Steelers' "Friday Night Lights" practice brings fans from all over to Latrobe Memorial Stadium
The Steelers said 13,653 people attended the practice in Latrobe, all on hand to watch the first evening practice of training camp.
Fans waited for as long as five hours to get inside, and some fans came from surrounding states like Ohio, Maryland, and even as far as Massachusetts, to watch the live practice. Dylan Collins drove 12 hours from Boston to attend his first-ever training camp.
"I've been a die-hard Steelers fan since I was a little kid," said Collins. "My aunt lived out here, she put me on and I just kind of stuck with it ever since."
Jeffery McNeil, of Cincinnati, says he converted to a Steelers fan after his children decided to root for the black and gold, and he was blown away at the dedication of Steeler Nation.
"The unity, the fanbase, they've got the best fanbase I've ever seen," McNeil said. "The first time I had ever seen it."
Regardless of where they came from, the fans in attendance are eager to see how the Steelers' revamped roster comes together.
"I'm curious to see how the offense works together," said Justin Allen, whose young son was visiting his first training camp. "You've got a lot of new pieces. A new quarterback coming in, learning a new system. You've got new receivers, a young o-line, so I'm curious to see how they work together."
"I'm most excited to see Aaron Rodgers," said Nate Colbert of Frederick, Maryland. "If he can go and play like how we did in Green Bay, we've got it. We've got the defense to do it."

That said, the Jets are counting on Fields to help move the franchise in the right direction starting this season. While he'll likely never be confused with a pure passer, those numbers need to improve for the Jets' offense to be effective. Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald later reported that Williams collapsed due to dehydration, but was "fine" and receiving treatment. New York Jets 2025 NFL training camp is well underway and will be watched under a microscope each and every day. Throughout practices, updates are shared during the workouts which make for intriguing and important notes. In terms of Day 10 of training camp, what stood out the most? Here are three observations from the 10th day of Jets training camp: Back-to-back bad days from Fields The Jets offense has only had one day of training camp practices considered as a "good" outing through 10 workouts. The last two certainly were not that. Many reports indicated a few very, very poor sessions from quarterback Justin Fields specifically. On the plus side Breece Hall at least made a few players, according to reports. At least one we have a visual of. On one catch, it wasn't exactly a full diving effort, but Hall went all out to make the grab: Defense playing well While Fields and the offense have struggled, it might have been for good reason. Steelers' passing game with Aaron Rodgers is apparently sputtering
The Steelers have upgraded at the quarterback position. The upgrade has yet to fully load. A recent item from Christopher Barbre of raises red flags about Aaron Rodgers's performance in training camp. The concern is a familiar one for late-career Aaron Rodgers. Not enough balls down the field. Too many short passes and checkdowns. The connection between Rodgers and receiver DK Metcalf has yet to flourish. It's still not clear who the No. 2 receiver will be. They have more than a month to get it right, when the Steelers visit Rodgers's most recent former team, the Jets, at MetLife Stadium. It doesn't help that the Steelers' offense is facing a pretty good defense in practice. That will help the offense when it's time to face other teams. In theory. Regardless, Rodgers and Metcalf were supposed to change the narrative. For now, it's the same old story.
