Massive Illegal Textbook Racket Busted at Sri Chaitanya School in Gadwal: BRSV Demands Strict Action Against Private School Exploitation

Hans India24-06-2025
Gadwal: In a major development in the Jogulamba Gadwal district, a massive stash of unauthorized private school textbooks and notebooks was seized at Sri Chaitanya School, exposing large-scale exploitation of parents under the guise of education.
According to BRSV (Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi) State Leader and Jogulamba Gadwal District Coordinator Kurva Pallayya, private schools in the district have been extorting parents by charging exorbitant fees for textbooks—ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 per student.
'These private schools are sucking the blood of poor parents like leeches,' he remarked.
Raids and Seizures:
The books were discovered in a rented residential building located in the lane opposite the Vrudhi Bhavan near Vijay Mess in the district headquarters. Acting on this information, the local Mandal Education Officer (MEO) arrived at the location and sealed the rooms where the textbooks had been dumped illegally.
Kurva Pallayya demanded the immediate cancellation of Sri Chaitanya School's recognition and strict action against the school management.
Statement by BRSV State Leader Kurva Pallayya:
He condemned the commercialization of education, accusing private school managements of:
Falsely branding government textbooks as private content and selling them at inflated prices.
Failing to provide quality education while turning schools into profit-making ventures.
Dumping unauthorized books in rented houses and running illegal sales operations.
He further criticized the school for violating the Fee Regulation Act, noting that even nursery students were being charged ₹32,000 per year—an alarming exploitation of the education system.
Demand for Action:
Immediate revocation of the school's license.
Legal action against those involved in printing, storing, and selling unauthorized textbooks.
Elimination of private schools that misuse the education system for commercial gain.
Kurva Pallayya warned that if authorities fail to act, BRSV will launch a district-wide protest against such exploitative educational institutions.
He also expressed disappointment with the lack of action taken against Saraswati School, where a similar incident involving illegal textbooks and notebooks was uncovered recently.
Participants:
Student leaders including Mahadev, Yuvaraj, Narasimha, and Mahesh participated in the protest and supported the call for reform in the district's private education system.
Conclusion:
This incident sheds light on the growing issue of commercial exploitation in private schools. With mounting pressure from student organizations like BRSV and the public, the district administration is expected to act swiftly to ensure accountability, uphold educational standards, and protect the rights of students and their families.

Kulgam's Akhal Forest Operation Drags Into Day 12; Forces Wait Before Delivering Final Blow

The forces are relying on patience, aiming to exhaust the terrorists' supplies and morale Twelve days after security forces launched an anti-terror operation in the dense forests of Akhal in Kulgam's Dewsar area, the encounter is still ongoing, marking one of the Valley's longest continuous operations in recent memory. The operation began on August 1, following specific inputs received by the security forces indicating that a heavily armed group, believed to be Pakistani nationals, had taken shelter in the dense Akhal forest. The initial cordon and search operation led to the encounter. So far, one terrorist has been killed in the operation named 'Operation Akhal". Two brave soldiers, Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, made the supreme sacrifice, while ten other personnel have been injured. Thick Woods, Tough Terrain According to Lt Gen Devendra Pratap Pandey (Retd), former commander of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps, the slow progress is deliberate. 'This is thick jungle, with heavy undergrowth. Rushing in risks more casualties," he said. 'We've already lost two brave men, and there's no need to take more hits. The aim is to eliminate the terrorists without collateral damage." He assured News18 that the terrorists would be eliminated. Experts say the terrain of the Akhal forest favours the militants, with natural caves, multiple exit routes, and a direct link to the Pir Panjal range. The group is suspected to be from The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, and is believed to possess night-vision devices, long-range rifles, and ample ammunition. The Army, J&K Police's Special Operations Group, CRPF commandos, and elite Para units have secured the area in a multi-layered cordon. Armed drones and helicopters provide surveillance and precision strike options. Instead of storming in, the forces are relying on patience, aiming to exhaust the terrorists' supplies and morale before delivering the final blow The 'Mahadev' Template The ongoing Kulgam standoff contrasts sharply with Operation Mahadev, conducted last month in the Dachigam forests. Acting on 14 days of pinpoint intelligence, security forces eliminated three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack in under an hour. That mission, involving the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police, was widely praised for its precision, coordination, and lack of collateral damage. Satellite-based tracking, human intelligence from locals, and rapid multi-agency mobilisation ensured the operation was over almost as soon as it began. Waiting for the Right Moment Sources say the Akhal mission is being guided by the same principle—strike once conditions favour the security forces. With senior officers, including the Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastav, and J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat, visiting the site, troops on the ground have been told there is no rush. The message is clear: patience now, a decisive finish later. view comments First Published: August 12, 2025, 21:57 IST News india Kulgam's Akhal Forest Operation Drags Into Day 12; Forces Wait Before Delivering Final Blow Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Delhi Police Links Ex-RAW Officer In Pannun Case To Mahadev App Staff In Dubai

In a shocking revelation, the Delhi Police have found new links between former RAW officer Vikash Yadav and people connected to the Mahadev online betting app operating out of Dubai. Yadav had earlier been named by U.S. prosecutors as a co-conspirator in an alleged plot to assassinate Khalistani separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. In December 2023, Yadav was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell following an FIR by a Rohini resident. He was accused of kidnapping and extorting a Delhi businessman, allegedly linking him with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He and his associate Abdullah Khan were granted bail in April this year. Court records show that complainant Raj Kumar Walia was kidnapped and threatened by Jalaluddin, a Dubai-based contract-killer, who arranged payment through hawala. Yadav and his associate Abdullah received ₹16 lakh from Jalaluddin via this route. Connection to Mahadev App Racket The probe linked Yadav to Jalaluddin, an operator in the Dubai-based Mahadev online betting racket that is under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged money laundering worth thousands of crores. Jalaluddin, also named in the Rohini case, was arrested on July 1 in Chanakyapuri but later granted bail. Although his passport has been seized and a look-out circular issued, the court allowed his release, citing lack of criminal history. U.S. Charges and Legal Implications In the U.S., the Department of Justice had charged Yadav with "murder-for-hire" and money laundering in the failed assassination plot against Pannun. It led him to the FBI's "most wanted" list. Delhi Police have informed the court that further investigation is ongoing. Call records are being examined to establish clearer links between Yadav, Jalaluddin, and the Mahadev betting app network. The connection of Yadav's alleged involvement in both the Pannun plot and the Mahadev app scam has highlighted multi-national criminal connections that law enforcement agencies are working to uncover.

Security agencies gather evidence confirming Pakistani nationality of Pahalgam attackers

Security agencies have gathered evidence, including documents issued by the government of Pakistan and biometric data, confirming that the three slain foreign terrorists involved in the deadly Pahalgam attack were Pakistani nationals, officials said on Monday (August 4, 2025). The terrorists, identified as senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Dachigam forest on the outskirts of Srinagar on July 28 during an operation code-named 'Mahadev'. They had been hiding in the Dachigam-Harwan forest belt since the April 22 attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran meadow, which claimed 26 lives. Also read | Pahalgam terror attack: Photos recovered from an encounter site in 2024 helped identify terrorists The evidence collected shows that no local was among these terrorists, the officials said. Biometric records of Pakistan's National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), voter identity slips and digital satellite phone data, including logs and GPS waypoints, are among the clinching evidence gathered by the security agencies confirming the Pakistani nationality of the three terrorists, the officials said. They said the post-encounter investigation, including ballistics weapon-to-cartridge match and statements of two detained Kashmiri helpers, corroborated the terrorists' involvement in the Pahalgam attack. "For the first time, we have government-issued Pakistani documents in hand that nail the nationality of the Pahalgam attackers beyond doubt," a senior official said. Forensic, documentary and testimonial evidence collected during and after 'Operation Mahadev' conclusively shows that all three attackers were Pakistani nationals and senior LeT operatives who had been hiding in the Dachigam-Harwan forest belt since the day of the attack, the officials said, adding that no Kashmiri was part of the shooting team. The slain terrorists were identified as Suleman Shah alias "Faizal Jatt", an A++ category terrorist, mastermind and lead shooter; his close associate Abu Hamza alias 'Afghan', an A-grade commander and the second gunman; and Yasir alias 'Jibran', also an A-grade commander and the third gunman, the officials said. Along with weapons, the security forces recovered Pakistani government-issued documents, such as two laminated voter slips issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, from the pockets of Shah and Hamza, they said. According to the officials, the voter serial numbers correspond to electoral rolls in Lahore (NA-125) and Gujranwala (NA-79), respectively. The officials said the NADRA-linked Smart-ID chips — a micro-SD recovered from a damaged sat-phone contained the NADRA biometric records (fingerprints, facial template, family tree) of all three men — confirming their Pakistani citizenship and addresses in Changa Manga (Kasur district) and Koiyan village near Rawalakot, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan-manufactured personal items like wrappers of 'CandyLand' and 'ChocoMax' chocolates (both brands produced in Karachi) were found in the same rucksack that carried spare magazines, the officials said, adding that lot numbers printed on wrappers were traced to a May 2024 consignment shipped to Muzaffarabad, PoK. On forensic and technical confirmation, the officials said, the 7.62x39 mm casings found in Baisaran were test-fired against the three AK-103 rifles seized on July 28 and the striation marks matched 100— while mitochondrial profiles extracted from blood on a torn shirt found in Pahalgam were identical to the DNA of the three bodies of the terrorists. The terrorists crossed the Line of Control (LoC) through north Kashmir's Gurez sector in May 2022, when the intelligence intercepts placed their radio check-in from the Pakistani side, the officials said. On April 21, they moved into a 'dhok' (seasonal hut) at Hill Park, 2 km from Baisaran, as was stated by two detained helpers, Parvaiz and Bashir Ahmad Jothar, who sheltered them overnight and provided them cooked food before they trekked to Baisaran the next day to carry out the attack. The GPS waypoints recovered from Shah's Garmin device match the exact firing positions reported by eyewitnesses, the officials said, adding that they escaped towards Dachigam after carrying out the attack. The shell casings at the scene matched the three rifles recovered from the terrorists after the encounter, the officials said. On digital footprints, they said a Huawei satellite phone (IMEI 86761204-XXXXXX) used by the terrorists had been pinging Inmarsat-4 F1 every night between April 22 and July 25. Triangulation narrowed the search grid to four square kilometres inside Harwan forest. Jammu and Kashmir Police released sketches of three people — Hashim Musa, Ali Bhai alias "Talha", and local Adil Hussain Thoker — on April 24. However, after the July 28 encounter, the agencies clarified that those sketches were based on a photograph found on a phone retrieved from an unrelated December 2024 shootout and the actual attackers were different. Another crucial evidence of Pakistan's involvement in the attack was the command and control links inside the neighbouring country, the officials said. They said LeT's south-Kashmir operations chief, Sajid Saifullah Jatt of Changa Manga in Lahore, was the overall handler as his voice samples from the recovered sat-phone matched his earlier intercepted calls. LeT Rawalakot chief Rizwan Anees also visited the families of the slain attackers on July 29 to organise 'Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza' (funeral prayers in absentia) and its footage is now part of the Indian dossier, they said.
