Marvel Fans Go Wild As Baby Franklin Richards Debuts In Fantastic Four: First Steps
Last Updated:
Franklin Richards is not just any child. In the Marvel comics, he is arguably one of the most powerful beings.
Marvel Studios has unleashed the first teaser for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it's already breaking the internet. The biggest moment? A glimpse of baby Franklin Richards, Marvel's most powerful mutant, nestled between Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
The teaser has triggered massive fan excitement across the globe, with U.S. ticketing platforms like FANDANGO, Regal, and AMC Theatres reportedly crashing under the heavy demand. Adding to the frenzy is the anticipation among Indian fans, eager for the July 25, 2025 release in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Director Matt Shakman, who helms the film, recently opened up about the deep comic roots the movie draws from. 'Having absorbed six decades of F4 publishing, many of Hickman's magical moments and unique character dynamics stick with me. And they made it into our film in small and large ways," he shared. He further teased elements like 'The Future Foundation," 'The Bridge," and the emotional undercurrent around parenting. 'The messy family dynamics? Made even more interesting as Val and Franklin take center stage."
A standout moment in the teaser features Reed and Sue lying in bed with baby Franklin—signaling his official arrival into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm, teased fans saying, 'It's not just adults that have superpowers." Since her character is pregnant in the film, and Franklin appears as a baby in the teaser, her remark takes on a layered meaning for comic book fans familiar with Franklin's extraordinary abilities.
Franklin Richards is not just any child. In the Marvel comics, he is arguably one of the most powerful beings, often compared to or even surpassing cosmic entities like Galactus and the Celestials. While the teaser doesn't show his powers in action, it strongly suggests that the MCU will explore his vast potential in future films.
Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Together, they must protect Earth from Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner), while grappling with new responsibilities—including parenthood.
Directed by Matt Shakman and produced by Kevin Feige, the film promises a thrilling start for Marvel's First Family in the MCU.

Housefull 5 Day 1 India Box Office: Akshay Kumar fronted comedy nets a good Rs 22 crore on Friday; To make big gains over holiday weekend
Akshay Kumar fronted Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, has taken a good start at the Indian box office. Based on early estimates, the film's opening day collections are around Rs 22 crore net. This can be taken as a win for Akshay Kumar, who has been in search for a solid theatrical hit. Initially, advance bookings suggested the film might struggle to cross Rs 20 crore. But strong on-the-day bookings have pushed it past that mark with ease. Housefull 5 boasts a massive ensemble cast, including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Abhishek Bachchan. The comedy seems to have struck a chord, especially in mass pockets, where walk-in audiences have boosted its numbers. The Rs 22 crore opening is a promising sign, placing it among Akshay's biggest openers in a leading role. Only Mission Mangal, Sooryavanshi and Gold have registered better openings. The Day Wise Box Office Collections Of Housefull 5 Are As Under The opening day number of Housefull 5 proves that the Housefull franchise continues to have a loyal fanbase. With holidays ahead, Housefull 5 is poised for a strong showing. Advance bookings for Saturday and Sunday look robust, with estimates pointing to a weekend haul of around Rs 85 crore net. This would be very good for a comedy film in today's market. Slapstick comedy is difficult to hit the right notes and that's the reason we have such few comedies releasing these days. The initials of Housefull 5 show that there is an audience for unadulterated comedy ensembles and producers should be more fearless in staging such ensemble comedies. The movie's real test begins after the weekend. Ticket prices will drop on weekdays, and Housefull 5 needs to maintain steady collections to keep the momentum going. To emerge a hit, the film must aim for the Rs 200 crore net mark in India. The good news is that there is no Bollywood release until Sitaare Zameen Par and that means that the comic-caper will enjoy an open run. For Akshay Kumar, Housefull 5's opening is a ray of hope. After a string of underperformers, Housefull 5 could be his biggest post-pandemic grosser.

Kamal Haasan files nomination for Rajya Sabha seat from Tamil Nadu
Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president and actor Kamal Haasan on Friday filed his nomination papers to contest the biennial Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for June 19 from Tamil submitted the papers at the State Secretariat in Chennai in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and senior leaders from his party. He signed and handed over the nomination documents to election officials, marking his formal entry into the upcoming upper house move follows a brief delay in the nomination process. Haasan had initially been expected to file his papers earlier but deferred it, reportedly on the advice of party insiders who suggested the timing may not be ideal due to the backlash he faced for a controversial comment on the origins of Kannada. At a recent promotional event for his upcoming film Thug Life in Chennai, Haasan had remarked that 'Kannada is born out of Tamil', prompting widespread criticism from pro-Kannada groups. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce subsequently halted the release and screening of the film in the state, following protests and calls for a boycott. Haasan refused to apologise, maintaining that his comment had been taken out of context. He later told the Karnataka High Court that he would not release the film in the state, though he continued to defend his Rajya Sabha nomination comes under an electoral pact with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, which had promised him a seat in the upper house in exchange for his party's support to the DMK-led alliance during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The DMK formally announced Haasan as one of its three Rajya Sabha candidates on May for six Rajya Sabha seats from Tamil Nadu are set to be held on June 19. IN THIS STORY#Tamil Nadu
