Nash Point Lighthouse. Radio DJ Scott Mills revealed he has 'made it' after he took over the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show after previously 'risking' his health from working too much over two decades Scott Mills has revealed he is finally 'financially secure' and has 'made it' after he took over the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show after Zoe Ball left the post. Scott, 51, took over the position in January from Zoe, who left to focus on her family. Opening up about his career and his new ability to say 'no' to work, after missing sleep for jobs, Scott told The Telegraph: 'For the first time, I really do believe in myself. You have to look at the facts. They've put you on the breakfast show, you must be doing something right.' It comes after he admitted to taking on 'too much' work, sometimes at a 'risk' to his own health. Reflecting on his jam-packed career, Scott said: 'I was working way too much, because my mindset was that you don't know when it might end. There was one freshers' week where my schedule for playing in student unions was: Monday: Aberdeen, Tuesday: Glasgow, Wednesday: Edinburgh.' While Scott said he 'enjoyed' taking every opportunit y he got for two decades, 'life is different now' and he 'doesn't want to' do that anymore. Last month, Scott opened up to the Mirror about the hard work that goes into the show and that Zoe gave him a warning when he took over the job, but he still describes it as his 'happy place'. He said: 'The show is a lot, it's hard work. It's a treadmill every day. I remember when Zoe finished, she said to me: 'Look, doing breakfast on Radio 2 is quite a lot. It's quite demanding, and you've just always got to be on." He added: "She was right. The amount of guests we have - it's continuous. When she said it to me, I was like: 'I'm ready'. And I am, it's my happy place." The Mail previously reported that Scott took a small pay rise for presenting the show, however, it was significantly less than his predecessor, Zoe. While it is reported that Scott is earning approximately £450,000 a year, Zoe was reportedly on £950,000. Zoe confirmed her departure from the early morning slot back in November, telling listeners it was 'time to start a new chapter' before she left in January. However, that wasn't the end of her journey on the radio. On air, she told her listeners: "After six years of fun times alongside you all on the Breakfast Show, I've decided it's time to step away from the early alarm call and start a new chapter'. She added: "I just want to say I'm so grateful to my incredible boss ladies... they have always been so supportive of me, especially in this job and particularly this year." Just months after her final Breakfast Show, Zoe has already returned to the Radio 2 line-up with a brand new Saturday afternoon show. The new programme launched on May 3 and will continue to air weekly. According to Radio 2 bosses, it will deliver "the best songs and chat for a Saturday". Zoe herself says listeners can expect "lots of laughs" and upbeat favourites.

The Brink's-Mat robbery was the largest bank heist of its time, involving a colourful cast of characters in executing the crime. For those needing a refresher, the entire first series is available to binge-watch on BBC iPlayer now. Series two follows the police investigation into recovering the stolen loot after it emerged that only half was retrieved and the rest seemed to disappear into thin air.
