Shalin Bhanot Recalls Meeting Shah Rukh Khan: 'He Was Shooting At That Time...'

Actor and former 'Bigg Boss 16" contestant Shalin Bhanot recalled meeting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, while having a conversation with Farah Khan. He also spoke about Salman Khan and tagged him as a 'caring person".
Shalin featured on Farah Khan's YouTube show, where the two discussed about the stars, Bigg Boss and gorged on soya chaap. While giving a house tour to Farah, Shalin showed a picture posing with SRK and said: 'I take a lot of pride in this picture. It is with Shah Rukh sir… I just wanted to meet Shah Rukh sir… So, Morani bhai made me meet SRK sir in the JW Marriott."
Shalin revealed at that time SRK was busy shooting for the 2016 film 'Fan", which featured the superstar in a dual role as Aryan Khanna, a film star, and his obsessive fan and lookalike, Gaurav Chandna. 'He was shooting at that time and he was crossing. He was shooting for Fan. He had a prosthetic at that time so this was the only day he didn't have any prosthetics," Shalin told Farah.
Farah then spoke about seeing Shalin on 'Bigg Boss 16." She said: 'I thought that Shalin has grown up. But when I saw him in Bigg Boss. Two people can drive me crazy. One is Sajid. Because he is my brother since childhood. And in Bigg Boss, I thought of shaking up Shalin and asking him what he is doing."
To which, Shalin replied: 'But ma'am, one thing happened in Bigg Boss. Sajid came into my life. He is my mentor. I call him BB."
Farah said that Sajid Khan and Shalin 'had a lot of fights in Bigg Boss".
'And ma'am, you won't believe, since the day Bigg Boss ended I am telling you the truth. It doesn't happen once in a week or 10-15 days. That Sajid doesn't message me from the front. Sajid only says one thing 'You okay?' I say, yes, BB. BB is bade bhaiya," Shalin added.
Shalin and Farah then laughed about the viral hand gestures the actor used to do in Bigg Boss at the time of Weekend Ka Vaar in confusion. The actor recalled how the show's host Salman Khan still does it when he sees Shalin. 'Salman sir was coming from a distance. And I was standing. And the moment he entered, he saw me and he was like (doing the hand gesture)…. I said, 'when do I do this?'"
Farah said that Salman used to love doing that. Shalin replied: 'And he still does. He still loves doing that…. But Salman sir loves me a lot and he is such a caring person."

It might sound bizarre, but a 20-year-old has turned this wild idea into reality. Daniel Jackson, originally from Britain, has declared himself the president of a self-proclaimed country on a disputed piece of land between Croatia and Serbia. This tiny nation, called the Free Republic of Verdis, has its own flag, a cabinet, its own currency, and even around 400 registered citizens! Jackson discovered the unclaimed patch of land, locally known as 'Pocket Three', during a border dispute between the neighbouring nations. This forested area of under 125 acres lies on the banks of the Danube River. SWNS, Jackson, who also has Australian roots, officially declared Verdis an independent republic on May 30, 2019. A digital designer by profession, Jackson makes a living building virtual worlds on the gaming platform Roblox. At 18, he began formalising Verdis, with laws, a flag, and a cabinet. The official languages are English, Croatian, and Serbian, and the euro is used as currency. The only way to reach Verdis is by boat from the Croatian city of Osijek. Despite the excitement, building a nation has not been without challenges. In October 2023, Croatian police detained Jackson and a few settlers, later deporting them and banning them from entering Croatia for life. 'They didn't give any reason. Just said we were a threat to national security," Jackson shared. Now operating 'in exile', Jackson continues to run Verdis remotely and insists he wants peaceful relations with Croatia. 'I hope to return one day. If successful, I'll step down and organise proper elections. I don't care about power, I just want to be an ordinary citizen. It's been a surreal journey, and I'm proud of what we've created." Who Can Become a Verdisian? Verdis began with just four people but has now grown to 400 official citizens, with thousands more expressing interest. While the micro-nation issues its own passports, Jackson warns against using them for international travel, though a few reportedly have. 'It's a very small nation, so we're cautious about whom we approve," he explained. 'We prioritise skills like medical or policing experience." Neena Gupta Says Viv Richards Wasn't In Touch With Masaba For Years: 'I Knew How He Was'
Neena Gupta talks about raising Masaba alone and how Vivian Richards was mostly absent through her childhood. In 1989, when Neena Gupta found out she was expecting a child, she was overjoyed — but she also knew the road ahead wouldn't be easy. Choosing to have the baby as a single woman was a courageous decision, made more complex by the fact that the father was West Indies cricket legend Vivian Richards, and they weren't married. In a revealing 2015 interview, as quoted in ETimes she spoke openly about raising her daughter Masaba alone after her relationship with cricket star Vivian Richards ended. She recalled how hard it was when Masaba felt abandoned. 'I told her how her father is not a family man and how he was like this and this. In the beginning, she would feel bad that Vivian was not in touch with her till the age of about 20, but then he got in touch. His problem also is that he is not net savvy and so, it is very difficult to get in touch with him." Neena described the emotional rollercoaster of Richards' unpredictable involvement. 'Sometimes, he would call her on her birthday and sometimes, he would not call for even three years. Sometimes, he would come here and meet and sometimes not. By then, I knew him and how he was." She added, 'If I told him I needed something, he would go mad finding it to bring it for me, but on his own, he would not bring anything. He is a person who cannot express his emotions." Despite the instability, Neena held no bitterness. She shared a touching memory from a match in Jaipur, 'I saw him almost crying and I liked that about him. He is a very nice guy, down‑to‑earth, disciplined, but you can expect only that much from him. I feel that God gave me my father instead of him." After Masaba was born, Vivian Richards stayed as involved as he could. He was married, and because they lived in different countries, their relationship was not easy and changed over time. 'Our relationship continued on and off for a few years and we had some beautiful moments and also some ugly ones. It was long distance and a very different kind of relationship," Neena Gupta had written in her memoir, Sach Kahun Toh. Masaba Gupta now shares a close relationship with her father, Vivian Richards.
