Netflix to stop working on two Amazon Fire TV Sticks in DAYS – check to see if you're affected before shutdown
NETFLIX will reportedly stop working on three Amazon Fire gadgets soon, as the devices age into retirement.
From 3 June, two Fire Sticks and a Fire TV box will lose Netflix forever - so you better cancel that subscription, or upgrade your devices.

The shutdown affects the original Fire TV box, the first Fire TV Stick, and the Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote - Amazon's oldest Fire TV products.
These first-generation gadgets are now all over a decade old, having first hit shelves in November 2014 (in the US).
Brits, however, were able to get their hands on the devices in April 2015.

Affected viewers have two choices: buy a newer Fire TV gadget (or a telly streaming rival like a Roku Stick or Google Streamer) and continue streaming Netflix just like before.
Or, alternatively, viewers can wave goodbye to Netflix and cancel their subscription.
The first-generation Fire TV devices will still have all the other apps, such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Prime Video and Disney+ - for now.
But other platforms may too decide to pull their services from ageing tech later down the line.

Popular Fire TV Stick feature suddenly cut off as users warned to check devices
If you're in Ireland and enjoy Netflix binges on an older Fire TV Stick, it's time to take note as access to the app has now been completely cut off on some devices. After rumours circulated last month, Amazon has confirmed that support for some of these older models officially ended today, June 3, leaving many users suddenly unable to stream their favourite shows. Amazon said: "Netflix will be discontinuing support for some first-generation Fire TV devices, which were introduced more than 10 years ago." The change impacts owners of the original Amazon Fire TV Stick (2014), the Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote (2014) and the first-generation Amazon Fire TV (2014). If you use one of these devices to watch popular series like Drive to Survive, Adolescence or Bad Thoughts, you'll no longer be able to access Netflix through your Fire TV, Mirror UK reports. It is understood that the move is tied to new streaming technology called AV1 codec, which Netflix and other platforms use to deliver higher quality video. Unfortunately, these older Fire TV devices don't support AV1, making it impossible for Netflix to continue offering the service on them.
