The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recently took to Facebook to gently but firmly ask travellers to stop hiding animals 'in weird places' on their bodies. The woman, flying out of Florida, apparently thought her brassiere made an ideal travel terrarium - but the TSA wasn't shelling out any leniency. Authorities reminded pet owners that animals are welcome aboard - just not beneath your clothing - and not in intimate compartments. While small pets are allowed through security if carried properly, one of the turtles sadly did not survive the ill-fated journey. The surviving turtle was handed over to Florida's Department of Fish and Wildlife, who are now its new caretakers. 5,500 take part in Friendship Run

Malaysia-China Friendship Run 2025, held early Sunday morning at Padang Merdeka to commemorate the 51st anniversary of diplomatic ties between Malaysia and China. Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew flagged off the 7km run on behalf of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. The route stretched along scenic Likas Bay, turning at the Bay 21 roundabout and ending back at Padang Merdeka. Also present were Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Tan Lee Fatt, Chinese Consul General Zhu Xinglong and Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah President Dr Oh Ei Sun. Dr Oh said the event aimed to honour the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Christina praised the organisers and expressed hope that the run would become an attractive cultural activity for visitors. 'I hope tourists will be able to join future runs as a value-added experience. She expressed pride in joining the celebration, describing the event as a symbol of shared ideals between the two nations. Loke: Taxi drivers to get language, etiquette training for VM2026
KUALA LUMPUR: The Transport Ministry plans to introduce basic language and driver etiquette training for taxi drivers ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), said its Minister, Anthony Loke Siew Fook. Loke said the initiative is crucial as the taxi industry is not merely about transportation, but also represents the heartbeat of public service and often forms tourists' first impression of the country. He added that the government has also increased its contribution incentive to the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) from 10 per cent to 30 per cent to safeguard the safety and welfare of taxi drivers. "These reforms are ongoing, and I will continue working with this industry to strengthen the public transport sector for the benefit of the people," he said in a Facebook post. Earlier, Loke officiated the third annual general meeting of the Malaysia Taxi, Rental Car, Limousine and Airport Taxi Association (GTSM), which provided him an opportunity to hear directly from industry players. As Transport Minister, he said meaningful reforms in the sector could only be achieved through close collaboration with stakeholders such as GTSM.
