6 Rams made Sports Illustrated's all-time NFL mock draft
The Los Angeles Rams have had a lot of success throughout the NFL draft throughout the club's illustrious history. They have drafted 22 players who eventually made the Hall of Fame, a number that will surely rise by at least one once defensive tackle Aaron Donald is eligible for Canton.
In Sport Illustrated's ultimate NFL mock draft, Matt Verderame went through and drafted the best player at ever pick Nos. 1 to 224. Of those selections, six were taken by the Rams since the 1970 merger.
Here are all six Rams players to make the all-time mock draft:
Round 1, pick No. 13: DT Aaron Donald (2014)
This one is the biggest no-brainer. Donald recorded 111 sacks and made the Pro Bowl in each of his 10 NFL seasons. He also won Defensive Player of the Year three times and made eight Pro Bowls. While there have been other incredible players drafted at No. 13 (Franco Harris, Kellen Winslow and Tony Gonzalez), Donald is on another level.
Round 1, pick No. 20: DE Jack Youngblood (1971)
Youngblood had a long and successful 14-year career with the Rams that ended in the Hall of Fame. He made seven Pro Bowls, five All-Pros and finished with 151.5 career sacks. There hasn't been another like Youngblood in a long time.
Round 5, pick No. 113: OLB Kevin Greene (1985)
Another Hall-of-Famer, Greene spent the first eight of his 15 years with the Rams. His 72.5 sacks with the Rams ranks eighth in franchise history, but his 160 career sacks unofficially rank third in NFL history.
Round 5, pick No. 177: WR Puka Nacua (2023)
Nacua is only entering his third season but is already one of the best late-round picks of all time. He broke the NFL rookie record for receiving yards (which was broken a year later) and has 184 receptions for 2,476 yards and nine touchdowns in just 28 career games.
Round 7, pick No. 176: QB Pat Haden (1975)
Haden started 55 of 65 games under center for the Rams as a seventh-round pick and finished with a solid 35-19-1 record and made one Pro Bowl. While Haden wasn't a world-beater, he stepped in well when called upon for James Harris, Ron Jaworski and Joe Namath in his first two seasons before eventually taking over as the starter.
Round 8, pick No. 204: C Rich Saul (1970)
Saul was an ironman for the Rams in the 1970s and early 1980s. He started 105 games at center from 1975 to 1981 after beginning his career as the team's long-snapper. Saul made the Pro Bowl in six consecutive seasons from 1976 to 1981 as well.

The Green Bay Packers just cut cornerback Jaire Alexander, and the Philadelphia Eagles could take advantage of that.
The Green Bay Packers just cut cornerback Jaire Alexander, and the Philadelphia Eagles could take advantage of that. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Per a report by Ian Rapoport on X, the Green Bay Packers are cutting franchise cornerback Jaire Alexander, but he is not likely to be a free agent for very long. Advertisement In a recent article by PFF's Trevor Sikkema, he lists six potential landing spots for the two-time Pro Bowl defensive back, and one of the teams he thinks could be a potential suitor are the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. "We have to throw this one in here because, well, it's the Eagles. Part of their run to the Super Bowl last year was capitalizing on players like this becoming available and forming the best team in the league," Sikkema wrote. "The Eagles have Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in their secondary, two players who were excellent as rookie starters in 2024... Perhaps Alexander would take a big discount to be the veteran in the room for a team looking for another title." The Eagles cut veteran cornerback Darius Slay earlier this offseason, so the team could use someone to step in and fill his spot. Alexander has dealt with a number of injuries the past several seasons, so his last full season was in 2022. In 16 games that year, he was able to tally up a solid 56 total tackles, with 43 of them being solo. He was also able to show his incredibly ball-hawk skills with 14 passes defended and five interceptions. Advertisement There's a good chance this is the cheapest that Alexander is going to be after his short seasons in 2023 and 2024, so it could be an intriguing option for the Eagles to pounce and sign the veteran. Pat Surtain congratulates Cale Makar on Norris Trophy win Colorado sports have been a haven for team and individual awards in recent years: the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche both won championships (Avs in 2022, Nuggets in 2023) and there have been several individual awards making their home in Denver. Two of the most recent individual award winners are the Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain, who won Defensive Player of the Year and now, Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche winning his second James Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenseman. Makar found out he won the Norris on Wednesday, and Surtain sent a short video message to Makar. "What's going on, Cale! I want to give a huge congratulations from one defensive player of the year to another," said Surtain. "Congrats on another big award, congrats man." Makar won the Norris Trophy in the 2021 season, the Conn Smyth in 2021 (MVP of the Stanley Cup Playoffs) and the Calder Memorial Trophy (Rookie of the Year) in 2019. Let's hope Surtain can join Makar as a championship winner for the Broncos in the very near future! Check out the video below.

We hit 87 in our Raiders countdown to kickoff. Who wore it best and who's wearing it now
We hit 87 in our Raiders countdown to kickoff. Who wore it best and who's wearing it now We've reached 87 days until the Raiders season opener at Foxboro against the Patriots, With our countdown at 87 days we take a look at who currently dons the number in Silver & Black and who has brought it the most distinction. No. 87 Who's wearing it now: TE Michael Mayer The Raiders traded up in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft to select Mayer at 35 overall. After a slow start, the Raiders were a bad team and found themselves in position to draft Brock Bowers, so they did. Instantly Mayer went from the guy they wanted bad enough to trade up to the top of the second round, to playing second fiddle to Bowers. Which, to be honest, if you are going to take a backseat to anyone, he's the guy who you can't really feel too bad about. Mayer enters his third season with 460 yards and two touchdowns on 48 catches. After missing six games last season to 'personal reasons' he returned and has settled into his role as the Raiders' number two tight end. He and Bowers have the potential to make for one of the better one-two punches at tight end in the league. Who wore it best: TE Dave Casper A Hall of Famer. One of the greatest tight ends in NFL history. The man of whom the legendary 'Ghost to the Post' play is named after. He went to five straight Pro Bowls from 1976-1980 with four straight All Pro nods in there as well. And the Raiders won two Super Bowls during that time. In 1977 -- a year the Raiders did not win the Super Bowl -- Casper had five touchdowns in two playoff games.
