Heartstopper's Joe Locke ‘thrilled' to make West End debut in Clarkston
'I can't wait to bring this beautiful story to life and share it with audiences in London.'
Clarkston, directed by Jack Serio, tells the story of Jake, who is on a journey to discover himself when he unexpectedly meets Chris, a kindred soul working a night shift at a Costco in a rural American town. As the pair's bond deepens, so does their sense of adventure.
Writer Hunter said of the play: 'I couldn't be more excited to bring Clarkston to London audiences, especially with this phenomenal cast and creative team.
'I've always adored the UK's theatre scene, so being able to share this play with audiences in the West End is truly a dream come true.
'This play draws from themes of the vast and isolated American West and the colonial past of the United States, but it's fundamentally a story about love and friendship in the midst of an unknown future, which is a pretty
universal story these days.'
Locke starred in all three seasons of Netflix's teen drama Heartstopper as Charlie Spring, a gay teen boy who falls in love with his classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor).
The Manx star was nominated for outstanding lead performance at the Children's And Family Emmy Awards in 2022 for his role in the show.
The actor has also appeared in Marvel's Agatha All Along miniseries and made his Broadway debut last year in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street.
Further details, including ticket sale dates, are yet to be announced.

Netflix fans obsessed with wild documentary dubbed their 'best one yet'
It has already become the most watched film on Netflix Netflix fans are 'obsessed' with a new documentary dubbed 'wild' and is said to be the 'best one yet'. The latest feature film doc in the Trainwreck series was released on the streaming platform earlier this week. Available for streaming from Tuesday (July 15), it has already proved popular among subscribers. At the time of writing, the film has surged right up the charts to instantly become the most watched title among UK users. It has leapfrogged ahead of new releases K Pop Demon Hunters, Brick and is proving more popular than Oscar winning Oppenheimer. According to the synopsis, the documentary takes viewers back to October 15, 2009, when a father in Fort Collins Colorado calls 911, claiming that his home-made flying saucer has escaped from the family's back yard. However, he believes that inside is his six-year-old son. This stranger-than-fiction claim is backed up by footage from a news helicopter, which catches up with the balloon and is live-streaming the chase. What starts as a local story and unusual emergency situation quickly escalates into a national one, as everyone from the National Guard, to the Sheriff, and Homeland Security, struggles to come up with a plan to safely rescue the child who is quickly named Balloon Boy. As the balloon eventually lands, people praying for a miracle but instead something else and very unexpected is revealed. Public sympathy quickly turns into righteous outrage, as Balloon Boy and his family become one of America's most infamous, and bizarre news stories. Balloon Boy is the latest in Netflix's Trainwreck documentary series that explores various modern disasters and media-fueled events. Previous instalments have focused on the Astroworld tragedy, the rise and fall for American Apparel and Canadian politician Rob Ford. The latest feature film examines the extraordinary story by looking at archive footage. It also interviews some of the key people involved including authorities who attended the incident, reporters who covered the story and the family at the centre of it all. Fans have been quick to react to Balloon Boy on social media, with one posting: "Obsessed with Netflix Trainwreck.. but the Balloon Boy episode has me thinking.. how awesome would a giant Spacex Starship balloon be." Another simply stated they had put this latest Trainwreck instalment at the top of their list. They said: "New Trainwreck on Netflix. Balloon boy, best one yet." Someone else added: "Watching this wild documentary on Balloon Boy on Netflix, this is craaaaazy wild." One critic recommended that viewers should definitely stream it. In their review, they pointed out several issues that the doc seems to highlight and multiple viewings could reveal some thing new each time. They wrote: "Questions spring out of the narrative about child manipulation and the ethics of media frenzies, fringe thematics that might take deeper root in a documentary series that's more concerned with journalistic integrity than Trainwreck's pursuit of amusement." Another reviewer said: "So why do we need to see the Netflix series if the story was so well reported at the time? For one reason: Balloon Boy is the first time we're getting an in-depth look at the full story from the family's point of view. We're getting sit-down interviews with them all, including the now grown up Falcon, who still seems pleased that he was once at the centre of a national news storm as a little boy." They continue: "I can't wait to get the inside story straight from the source. If you're wondering what to stream this week, make it this as it has the potential to be one of the best Netflix shows."

Netflix viewers 'infuriated' after watching new crime documentary Amy Bradley Is Missing
Netflix has released a three-part series about the disappearance of Amy Bradley, and viewers have been left "infuriated" by the cold case that has gone unsolved for decades. Netflix viewers have been left confused and "infuriated" with their new crime documentary. The streaming service released Amy Bradley Is Missing onto the platform on Wednesday and the three-parter delves into the disappearance of a young woman who suddenly vanished during a Caribbean cruise in March 1998. The then-23-year-old waitress was on a family holiday aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship and had been poised to start a new job at a computer consulting firm upon her return. She and her brother attended a club onboard the ship at one point during the trip, and then headed back to their cabin. But upon going to check on her in the early hours of the morning, Amy's father discovered she was gone and she has not been seen since. Mass searches took place aboard the ship, but it soon docked in Curaçao, where she potentially had the chance to slip out unnoticed amongst the 2,500 new passengers who arrived. There was concern that she had also fallen overboard and drowned, but no body has ever been found, and an investigation confused that there was no evidence to suggest that such an incident occurred. As the documentary explains, several potential sightings cropped up over the years, but nothing has ever brought anyone closer to any sort of answers of Amy's whereabouts. And when viewers began to discover Amy's chilling story as the title dropped on Netflix, they were quick to take to social media with their reactions. One confused viewer simply wrote on X: "Amy Bradley Is Missing On Netflix WTF," whilst another wondered just "how" she was never found when "four different people" claimed to have seen her before she vanished. Amy was declared legally dead in 2010, and the viewer fumed that they were "infuriated" at how officials handled the situation. A third questioned: "Amy Bradley case - did any of the passengers witness any luggage or carts being taken off in Curaco?", whilst another said: " @FBI failed Amy Bradley ...Were they just unbothered by her disappearance, lack of care or just laziness... how do you explain their failure to follow up crucial leads? This is the first time to see a case where detectives have leads and fail to followup!" Several theories have persisted about what happened that night, and in the documentary, crew member Alister 'Yellow' Douglas - whom Amy was seen talking to just before she disappeared - spoke out. He later passed an FBI polygraph test but recalled to her daughter during a phone call on camera: "They brought the FBI on immediately and then he said to me that they're trying to find this girl [and] I was seen dancing with her. "Everybody that had anything to do with cleaning her room, serving her drinks, we were grounded. When they realised nothing was involved, we continued to work. And I continued to work on the cruise ship until two years later." In 2005, Amy's mother Iva made an appearance on the Dr. Phil show to discuss a photograph of a woman who resembled her daughter but had become the victim of sex trafficking. At the time, she admitted: "It is like a stab in the heart. I've never thought that she wasn't out there. Neither has her dad. Neither has her brother. We gotta get to her!"
