Prue Leith's update on Great British Bake Off exit rumours

It comes as The Masked Singer star was replaced by Caroline Waldegrave as a judge alongside Paul Hollywood on the latest series of the Stand Up 2 Cancer Celebrity Bake Off specials, which left fans concerned.
Earlier this week, Prue appeared on ITV's Lorraine to speak about her role as guest chef at Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire this month, as she prepares to head a banquet for hundreds of people.
A post shared by Dame Prue Leith (@prueleith)
But she also addressed her future on Bake Off and explained: 'I keep being asked if I'm leaving.
'This is because I left the celebrity [version]. I stopped doing that last year because I just hadn't had a holiday in the summer for eight years. I've only given up Celebrity [Bake Off]."
Confirming she is still a huge part of the original baking show, described as 'mother of them all', Prue added: 'I still do The Great American Bake Off, which we are filming at the moment, and I still do The Great British Bake Off, which I love, and is the mother of them all."
Revealing why the 85-year-old has no plans on going anywhere just yet, Prue commented: "It's the best job in telly. It's absolutely the best job in telly, I don't have to learn lines, I don't have to have a script. I don't have to rehearse. I just walk on and eat cake."
You can watch Prue's full Loraine interview on ITVX.
Cherish Finden is reportedly set to take over Prue's role on the celebrity Bake Off specials in 2026, following Caroline stepping in this year, according to The Sun.

ITV previously confirmed the return of the very popular Meet The Family segment, set to air in the lead-up to the final. The feature, which sees Islanders reunited with their family members and friends inside the villa, has long been a staple of the series. On Tuesday, fans weren't disappointed as Leslie, dressed in a black bandeau dress adorned with a pink petal pattern came to chat to Toni and her Love Island partner, Cach. Shortly before the reunion, she took to her TikTok page to address the mounting speculation she was taking legal action against the broadcaster. The rumour started on a Love Island fan page and Leslie said: "My accounts were set to private because I had other stuff to do not because myself and Shakira's mum are suing ITV. "We are definitely not, that rumour should be put to rest immediately. "There's even a rumour that she and I were spotted in London together with an attorney, also 100 per cent fake news." Leslie added: "It is not real. Love Island star Toni's mum reveals how she really feels about Harrison's exit after hittng out at her daughter "I cant wait for you guys to see the episode and we will talk about it." She then wrapped her chat with the words: "Other than that, I just wanted to reassure you we are all good, just no lawsuit. "Hope you have a great night." Toni's mum has been a regular online commenting on the antics on the matchmaking show. She previously broke down in tears and told how she was "really disappointed" in her daughter after she left Cach and reunited with Harrison. She then told how she really felt about bombshell Harrison's exit in another clip. VILLA ENTRY On Tuesday's episode, Toni was sitting on the terrace, when suddenly she heard her mum Leslie shout: 'Is Toni here? Where's Toni?' Realising friends and family have come to visit the Villa, Toni raced down the stairs to greet her mum who had flown in from Florida. Toni's best friend Marielle also made the trip and she joked of being in the Villa: 'It's like meeting our Sims in real life!' As they caught up, talk turned to her daughter's romantic relationships in the Villa, and Leslie said: 'The Harrison thing - I'd love to know what voodoo spell he put on you.' Toni replied: 'Sometimes you have to get burned 150 times before you can't get burnt anymore.' Leslie insisted of Cach: 'You have the most amazing man. His morals, his ethics, his calm demeanour when he is confronted with a bad situation… he is my king.' Toni laughingly replied: 'No, he's my king - back off!' FAN FAVE Toni and Cach have had a bumpy romance so far on the show, hindered by Toni and Harrison's will-they-won't-they situation. Casa Amor lad Cach is now coupled up with American stunner Toni, despite his embarrassment and tears after she ditched him for Harrison at a previous recoupling. His sister then grilled Toni on making Cach cry yet despite the awkward chat, fans were elated at Leslie's appearance on-screen. They praised the American, and her reaction to Toni's man, and one wrote on Instagram: "Toni's mum is a sweetheart !! Cach deserved those words for sure." A second posted: "Toni's mum has stated EVERY FACT. Cach handled it very well. His parents must be SO SO proud." A third noted: "Toni's mum, what a beautiful woman she is." One then added: "Okay that speech from Toni's mom made me tear up a little… Cach what an incredible guy." Gregg Wallace's Masterchef behaviour is branded 'disastrous' by former winner

Janet Street Porter has branded Gregg Wallace's excuse for his behaviour on MasterChef as 'disastrous' - and compared him to another BBC star in the process Janet Street Porter has labelled Gregg Wallace's justification for his conduct on MasterChef as "disastrous". The 60-year-old TV personality was dismissed from the popular BBC programme following an inquiry that upheld 45 out of 83 accusations levelled against him. ‌ The allegations ranged from unwelcome physical contact to instances of inappropriate undress. While Gregg has since expressed regret, he firmly maintains that he is "not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher". ‌ Following the launch of the investigation, Gregg disclosed his autism diagnosis. He criticised the showrunners for failing to "investigate my disability" or safeguard him from what he now perceives as a "protect me from what I now realise was a dangerous environment". ‌ In a chat with The Sun, he admitted: "I know I struggle to read people. I know people find me weird. Autism is a disability, a registered disability." He further attributed the claim that he "never wears pants" to his autism, explaining: "It's not sexualised. It's hypersensitivity - that happens with autism." ‌ However, Janet Street Porter, 78, took issue with Gregg's defence during her appearance on Times Radio. She drew parallels between the MasterChef probe and an investigation into allegations made against Russell Brand. Earlier this year, the BBC issued an apology after examining eight complaints about the former 6 Music presenter. Of these complaints, two were lodged during his tenure at the corporation. Former Celebrity MasterChef winner Janet has spoken out, saying: "Back then anybody working class, first of all you were regarded as a bit thick. He has no justification, his justification for everything has been disastrous, absolutely disastrous." ‌ She continued to draw parallels with another celebrity, stating: "He's exactly like Russell Brand, he's in his own world and they just do not see it. They do not see it. There's plenty of people like that." The BBC parted ways with both Gregg and his ex-colleague John Torode following an inquiry into their behaviour on MasterChef. The investigation, led by law firm Lewis Silkin, found merit in a complaint alleging John used racist language eight years prior. ‌ John however denies the allegation, and says he has "no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened". Speaking in the immediate aftermath of his "sacking", John said: "Although I haven't heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay - I am seeing and reading that I've been 'sacked' from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I'm accused of. He expressed disappointment over how the situation was handled, adding: "The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong. I'd hoped that I'd have some say in my exit from a show I've worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that." Despite the controversy surrounding Gregg, the BBC has announced that the new series of MasterChef will still be broadcast next month. ‌ A BBC spokesperson stated: "After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August. MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey." The broadcaster acknowledged the complexity of the decision, saying: "This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC." The spokesperson continued: "However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series." The corporation has yet to make any announcement regarding the Christmas or celebrity versions of the programme.
