Bruno Tonioli's Britain's Got Talent future 'in doubt' as ITV eyes up KSI
Bruno Tonioli may have to bow out of his role on Britain's Got Talent due to scheduling issue with a US show and KSI has been tipped as the favourite replacement
Britain's Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli may have to face the axe from the ITV show as filming dates for the next series is said to clash with his US show, Dancing With The Stars. And now it looks as though Simon Cowell and production are eyeing up his replacement.
According to reports, KSI proved popular among viewers and so it looks as though he will be the obvious choice to take over Bruno's position on the show. The 69-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing judge has been on the show for two years after taking over from David Walliams in 2023. Meanwhile KSI, who boasts a social media following of 75 million people has already experienced being a judge on the show following a number of guest appearances.
He took over from Bruno during the times the former professional dancer was away filming in America.
A TV insider told The Sun: "There is no doubt that KSI's social media clout is exactly what the BGT panel needs, and Simon loves the edge he brings. "
The source explained: "TV isn't getting the viewing figures it did a decade ago, so to have someone who can tell their followers to sit down and watch the box can have a real impact."
They added: "Because of the scheduling issues, insiders are certain that Simon will offer KSI a more long-term position in the show."
When asked his thoughts about KSI in reference to his stint on the ITV show, he told the publication: "We're both young, attractive, multi-talented stars, known the world over. Joking aside, I think KSI is fantastic — a real charming man, full of energy."
He explained: "We attended the Brits together too, which was a fabulous evening."
KSI's first appearance on the show was in February and soon after his fans called for TV bosses to make him a permanent fixture.
The insider added: "We had a similar situation last year. Bruno was filming Dancing With The Stars in October but was still available to film BGT auditions in Blackpool. "
They then said: "In this year's series, KSI stepped in as a guest judge for both Bruno and Simon on different audition dates."

EastEnders' Shane Ritchie teases return of Spencer Moon
Speaking to The Mirror, Shane, who has played Alfie Moon for more than 20 years, spoke of how he'd like a fellow Moon to return too. Christopher Parker, who played Alfie's younger brother Spencer, arrived on the Square alongside Alfie and their grandmother Nana Moon in 2002. Spencer quickly became a fan favourite, which led Christopher to take part in the first series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 – coming in second place. After Christopher left the soap in 2005, he quit acting and re-trained to become a lawyer. Most popular soap operas in the UK Shane told The Mirror: "I would like him to come back. "One of my sons keeps in touch with Christopher [Parker], but he's a lawyer now. "He flies between LA and London. I would love to think that one day they might bring back Spencer, but so much is going on at the moment. 'Alfie could probably do without that." It's not the first time Christopher's name has been mentioned surrounding the soap this year – after Spencer's ex-partner Vicki Fowler returned in February.
