Emmerdale ‘confirms' who will expose John in early ITVX release

Metro5 hours ago

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has worked out that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) is hiding something in Emmerdale, but whether anyone will actually listen to him is another thing entirely.
Robert is still in prison after breaking the rules of his bail conditions a few weeks ago. Yesterday, he was visited by Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and then John shortly after.
During Robert's meeting with John, he accused his distant sibling of trying to take his old life from him. Robert also called John the 'unwanted rut' of the family, noting that their father was willing to take Andy Sugden under his wing, and he wasn't even a blood relative.
Robert pushed John's buttons and slowly, his rage started to build. John ended up telling Robert that he has no idea what he's capable of, and that he could take his life from him if he wanted to.
In tonight's episode, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) was back in the prison visiting room to see her brother. She chose to side with Aaron and John and told Robert that when he's released, he shouldn't come anywhere near the village. More Trending
The news hurt Robert a lot. He told Victoria that John is dangerous, and he knows this because he's seen people behind bars displaying similar signs to their sibling. Robert pointed out that Vic doesn't actually know John very well at all and for a second, it looked as though she was in agreement.

Vic then suddenly changed her mind. She concluded that she does know her brother, and that Robert's comments were just being said out of jealousy.
We know that Robert will be released from prison this week and will head to the Dales soon after. He announces to Vic, Aaron and John that he's back because he wants to spend more time with his family, but it's clear he's got an ulterior motive as well.

Watch the moment Emmerdale's Bear threatens Dales villager in aggressive bust-up ahead of heartbreaking mystery plot

EMMERDALE's Bear Wolf laid into an unexpected villager on today's episode as they suffered an explosive run-in. In recent weeks, the dad of Paddy Kirk has been seen getting increasingly agitated and clashing with many of his closest relatives. 4 4 Despite living with Paddy and Mandy, there have been signs that Bear has been feeling pushed out and with not much to keep him occupied. As a result, Mandy and Paddy bought him a motorbike to repair but after he began to do it on the kitchen table and in their way, they soon banished him to the garage to complete the project. It has meant that he has been out of the house, something Paddy and Mandy viewed as a good thing, but for Bear he appeared to be more isolated than ever. In tonight's episode, his temper seemed to get the better of him as he lashed out at Kammy Hadiq during a charged moment at the garage. As Bear continued to work on his bike, Kammy began to point out some tips on how he could do it better and more time-effective. This left Bear frustrated as he was adamant that he knew what he was doing and did not need any input from Kammy. Kammy said to Bear: "Just go home. "It don't look great, you battering the bike like a nutter!" This comment left Bear furious as he stood up and grabbed the youngster in a fit of rage. Violently shaking him, Bear screeched at Kammy: "Don't call me a nutter! Emmerdale's Lisa Riley gives first look tour of Mandy and Paddy's new lovenest "I could snap you like a twig." Holding back a punch, Kammy shouted at Bear to get off him as Paddy arrived. Shocked to see his dad in such an angry state, Paddy insisted Bear let Kammy go before he watched his dad sulk off. Later on, Bear was left unhappy when Paddy questioned him on the day's antics. Attempting to enjoy his evening meal, he said he would eat alone in his room to avoid the questioning. Alarmed, Paddy insisted to Mandy that Bear appeared to be acting oddly but she did not appear to share the same thinking. Fans of Emmerdale know that a huge story is looming for Bear. He will soon disappear and not be seen on screen for some time but it won't be disclosed as to just exactly why he had fled. Speaking at a recent press event, Bear actor Joshua Richards said: "He alters somewhat, he's not too good here (pointing to his head) for some reason which we don't know why. "He's being slightly erratic emotionally and with his mood swings. "There's periods of forgetfulness and the kind of things that happen with a man of his age." 4 4

Danny Dyer's awkward jeans encounter 'helped him kick drug habit'

The ex-EastEnders star, who has been open about his addiction in the past, shared the pivotal moment that made him go clean for good Former EastEnders star Danny Dyer has openly discussed the moment he knew he had to give up drugs, which involved a confusing encounter with his trousers after a heavy night. Danny, who has previously spoken about his battles with substance misuse, shared on The Louis Theroux Podcast the incident following a party at the National Television Awards (NTAs), in which he found himself perplexed by his jeans. ‌ He recalled: "I just could not work out how to get my jeans on. I was just sitting on my ensuite toilet trying to work out what leg goes in what. ‌ "I've sort of had many of them moments over the years, of me being completely off my head. But that one really resonated with me. It was more because I looked up, my wife was just watching me and she looked shattered and she looked ill." Acknowledging the toll his addiction took on his family, Danny expressed a grave realisation about his destructive behaviour: "It was just this moment, I thought, 'S**t, you're going to die. "You're going to kill yourself. You're not happy. You're spanking all your money on drugs. You're destroying everything around you'. "It's weird that moment because I went straight to work [on EastEnders] that day and I was a bit off my head and I did say, 'Listen, I need to... I need help. I can't do this any more. I need help." In March, Danny candidly shared his struggles with substance abuse in an interview with The Guardian, crediting his role as a devoted family man for aiding his recovery. He remarked at the time: "Listen, I've had my issues with it. As a grandfather, it's not my thing. I've certainly been to plenty of parties and I've lived a life. I've got to a point where I've got rid of all my vices." ‌ While on the podcast, the actor – currently busy with the second series of the acclaimed drama Rivals – expressed frustration over his experiences trying to make it in Hollywood. According to Wales Online, he was particularly irked by being pressured to adopt an American accent, which often resulted in him being mistaken for an Australian. "They wanted me to live there for six months, and I had small children and I hated the fact that they wanted me to speak American all the time, which is what you're meant to do out there," he further explained. Moreover, he confided in Louis his immense pride in his latest solo project, Three Quick Breaths, drawing parallels to a personal acting milestone, saying: "We shot it in 10 days in Dublin and I had to learn 15 pages a day. "Maybe this was my Hamlet, maybe that narcissist in me thought, can I be the only one in a film? I watched it and I'm really proud of it." The Louis Theroux Podcast is available on Spotify and all podcast platforms.

EastEnders legend Shaun Williamson bags new TV gig 18 years after being killed off as Barry - and it's worlds away from the BBC soap

EastEnders legend Shaun Williamson has bagged a new TV gig 18 years after being killed off as Barry. Soap fans may remember Shaun as Barry Evans who first appeared on the show back in 1994. Barry died after being pushed off a cliff edge by his wife Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) in 2004. Shaun's new role is worlds away from the popular BBC soap and it has been revealed he will be featuring on Channel 5 's Celebrity Puzzling. Hosted by Jeremy Vine, the spin-off is set to see stars take on mind-bending puzzles across eight instalments. The new series is set to being on Monday, June 23 and Jeremy will be joined by Sally Lindsay and Carol Vorderman who act as team captains. Shaun will play on Sally's team in the finale episode against The Chase star Paul Sinah, also known as The Sinnerman. Other celebrities set to feature across the series include former England goalkeeper David James, comic Les Dennis, TV doctor Ranj Singh, actor John Thomson, and Olympic gold medallist Sam Quek, amongst others. Commenting on the spin-off, Jeremy said: 'It's amazing to do a quiz that's so simple and yet feels so fresh in every way. 'Celebrity Puzzling is one of those shows where, from the very first edition, everything fell into place with our amazing 5 team, with Carol and with Sally, and we just had the greatest fun in the studio. 'Not to mention burning through quite a few brain cells as we all tried to solve those beastly puzzles!' Just last year, Shaun delighted the crowd at Alexandra Palace by performing Sweet Caroline. The crowd at the World Darts Championship certainly welcomed his performance, which generated a superb atmosphere. In addition, he also performed 1980s song '(Something Inside) So Strong'. The darts cheerleaders joined in with his performance by dancing along. There was much applause for Shaun, who is frequently referred to by the name of his EastEnders character. After leaving EastEnders in 2004, Shaun went on to appear in sitcom Extras as 'Barry off EastEnders'; a satirical version of himself.
