It wouldn't be an episode of this show if I wasn't talking about my love for Emeka Ibuka.
Right?
I've already gone off about him before, how I thought he was one of the best values in drafts.
I still think he is, and his ADP is on the rise, but you should be going out and getting him as many places as you can.
And it's not just a Chris Godwin injury situation, which we can go over that.
I mean, the reports came out that he had that second surgery on his ankle, the same ankle injury that cost him most of last season.
Um, he had a second surgery in the spring.
He's on PUP.
We don't know when he's coming back.
They haven't really given us a clear timeline on that.
So I'm not even sure how to factor that in when I'm doing projections for the year.
And when he does come back, how long is it going to take him to get back to form, right?
Is he going to be the same player right away, or is there sort of a younger version of him in this offense now that is gonna potentially Wally Pippin here?
I think that's within the range of outcomes.
If not, it might even be particularly likely that that happens, I think at this point.
Um, and, and you look at this, I mean, all the buzz that's been coming out of OTAs and training camp about Eguave, first round pick, we knew the talent was there.
We just thought it was gonna take a little while that these veteran receivers in front of him were gonna hold him back.
Now I'm not sure that Godwin is going to hold him back at all.
While I do think that Calvin Ridley, Tennessee Titans wide receiver, is a value picking drafts right now and is somebody that I want to take.
I'm also gonna harden myself here to this might be not the, not the best start to, uh, this season for Calvin Ridley.
Like, it might take a minute for Calvin Ridley and for Cam Ward.
Like this is really kind of more of a Cam Ward conversation than a Calvin Ridley conversation.
To get rolling here.
Yeah, for sure, and I think pointing this out specifically about guillotine leagues and emphasizing that like survival mode that you have to go into, taking a guy that has to go against Pats Tan in week one, not a smart move.
You are probably not going to be playing in week 2 if you take that player and you need him to perform for you then.
Week one.
And in that instance, Ridley's going to be available on the waiver wire if that is the lowest scoring team.
And then you can go pick up Ridley, you can make a bid for him, grab him, and now you have him for the rest of the season.
Right?
Like that's the nature of that game and why people should be keeping that in mind with these early season schedules and some of the early season matchups.

Ritsu Doan joins Eintracht Frankfurt for €22m
After three seasons at Freiburg, Ritsu Doan (27) has secured a move to Eintracht Frankfurt. The Hessen club have paid a reported €22m (€21m + €1m in bonuses) to sign the Japanese international, who has signed a five-year contract with SGE until 2030. 'Ritsu Doan has proven his high quality in the Bundesliga in recent years and brings with him skills that will help us achieve our goals,' said sporting director Markus Krösche. 'As a Japanese international, he has extensive international experience and has impressed in Freiburg with his technique, speed and mentality in recent years. We are delighted that Ritsu is now with us.' Eintracht Frankfurt fought off competition from Borussia Dortmund to sign Doan, who scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in 34 Bundesliga games last season. Doan's arrival is again another example of Eintracht's excellent recruitment team. They find themselves in a healthy financial position after selling Randal Kolo Muani, Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitike for significant returns on investment which has allowed them to splash on Jonathan Burkardt and now Doan. But it's also a testament to Krösche who negotiated a fee lower than Doan's reported €27m release clause. GGFN | Daniel Pinder

Sesko agrees five-year deal with Man Utd
has agreed to join on a five-year deal according to reports. The Red Devils have competed with Newcastle United for the Slovenian striker and they look like the favourites after news that RB Leipzig player has agreed personal terms with the club until 2030 according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The transfer isn't complete though as Manchester United still need to agree on financial terms with the Bundesliga side. Newcastle previously bid £78 million for the 22-year-old, something that the Manchester side have not matched yet. Ruben Amorim's team are expected to up their previous offer, which may include more add-ons considering the club's current financial situation. Sesko has played 87 times for Leipzig since joining from Red Bull Salzburg, in which he has scored 39 goals for the German side.
