Teen Mom 's Jenelle Evans Addresses Explosive Texts to Her Son Jace
is shedding some light on her and 's rocky relationship.
Hours after her 16-year-old son shared screenshots of their heated text exchange on social media, the Teen Mom alum insisted that the eyebrow-raising messages she sent him were taken out of context.
'My children are my whole world,' Jenelle, who shares Jace with ex Andrew Lewis, wrote on her Instagram Stories Aug. 19. 'Everything I do is to try and protect, guide and love them.'
'Like any parent, I set rules and boundaries, and sometimes that isn't easy,' she continued. 'Jace posting our private texts was his reaction to being rightfully disciplined and while it hurts to see those moments shared publicly, I know it comes from a place of struggle.'
Alleging that her son has also 'been in trouble with the law these past few months,' Jenelle—who is also mom to Kaiser, 11, with ex Nathan Griffith as well as daughter Ensley, 8, with ex —went on to share an update on the teenager's mental health journey.

'Navigating Jace's different medical diagnoses has not been easy but I have never stopped fighting to make sure he has the resources, love and support he needs,' she shared of her son, who has been diagnosed with ADHD, major depressive disorder and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). 'I will always stand by him, no matter what challenges come our way, and I will continue to work on being the best mom I can be to all three of my kids.'
As for what the explosive texts said? Well, Jace shared a series of conversations between the two that he claimed demonstrate how 'unstable' his mother is.
'You're the one saying you're going to have my custody taken,' Jenelle wrote in one of the texts, per Jace's Instagram Stories. 'F--K YOU. You won't get a damn thing from me anymore including a phone.'
In a separate screenshot, she seemingly implied that her son lied about his previous abuse allegations against David. (David was indicted by a grand jury on child abuse charges, which he's denied in posts on social media, last January. The case is still pending.)
'Just like the way you lied about David strangling you,' she wrote in a message to her son. 'You make things worse on yourself.'
The latest update comes one month after Jenelle shared that Jace had moved back in with her after a few weeks living with his dad due to ongoing behavioral problems.
"Jace, he's doing good, he's back at home, he's not living with his father," she told People at the time. "He'll be starting 11th grade. And he's just been, you know, he's been getting into skateboarding recently, so that's his thing."
And the reality star, who added that he had been home "for a few months now," couldn't help but reflect on her son's growth over the years.
"It's really crazy because you see the transition from a little boy to a young man, and he'll be 16 in August, and it's just really crazy," she continued. "It just flies by so quick. So I'm just really cherishing every moment I can before he turns 18 and decides to leave."

Amanda Knox had ‘chills' watching Hulu series on her life
Amanda Knox has reacted to the actress who plays her in the new Hulu limited series 'The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.' Knox lauded Grace Van Patten for the portrayal, telling People that her performance gave her 'chills,' and Van Patten has the 'ability to just take on the whimsy but the gravitas of this role.' 'I felt like I could finally grieve the young person that I was,' an emotional Knox told the magazine at the Aug. 19 premiere screening at the New York Historical Society in New York City. 'Someone recently said that what happened is someone stole my sparkle. They didn't just steal my freedom; they stole my sparkle.' She added, 'And seeing her bring it back again — I'm just so grateful to her, that she's honored that for me.' 'The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox' The new series tells the true story of Knox, who was convicted of murder twice in relation to the death of her British roommate, Meredith Kercher, while studying abroad in Italy in 2007. Knox spent four years in an Italian jail before she was exonerated in 2015 by Italy's highest court. The eight-part series, which former White House aide Monica Lewinsky serves as a producer, chronicles the wrongful conviction and how the ordeal has impacted her family, Kercher's family and Knox's boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito, who was also convicted and then acquitted for Kercher's death, according to NPR. Meredith Kercher's family reacts to show Kercher's sister, Stephanie, chose to remember her 'for her own fight for life,' she told The Guardian in November 2024, when the series began filming in Italy. Stephanie Kercher told The Guardian her family found it 'difficult to understand' the purpose of the show. 'We will forever feel this indescribable void, but we live by Meredith's standards with dignity,' she said at the time. In March, Knox appeared on NewsNation's 'Banfield' to promote her book ' Free: My Search for Meaning ' and revealed details about her time in prison, which she said was 'dehumanizing' and rife with sexual harassment. 'I was also being highly sexualized in the media as this whore who would go with anybody. I think some male guards got the idea that if they could just find themselves alone in a room with me, they could take advantage of that,' Knox told Ashleigh Banfield at the time. On Van Patten's performance, Knox told People, 'Everyone I know who has seen this has just been like, 'How did she do that? How?'' She added, 'She is incredible, and I'm so grateful to her because I feel like that is something that I've struggled with for so long, is how much people have rendered me two-dimensional. And she finally honors that young person that I was and the person I am today.' Critics have had mixed reactions to the show, with Vox saying that the character portrayals are 'uneven and unsatisfying.' The outlet added that the show's attempts to highlight Kercher are 'shallow' since she and Knox only knew one another for a few weeks before her murder. The Hulu series premiered Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Man Tries To Make Presentation, Cat Decides 'It's Her Time To Shine'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The moment a cat took over during her owner's practice presentation for school left viewers in stitches. An August 16 TikTok video posted by user @kayboltsmith showed a husband, Nathan Smith, standing in front of the camera with his wife, Kayla, sitting on a padded table. Nathan needed to film a presentation for his physical therapy program and used Kayla as his patient. But with a "needy kitten" in the house, those plans got interrupted. In the midst of recording his presentation, the couple's cat, Bee, began circling around the table. Their mouths dropped when she hopped up. Trying to keep the laughter in, Kayla used her hand to cover her mouth. Knowing there could be distractions as a physical therapist, the show went on and Nathan continued to present. Meanwhile, Bee climbed over Kayla and made herself comfortable. The text on the video read: "It's her time to shine." The couple lost it when the cat began cleaning herself, angling herself perfectly in the frame. Kayla told Newsweek via TikTok that the cat's interruption went on for about five minutes before her husband finally picked Bee up and shooed her off-screen. "This was our first PT video we had to make since adopting her so I knew something was about to happen!" Luckily, Nathan was not presenting live. He had the option to rerecord, but decided this version would work. "He said his professor is chill and will likely find it funny," she said. Viewer Reactions People are obsessed with the cat's interest in the couple's activities, and as of Wednesday, the TikTok video reached over 27,800 views and 5,839 likes. "She just wanted to be involved," a viewer wrote, while a second person commented: "No, but I wish my PT's office had a cat." Another added: "I would be giving bonus points for the cat assisting." Many laughed at how Nathan "scooped her up" after she made herself comfortable on the table and others wondered what grade he received. Kayla responded: "I told him he's gonna get points off for twisting her spine. Bad PT." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
