The Story Of The BuzzFeed Swifties

Buzz Feed12-04-2025
Hey Guys!!! I know it's weird for me to post off my Friday only schedule. But, this post needed to be done, because it's not just by me. This is a post consisting of FOUR stories from REAL Swifties here on BuzzFeed!!!
Okay, so here is an explanation of how this works.
I posted a form back in November or December 2024 (I can't really remember which one lol). What I mean is, it's been open for a while. I only got three entries. If you didn't get in this, I'm sorry. FEEL FREE TO POST YOUR STORY IN THE COMMENTS!!!! The original post didn't get that many views so it's, fine if you didn't come across it. Anyway, I took the three stories and mine to make this post.
This one is from @Swiftie_Core here on BuzzFeed!!!
So my story… I didn't always like Taylor swift. You see, back in the 2010s, I knew shake it off, it seemed kinda annoying to me but that's like the only song I knew by her back then. I didn't like her because I just thought she got into celeb drama a lot (without even looking into it) and just wrote broke up songs. Even though I hated to admit it (in the past) though, I did like I Knew You Were Trouble Then in 2021 or 2022 - something like that, I heard bad blood for the first time. I was sucked in, at first my friend was just talking about it one day and I was like: 'ugh that song? Didn't she write it about Katy Perry or something.' But somehow (I don't know when or why or how) I listened to bad blood and I was like - 'hang on, this isn't actually that bad. I love this.' I had it on repeat. Then I heard Look What You Made Me Do, sucked in, replayed it over and over. I heard ready for it and then Midnights came out. Her songs: Anti-Hero, bejeweled, karma and midnight rain played on the music station I listened to. I became obsessed with anti hero. Then suddenly in 2023, I happened to know all her albums, off by heart, knew more songs, etc. I became an official swiftie around mid/late 2023 - early 2024. I was so upset I didn't get tickets to the eras tour. So now I'm a full swiftie who loves her.
Next, from someone named Bates. (They didn't put a BuzzFeed account)

I'm young enough that the first album I can actually remember dropping was 1989. Before then, I'd only heard her more popular songs (I Knew You Were Trouble, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Love Story, You Belong With Me, Back to December, Sparks Fly, Mean, and Our Song were about it, those music videos were on repeat in my house). 1989 was the first time I actually listened to an entire album all the way through. I still wouldn't call myself a Swiftie at the time, though. Then, for Christmas, my parents got me tickets to the reputation stadium tour. Seeing her live was a turning point for me, and I've been a huge fan of all her music ever since! (Also, I saw her perform at Arrowhead, which, considering her current boyfriend, is pretty cool!)

I was introduced to Taylor last year! Before that I didn't really like her, but once I started listening to her music I fell in love. The depth of her songs and the lyrical way she write them is fascinating and so magical! She is a huge inspiration in my life, and of course so are her 3 cats 🤭. My favorite album is Reputation (of course) and my favorite song by her right now is The Story Of Us because it's just so good!!!!! If you haven't listened to it yet you should check it out!
Finally, here's mine,

I first became a swiftie in mid 2014. I was five years old in my Dad's car. I heard "Blank Space" and I LOVED IT!!!! I would call it "Starbuck Lover". I made my Dad download it on his phone. I soon learned more songs for example, "Shake It Off", "Bad Blood", "Style", and "Wildest Dreams". Later, my mom made a Taylor playlist for me. The playlist had Taylor's previous hits like, YBWM and WANEGBT. I would always say "play Taywor". Soon after the Bad Blood music video came out, I found it on YouTube when my mom gave me her phone to watch videos. It was my favorite thing. I watched "Bad Blood" for hours on loop. It kept me calm and quiet (I was VERY hyperactive as a child lol). I actually asked to go to the 1989 World Tour, but my parents said I was too young (I was six). I only listened to hits and my CDs until about 2022. Then, I learned all of her songs and learned so much about her as a person. It's crazy to think it has been TEN YEARS of my SWIFTIENESS!!! Now I buy all her albums on CD. I sadly was unable to attend the Eras Tour. But, I am saving to go to her next tour whenever she goes back on tour. I really love the swiftie community. I was often bullied before at school, so the swiftie community made me feel like I had friends who I could relate to about Taylor's music and just TAYLOR HERSELF. Taylor continues to amaze me more everyday. I can say that I am a swiftie forever & always!!!
I hope these stories inspired you in some way. I hope you enjoyed reading them. FEEL FREE TO POST YOURS IN THE COMMENTS!!! It's always fun to hear from other Swifties.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh skipped Princess Diana's funeral because their resemblance was ‘too upsetting': report

Too close for comfort. Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, allegedly skipped Princess Diana's funeral because the pair looked too much alike. Author Sean Smith made the surprising claim in his new biography about the 60-year-old duchess, 'Sophie: Saving the Royal Family,' which was published July 17. Tim Graham Photo Library via Getty Images 'She had an obvious and reasonable excuse: a friend at the palace explained, 'Sophie decided it would be too upsetting for the crowd if she went,'' Smith wrote. Advertisement ''She's well aware that she looks like Princess Diana from a distance and made her decision in a caring and thoughtful way,'' he added. ''The royal family fully supported.'' Besides sharing Diana's signature cropped blonde hair, Sophie also has blue eyes that resemble those of the late princess. 9 Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, visits the Groundswell Regenerative Agriculture Festival at Lannock Farm, Weston, on July 3, 2025, in Hitchin, England. 'I don't deny that we do look alike,' she said in the 1990s, per Daily Express. 'But I couldn't ever compete with Diana's image.' 'I'm not Diana,' Sophie added at the time. 9 Sophie Rhys-Jones attending a concert gala for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's 50th wedding anniversary. Tim Graham Photo Library via Getty Images Princess Diana tragically died on Aug. 31, 1997, after a car accident in Paris. She was 37. The beloved royal was later honored in a Westminster Abbey service attended by more than 2,000 people on Sept. 6, 1997. While one million people were estimated to have lined the route of Diana's funeral procession through London, another 2 billion people were estimated to have watched on TV. 9 Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, during Trooping The Colour 2025 on June 14, 2025, in London, England. UK Press via Getty Images At the time, Sophie – then known only by her maiden name, Sophie Rhys-Jones – was dating Queen Elizabeth's youngest son, Prince Edward. The pair announced their engagement two years after Diana's death, and married at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on June 19, 1999. After embracing her new role as a full-time working royal, Sophie and Edward welcomed two children: Lady Louise Windsor, now 21, and James, the Earl of Wessex, now 17. Advertisement 9 Prince Edward and Sophie married at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on June 19, 1999. Tim Graham Photo Library via Getty Images But Sophie's time as a royal has not been without controversy. In March 2023, Prince Edward and Sophie's royal titles changed from the Earl and Countess of Wessex to the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh following King Charles' ascension to the throne. Sophie's new title put her at a higher rank than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Sophie was said to be 'relieved' about the royal change. Advertisement 9 Sophie Rhys-Jones at the Guildhall in London for the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards World Fellowship Ball. Tim Graham Photo Library via Getty Images 'She no longer has to curtsy to someone in the family who has not only left royal duties but has spent the past three years criticizing the institution that Sophie works so hard to support,' a royal source claimed at the time. Then, in May 2023, an 81-year-old great-grandmother was killed after she was struck by a police motorcycle escorting Sophie through West London. One month later, Sophie faced backlash from royal fans after she allegedly scolded Prince William and Princess Kate's daughter, Princess Charlotte, during the Trooping the Colour ceremony.
