PETALING JAYA : The success of implementing the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) depends on proper coordination and preparedness of every government ministry or agency, says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said they must move together as one team to meet future demands, Bernama reported.
'The 13MP was drafted following continuous discussions among ministries, central agencies and state governments over the past few months,' said Anwar, who chaired a special Cabinet meeting to review the framework and key initiatives of the 13MP today.
He said the 13MP would shape the direction of the country's development for the next five years.
It is scheduled to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat at the end of next month.
During the meeting, Anwar gave space to all ministers and senior ministry officers to contribute ideas on implementing the plan.
'The 13MP is a continuation of the reforms driven by the Madani government over the past two years.
'It is based on our aspirations to restructure the economic framework, elevate the status, dignity and well-being of the people, and build a more just, sustainable and resilient nation,' he said.

MyGOV Malaysia app to launch next month, says Gobind
Digital minister Gobind Singh Deo said the MyGOV Malaysia app will be linked to MyDigital ID, enabling users to securely log in and verify their identities when using government services. PETALING JAYA : The MyGOV Malaysia mobile application, which will serve as the country's single digital gateway for government services, is set to be launched in July. Digital minister Gobind Singh Deo said the app is part of the government's GovTech initiative and will allow Malaysians to access a range of public services through a single platform. 'This is part of the government's plan to transform Malaysia into a digital nation. It is only right to ensure we have a single platform where Malaysians can deal with various government agencies seamlessly,' he said in a statement. The app will offer seven core services, including passport applications, birth and citizenship registration, driving licence and road tax renewals, medical appointments and records, summons payments, land tax and assessment rates, and the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah. Gobind said MyGOV Malaysia will be linked to MyDigital ID, enabling users to securely log in and verify their identities when using government services. As of June 23, over 2.6 million users have registered for MyDigital ID. The digital ID will be linked to 34 government systems, with more to be added in the future. Gobind said the MyGOV Malaysia app was developed in collaboration with private sector partners, including telcos and banks, to ensure a safe and user-friendly experience. He also said the app would help reduce operating costs at Urban Transformation Centres nationwide and boost productivity by enabling more data-driven decision-making. 'The MyGOV Malaysia app will give Malaysians direct access to multiple services. This is part of our journey in transforming Malaysia into a digital nation,' he added.

Muda's future with Syed Saddiq hinges on court decision tomorrow
Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was convicted by the Kuala Lumpur High Court in November 2023 of abetting in criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of assets and money laundering. PETALING JAYA : Muda's future with its former president, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, will depend on the outcome of his appeal against his conviction and sentence for corruption and money laundering charges, which will be announced tomorrow. Acting Muda president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz told FMT that although the Muar MP had not held the party's presidency since he stepped down in 2023, he remained a key figure in Muda due to his role as its founder and sole representative in Parliament. Amira also said that Muda currently has no plans to appoint a new president as party elections are expected to be held soon. 'For now, there is nothing urgent that requires us to fill the position. We'll leave it to the members to decide,' she said. 'If everything goes smoothly, it will be up to Syed Saddiq to decide whether or not he wants to run again (for president).' Syed Saddiq was convicted by the Kuala Lumpur High Court of abetting in criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of assets and money laundering in November 2023. The former youth and sports minister was sentenced to seven years' jail, fined RM10 million and ordered to be given two strokes of the rotan. The sentences have been stayed pending an appeal to the Court of Appeal. He announced later that he would temporarily step down as Muda president and would not be involved in the party's decision-making processes.

Pahang's PET30 to drive economic transformation across state
BENTONG: The Pahang Economic Transformation 2025-2030 (PET30) is a strategic initiative aimed at reshaping the economic landscape of the east coast state into a more sustainable, inclusive and people-centric model. PET30 is built upon three main pillars namely the well-being of the people, environmental responsibility and economic growth driven by the private sector. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail described it not merely as a development plan, but as a comprehensive transformation exercise based on the state's resource strengths, current global market realities and the aspirations of its people. "PET30 will focus on strengthening the agro-food and plantation industries, advancing materials development, promoting nature-based tourism, enhancing human capital and workforce quality, and driving regional transformation and district empowerment. "Conserving forests and biodiversity will serve as the foundation of the green economy. "The green economy is a strategic asset, not only from the perspective of ecological sustainability but also as a new engine of growth, including carbon investment and the climate economy," he said in a statement today. Wan Rosdy earlier attended the PET30 master plan workshop led by Pahang Economic Advisory Council chairman Tan Sri Mohamed Nazir Abdul Razak at Genting Highlands near here today. Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy emphasised that strategic infrastructure projects, such as the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, East Coast Rail Link, Kuantan Port, Pekan Automotive Park, Central Spine Road, and Gebeng, would be fully leveraged as catalysts for investments. He said PET30 could not rely solely on policy documents but must be translated into concrete actions, supported by strict monitoring, key performance indicators, and cross-agency collaboration. "I call upon all parties to treat the years 2025 to 2030 as an era of execution, not just planning. We must step out of our comfort zones and act swiftly to steer Pahang toward a more prosperous future. "I am confident that PET30 will build a more prosperous, sustainable, and united future for the benefit of all the people in Pahang and future generations," he said.
