The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) is taking this initiative to empower women and make them self-reliant. The 'pink zone', to be developed on the first floor of the vending zone, will provide women with a platform to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. The ground floor is currently occupied by vegetable vendors. A pink toilet will also be constructed to cater to the sanitation needs of women, said a PMC official. Ashish Sinha, councillor of ward no. 38 in the PMC area, said: "We received a very positive response from the Kadamkuan vending zone. Women often express a preference to buy vegetables only from this vending zone. In light of this, a pink market area will be developed here. There will be products for women's use in the pink zone. On Independence Day foundation stone for the pink toilet will be laid."
