Did Boston Celtics point guard legend Bob Cousy just challenge Celtics star Jaylen Brown?

Did Hall of Fame Boston Celtics point guard Bob Cousy just challenge Celtics star forward Jaylen Brown? In an interview with the so-called Hardwood Houdini himself on his 97th birthday, Cooz let it slip that he thinks that Brown is not quite on the level of costar on the wing Jayson Tatum, and that the St. Louis native being injured means that Brown is not going to be able to lead the Celtics back to the NBA finals in so many words.
Some fans of the team took that commentary as a slight against the Georgia native. Others saw the words as a refreshing admission of where Boston is as a roster, given the front office has traded away or let walk in free agency a substantial part of the 2024 title core.
The hosts of the CLNS Media "First to the Floor" podcast, Jake Issenberg, Ben Vallis, and Wayne Spooney, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below!

Boston Celtics jersey history No. 29 - Pervis Ellison (1994-2000)

The Boston Celtics have had players suiting up in a total of 68 different jersey numbers (and have three others not part of any numerical series) since their founding at the dawn of the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- the league that would become today's NBA), worn by well over 500 players in the course of Celtics history. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Celtics Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. With 25 of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Celtics to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover. And for today's article, we will continue with the fourth of four people to wear the No. 29, Boston big man alum Pervis Ellison. After ending his college career at Louisville, Ellison was picked up with the first overall selection of the 1989 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings. The Savannah, Georgia native also played for the (then) Washington Bullets (now, Wizards) before signing with Boston in 1994. His stay with the team would span parts of five seasons over six years, with injuries keeping him sidelined for an entire campaign. His time in green and white came to an end when he signed with the Seattle SuperSonics in 2000. During his time suiting up for the Celtics, Ellison wore only jersey No. 29 and put up 4.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference.

Where would Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum rank in the NBA next season if healthy?

Where would star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum rank in the NBA next season if he was healthy? The St. Louis native of course will miss most if not all of next season as he recuperates from a torn Achilles tendon sustained against the New York Knicks in the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, and thus won't be much of a factor in terms of how his play could shift the standings of the league and the postseason beyond it. But Tatum was on the precipice of the peak of his prime years before the injury took him out of the conversation for the 2025-26 season. And as a regular finisher in the top five of Most Valuable Player voting, there is a case to be made that the Duke alum could have cemented his status as a top-five player in the league this season. The host behind the eponymous "Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf" YouTube channel put together a clip looking at where Tatum and fellow Achilles Bros Tyrese Halliburton and Damian Lillard would rank in the league if healthy.
