Anita Hassanandani says she would also opt for limited work hours like Deepika Padukone: ‘Every parent wants to work lesser'

Actor Anita Hassanandani is all set to participate in Zee TV's reality show Choriyaan Chali Gaon. On the show, Anita, along with 10 other contestants, will be staying in a village for two and a half months, taking part in rural activities. During a conversation on SCREEN's Dear Me, Anita shared that saying yes to the show was a difficult decision as a mother, as she would deeply miss her son Aarav. She also expressed a wish to work shorter hours, similar to Deepika Padukone's recent request to the makers of Spirit.
Talking about challenges that modern parenting comes with, Anita said, 'As parents, we are overprotecting our children. This generation does so much that sometimes I fear that we don't end up with the kids having phobias. I have been wanting to do work hours like Deepika Padukone. Every parent wants to work less so that they can spend more time with their child and watch every phase of them growing up. So, definitely I would look for fewer working hours, having a few days off in the week. Initially, I didn't want to work. Nobody asked me to do it, but I just wanted to be with Aarav every second of my life.'

Commenting on the concept of shelf life, especially for a female actor, Anita said, 'If you are a good actor, there is no shelf life. You can play different characters. But actresses do have a pretty short shelf life. For male actors like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, there is no end to it. On TV, getting back after a break is a problem. The industry is already assuming things after you become a mother. So even before you can say you don't want to work, they assume that you will be busy and you won't take up work. People think that work has taken a backseat and you wouldn't want to get back.'
Pointing out that age also plays a crucial role, Anita said you need to be in a position like Alia Bhatt if you want to bounce back smoothly. 'If you are in a position like an Alia Bhatt who delivered a child and in three months she was working on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, it's different. On TV, it's not so instant, you have to slog and come back out there. You have to be fit again, and also be ready.'

Karan Kundrra and Elvish Yadav win Laughter Chefs Season 2, Karan says, ‘Season 1 ended abruptly, we didn't know what we were getting into'

Bharti Singh-hosted Laughter Chefs Season 2 concluded on Sunday with a grand finale celebration. While Karan Kundrra and Elvish Yadav were declared the winners, Aly Goni and Reem Shaikh finished as the first runners-up. Meanwhile, Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain secured third place. After winning the show, Karan and Elvish took home the trophy, while runners-up Reem and Aly got diamond stars. Karan Kundrra, who was part of the first season of Laughter Chefs, joined Season 2 midway, replacing Abdu Rozik and partnering with Elvish Yadav. While they proved to be strong contenders, the competition was fierce, with a narrow margin separating them from Aly Goni and Reem Shaikh. Until the semi-finals, Aly and Reem held the lead; however, the final round turned the tables. Watch A post shared by ColorsTV (@colorstv) Talking about Laughter Chefs exclusively with SCREEN, Karan Kundrra said, 'Season 1 had ended abruptly, and there were no winners. We were all figuring out what the show was like; it was supposed to be a filler show, and suddenly it became a rage. When season 1 got over, there was a gap, and there were 16 people in this season, other than Bharti and chef Harpal, so there were a lot of issues. But I wanted to be back on the show, because it's therapy.' He added, 'Laughter Chefs 1 was the first time I entered the kitchen in my life. I have never cooked before. I didn't know I had a knack for cooking and would enjoy it so much. By season 2, I realized how to make food tasty. Shooting for the show is way more fun. What translates on screen is just 40-50 minutes, but we shoot for 16 hours, so imagine all the fun we have. I was shooting in Dubai and would never miss a day. I would take a flight at 3:30 am after shooting all day and night, come here, and would not even feel tired, that's how great the contestants were in both seasons. ' Karan Kundrra also shared that he was initially skeptical when they were offered the first season of Laughter Chefs. 'Yes, we were skeptical. We didn't know what we were getting into. There were so many questions and apprehensions about working with 16 other people. I'll be very honest, actors are very insecure people; they don't want to share their screen space, everybody is worried about positioning, but we lucked out. In both seasons, nobody was negative on the show; that's what made it very happy to shoot. One wrong contestant and things could go South, but that never happened.' Lastly, Karan spoke about Season 3 of Laughter Chefs. 'I don't know if season 3 is in talks, but according to me, the show is inevitable. It has good ratings, and this show has reached worldwide.' Mimoh Chakraborty recalls playing games with Shah Rukh Khan during Kuch Kuch Hota Hai shoot, talks about bond with Salman Khan: ‘I am very fortunate…'

Actor Mimoh Chakraborty's movie career has not been very fruitful so far. Since his debut film, Mimoh has, unfortunately, not been able to catapult himself into the stardom that many aspire to. However, he is content with his journey, having been fortunate enough to be guided by superstars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, among others. During a recent appearance on SCREEN's 'Dear Me…', Mimoh recalled his fond memories with the two Bollywood icons. Like other kids from a film lineage, Mimoh Chakraborty also shared his views on nepotism and recalled the advice Abhishek Bachchan once gave him. Talking about how he dealt with negativity after Jimmy (2008) didn't do well, Mimoh said, 'I remember meeting Abhishek Bachchan during my dull phase; he has also gone through all of this. He eventually became such a big star with his charisma and fights. He said, 'No matter what the world tells you, never stop believing in yourself and fight back.' I remember that even today. Everything I read about me was a stepping stone to something else.' Also Read: Mimoh Chakraborty recalls the 'mega stardom' wife Madalsa Sharma saw with Anupamaa: 'My dad Mithun Chakraborty pushed her to take it up' Mimoh Chakraborty also spoke about how Salman Khan was always there for him. 'Salman bhai is a very loving man; he and my dad (veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty) have been very close. Their friendship is something I look up to; Dad and Bhai have been the best of friends. The same love he has given me as well. Whenever I want to talk to him, he is always there. I am very fortunate to get that love and attention from him. Not just him, even Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Arjun Rampal… they all have done this for me. I have been very fortunate to meet these amazing people, and whenever I have met them, they have always guided me to do something better in life. It is very rare to have this; our industry is very cut-throat and competitive. When you meet superstars like these who are willing to advise you for your betterment, I feel very fortunate.' Mimoh said. He also recalled the first time he met Salman Khan and said, 'Salman bhai has always gone out of his way to do something for me. I love him for that. I remember in Ooty, he had come for shooting and was sitting with that. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a bandana; the aura he had was 'my god!' He was sitting in Dad's office when I was introduced. I was a kid back then and had this Polaroid camera. So I asked Dad to click my picture with him, and the next day I showed that photo to everybody in my school.' A post shared by Mahaakshay Chakraborty (@mimohchakraborty) Mimoh also recalled how SRK played games with him on his computer during the shooting of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He said, 'Even with SRK… they were shooting for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and staying in our Monarch Hotel. Imagine King Khan coming to our room! He was sitting with Dad, and then he opened my PC to play Flight Simulator with me and my brother Rimo. Both of us were looking at each other and thinking, 'King Khan was sitting with us!' He was so nice.' Commenting on the popular belief that star kids get opportunities very easily, Mimoh Chakraborty gave his take on nepotism. He said, 'It's not true. Why is nepotism given such a bad reputation? We are attracted to this world we have been exposed to since we were kids. We just know people. I know Salman Khan, SRK, and other great people, but they don't owe me anything. They love my father, but they don't owe my father anything, nor does he. There is a familiarity, but that's it. I can go to Salman bhai and ask him how he is doing, but nothing beyond that. I don't use the word 'star kid' because I feel it's like a curse word for us. People from the film lineage will be given the opportunity, but in the end, it is always the hard work, the mantle, your talent, your thirst and hunger, and above all, your destiny. I am the poster boy of anti-nepotism, and I am very proud of it. But having said that, everyone deserves an opportunity.'
