However, tonight viewers will not able to check in on the residents of Albert Square.
BBC One is showing coverage of the Germany vs Spain Women's UEFA Euro semi-final.
Match of the Day begins at 7.30pm and will be airing until 10.10pm tonight.
It will be followed by the BBC News at 10 bulletin.
Four episodes a week of the long-running soap opera are shown on terrestrial TV.
However, extended sports coverage has meant that bosses were forced to make sweeping changes to the schedule.
Previously, EastEnders episodes were shown to viewers early on iPlayer due to coverage of the 2025 Wimbledon tennis tournament.
On Monday, dedicated fans instead received a double bill of EastEnders.
These instalments saw much-loved Nigel Bates return to Walford - after he previously left in emotional scenes.
Played by Paul Bradley, the 90s favourite returned to the square last year after a 26-year absence.
EastEnders legend makes a shock return just days after quitting Walford
It was soon revealed Nigel is battling early onset dementia - with childhood friend Phil Mitchell taking care of him over the next few months.
A concerned Jay Brown contacted Nigel's wife, Julie (Karen Henthorn) - who'd had no idea where he was.
Karen reprised her role following more than two decades away - and a brief voice cameo earlier this year.
After an emotional farewell, Julie took Nigel from Walford, intending to return to their home in Scotland.
Darkest soap storylines
Over the years the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock... EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) - Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca's adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police. Emmerdale: Holly's drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) - In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale's first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose. Hollyoaks: Luke's rape (2000) - Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap's first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs - who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance. Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) - Just a mere mention of 'Richard Hillman' is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it's not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn't.
However, things took a frightening turn when he ran off during the journey.
With the couple back in Albert Square, Phil proposed that all three live together - to help Nigel.
But will they all be able to co-exist under one roof?
EastEnders airs on BBC One and iPlayer.

Charity turns to Vanessa as another devastating ordeal is confirmed in Emmerdale

Yes we see you, Vanity fans (Picture: ITV) Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) is the person Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) turns to in Emmerdale soon, as she faces a scary ordeal in the middle of her surrogacy journey. Shortly after Charity decided to try and become Sarah Sugden's (Katie Hill) surrogate, she decided not to tell Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). Of course, it wasn't long until he found out, and wasted no time in telling Charity that he thought it was a bad idea. With really no one else to talk to, Charity chatted to Vanessa about it. Despite them being exes, Charity and Vanessa are really good friends. Vanessa was able to listen to Charity, while thinking of Mack's feelings too. Mackenzie then told Charity that he's decided to support her on the journey, which left her relieved. When he arrived at Butlers though, it became apparent that Mack had just changed his view because he believes the process wouldn't be successful anyways. Mack didn't think the surrogacy was a good idea (Picture: ITV) Charity's jumped over quite a few hurdles so far – but is disaster set to strike already? In upcoming episodes, the couple go for a walk, but Charity takes a tumble and falls to the ground. At Jacob's (Joe-Warren Plant), Charity convinces herself that everything will be fine, and fails to tell Sarah about the fall. Feeling smothered by Sarah and Jacob, Charity suggests an engagement party, hoping they will focus on something else for a little while. Charity has already made quite a bit of progress in the journey (Picture: ITV) Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! Major EastEnders legend hospitalised after fall - and a fan-fave is to blame

Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) makes a desperate attempt for cash in EastEnders next week – with devastating consequences for one resident. As viewers of the BBC One soap know, Oscar is desperate to evade thuggish associate Fat Mike (Tai Hilferink), who he grassed up to the police for stealing a car. In retaliation, Mike attempted to petrol bomb his house, and has continued to try and seek revenge by leaving a series of threatening messages and, in last week's episodes, left a knife in the kitchen chopping board as a stark warning of what he's capable of. After the two lads came face to face in Monday's instalment, a paranoid Oscar attacked a hooded figure in the hallway of sister Lauren's (Jacqueline Jossa) house, believing it to be Mike. …but it was Peter (Thomas Law)! In upcoming scenes, Mike is back on the scene and announces he needs £5,000 in exchange for Oscar's family's safety. At a loose end with where to find the cash, Oscar makes an attempt at forming a business deal with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), but his attempts fall flat and he has to confess all to Lauren. Will she offer to help? Across the Square, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) has been betting against his fiancée Yolande's (Angela Wynter) wishes, and is on cloud nine to see he and Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) have bagged a whopping £6,000! Yolande is furious – having already warned that she'd call off their upcoming wedding if she found him gambling again – but little does she realise, the money won't be staying in his hands for long. The family are all in The Vic when Oscar foolishly breaks into the Fox-Trueman household in a bid to steal the winnings, but is caught in the act by Patrick. Exit looms for Aadi in Coronation Street as he makes two major confessions

A couple of months ago actor Adam Hussain announced on his Instagram that he would soon be leaving Coronation Street and his role of Aadi Alahan. 'I guess the secrets out now!' he wrote. 'As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures. 'Over the 5 years I've spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!' In recent weeks the path to his exit has been laid out, beginning with a party that went disastrously wrong. Aadi had been left in charge of his dad's business while Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) was away in India. Aadi was keen to step up and show that he has what it takes to be a young entrepreneur, but he was so focused on this task that he didn't have any social life. So Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) suggested a party. Unfortunately things got out of hand when some of the party-goers took LSD, including Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). She hadn't realised she was taking the drug and had a very bad reaction, hallucinating that she was being pursued by evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill). In her terror she fell and injured herself badly, ending up in hospital. Aadi felt guilty for being responsible for drugs being at the party and did what he could to help her. This has led to the two of them embarking on a romance – but if Lauren knew that Aadi was the cause of her being 'spiked' she'd be furious. It's not the only secret hanging over Aadi. It turned out that he'd over-estimated his readiness to step into Dev's shoes and made quite the mess of the shop's finances. He tried to fix this by getting Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) to stage a robbery, thinking the insurance would pay off the debt he'd accrued. Unfortunately one of the many things that Aadi had done wrong was to forget to pay the insurance premiums. Bernie soon worked out that Aadi was behind the 'robbery' and made him admit everything else. Not wanting there to be a rift between Dev and his son, Bernie has come up with a plan to sort Aadi's financial woes out. Dev has been given a large sum of money for his wedding to Bernie, so Bernie's plan is she'll get everything for the wedding on the cheap, falsify the receipts and the difference will pay off Aadi's debt, with Dev being none the wiser. With the wedding about to take place it's make or break time for this plan, and with Aunty Rani turning up in Weatherfield to keep an eye on the proceedings and how her money is being spent, Bernie's plan is proving trickier than she envisaged. Like any soap wedding, the big day itself is eventful, but eventually Bernie walks down the aisle on Kit (Jacob Roberts)'s arm as Dev waits expectantly. The magical moment is soon followed by total panic as Bernie collapses, struggling to breathe. Asha (Tanisha Gorey) rushes to give first aid as an ambulance is called. And things are looking bleak for Bernie when, later, Asha announces that Dev wants the family to gather at the hospital. More Trending In the wake of these shocks, Aadi is feeling guilty for the mistakes he's made and the stress he must have put on Bernie, and he gets drunk in Victoria Gardens. Lauren eventually tracks him down there and he decides he has to come clean about what happened at the party. And when Dev gets home, Aadi braces himself to tell his dad the truth about his mishandling of the business and the debts he piled up. View More » How will Dev react?
