
PM discusses ministry's activities with sports minister
Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi on Saturday discussed the activities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and its affiliated units with Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed al-Muwalad.
The meeting covered the results and success of the summer activities and courses for the year 1446 AH, including the youth and sports initiatives they encompassed.
Discussions also focused on methods to enhance and develop the Ministry's role in cultivating the capabilities of young people.
Efforts to activate programs aimed at discovering, developing, and advancing talent were also addressed, with a view to raising Yemen's flag in various regional and international forums.
The Prime Minister commended the Ministry's efforts to advance this vital sector, which engages a broad segment of Yemeni society, despite current challenges.
He affirmed the government's support for the Ministry's plan to bolster the youth and sports sector and elevate its presence at all levels.
For his part, the Minister of Youth and Sports reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to implementing its development programs and plans in coordination with relevant authorities. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his interest in and dedication to supporting youth.

Al-Quds Team wins late referee Al-Marouni Volleyball Cup in Sana'a
SANA'A – SABA: Al-Quds volleyball team claimed the Late International Referee Ahmed Al-Marouni Cup, in a tournament organized by the Interim Committee of the Yemen Volleyball Federation under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, marking World Volleyball Day. Al-Quds secured the title after defeating the Sana'a team in straight sets, with scores of 25–23, 26–24, and 25–22. Following the match, Walid Faye', head of the Volleyball Federation's Interim Committee, encouraged players to remain dedicated, actively participate in all volleyball events, and work as a unified team alongside the committee to restore the sport to its former glory. He also noted the committee's ongoing efforts to organize more activities and coordinate with regional branches to revitalize volleyball across the provinces. At the closing ceremony, Faye', along with the committee's Secretary-General Bilal Al-Saari and Capital Secretariat branch head Mujahid Al-Ansi, presented the cup in honor of the late international referee Ahmed Al-Marouni to his children.
