Tulisa Contostavlos learnt brutal lesson on I'm A Celebrity after jungle disaster
After years away from the spotlight, Tulisa Contostavlos returned in a major way in 2024 when she appeared in the 24th series of I'm A Celebrity.
The N-Dubz star joined the likes of Danny Jones, Rev Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney in the jungle reality show. But her time was short-lived, and she was the third contestant to be booted out.
Following her elimination, Tulisa surprised many by quickly leaving Australia and not participating in the final reunion show. She also deleted all mentions of the show from her social media, later explaining that she felt "overwhelmed" by the attention.
"A lot of bombarding, in all the most positive way but because it's been a bit of a while for me, I can get overwhelmed quite easily," the Sight of You singer said in an Instagram video. "I just need to take a bit of time for me and just chill and this is all just feeling a little bit much at the moment."
While her time on the show was brief, it helped provide clarity for Tulisa, who has touched upon the experience in her new book, Judgement: Love, Trials, and Tribulations.
Writing in the epilogue, the star shares: "I can see clearer now, I have a strong sense of inner peace and an internal happiness that comes from within. It wasn't easy, but I'm proud of myself. I've managed to successfully return with N-Dubz and had a fun little stint on I'm a Celebrity… though it has confirmed my feelings of wanting to remain a little less in the spotlight.
"I can't say I enjoyed eating lamb bollocks and being pi**ed on with rain during the rainiest season ever, but I am grateful for the experience because it's only by getting uncomfortable that we can grow.
"Mostly I was very grateful for the opportunity to show people my true self after so many years of such giant misconception of who I truly was, and I've certainly felt a change for the better in people's energy towards me since. All is finally well, but there were certainly moments along the way to get to this point where my hope was short."
Tulisa made her name in the 2000s as part of N-Dubz before launching her solo career and later appearing as a judge on X-Factor in 2011. She largely stepped back from the public eye when, in 2014, charges were brought against her after an undercover reporter from The Sun - 'Fake Sheikh' Mazher Mahmood - claimed she'd brokered a deal to supply Class A drugs.
The drugs trial collapsed after the reporter was found to have lied in his evidence, and Mahmood received a 15-month prison sentence.
Previously, Mahmood had been employed by the Sunday Times and the now-defunct News of the World. He gained notoriety for exposing wrongdoings but faced criticism for orchestrating stings while masquerading as an Arab businessman to secure stories.
One of his high-profile targets was model Jodie Kidd, who discussed her ordeal in the 2023 Prime Video documentary series "The Fake Sheikh," where she lamented that befriending him was "the biggest mistake of my life," after being labelled a "coke fixer" in the press following their encounter.
Post-conviction in 2016 and subsequent imprisonment, Mahmood vanished from the limelight and is presumed to have ceased working as a journalist. Nonetheless, in a 2023 interview with The Guardian, Paul Samrai, an associate of Mahmood's, hinted at rumours that Mahmood might still be active in journalism, albeit under a pseudonym.

A beloved soap is 'returning to screens' after 22 years off air as show is set to make a historic crossover with Hollyoaks
A beloved soap is reportedly returning to screens after 22 years off air as it is set to make a historic crossover with Hollyoaks. Hollyoaks celebrates its 30th anniversary in October, and to make the milestone Brookside will be returning too, according to The Sun. The iconic Liverpool-based soap will be streamed in a special Hollyoaks episode that will honour the predecessor. The soap, set in Liverpool, chronicled the lives of characters living in 13 houses on a cul-de-sac called Brookside Close. Hollyoaks took over as Channel 4 's flagship continuing drama when the Liverpool based soap ended on November 4th 2003. And as part of the exciting crossover, fans will see Brookside characters make a return as a treat to mark the milestone. Executive Producer Hannah Cheers told the publication: 'This episode is a love letter to both Hollyoaks and Brookside. 'Brookside gave birth to Hollyoaks — it grew up on the same site and eventually took over its sets. 'For everyone at Lime Pictures (originally Mersey TV), Hollyoaks' history is deeply rooted in Brookside, and its legacy lives on through our crew and, of course, some of our cast.' Brookside originally aired on the first day that Channel 4 was broadcast on November 2 in 1982 and proved an instant hit with viewers. Fan favourites included Bobby and Sheila and Grant, played by Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston. The show launched the careers of many industry heavyweights including Anna Friel, Amanda Burton and Claire Sweeney. At its peak, the show drew in audiences of nine million viewers before it came to a close on November 4 2003. Across its run, the show took on issues such as LGBT+ and hard hitting storylines like rape, bullying and incest. In 1985, teenage character Gordon Collins came out to his family as gay on the soap. The character, played by both Mark Burgess and Nigel Crowley, became the first ever openly gay character in a British TV series when the episode aired. Brookside also had the first pre-watershed lesbian kiss in British history between characters Beth Jordache, played by Anna Friel, and Margaret Clemence, who was portrayed by future Emmerdale actress Nicola Stephenson. Anna's career has taken her to America where she has appeared in the comedy series Pushing Daisies, opposite Susan Sarandon in country music drama Monarch and alongside Bradley Cooper in the film Limitless. Silent Witness actress Amanda, Hollyoaks actress Alex Fletcher, and West End musical star Claire Sweeney also began their careers on the soap.

I'm A Celebrity icon tipped to return as hotly anticipated All Stars takes shape
The I'm A Celebrity… South Africa all-stars series is officially returning to ITV later in 2025—and several legendary jungle stars are in talks to come back. Starting in 2024, I'm A Celebrity… South Africa reunites old campmates from the ITV game show. This time, however, they're trading the Australian jungle for the desert. Last series saw the likes of Shaun Ryder, Gillian McKeith, Helen Flanagan, Phil Tufnell, and Jordan Banjo giving up luxuries for a gruelling challenge once more. The competition was ultimately won by Myleene Klass, who had originally finished second during the show's sixth series almost 20 years ago… but now, some more famous faces are coming for her crown. According to new reports, the latest former campmate being eyed up by bosses is none other than Ashley Roberts, whose first Jungle stint came in 2012. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. Speaking of a potential return from the Pussycat Doll, 43, a source teased that there could be some very memorable scenes from her, thanks to one key element of the camp. 'Producers would love to see Ashley head back to camp. She's warm, hilarious, and, of course, drop-dead gorgeous. 'Just like Myleene Klass, who won the first All Stars series back in 2023, Ashley had some iconic moments soaping up in the outback waterfall,' they told The Sun. But that's not all, as a former fifth-place contestant is also looking set to go back, just three years after first taking on the dreaded trials. Reportedly keen for more, comedian Seann Walsh, 39, previously used the programme to redeem himself after his Strictly Come Dancing kissing scandal four years prior. A TV insider explained to The Sun that trying to claw back some of his reputation was 'no mean feat', given that 'he'd been branded an aggressive gaslighter as a result of his fling with Katya (Jones) and his treatment of his girlfriend.' 'Yet he managed to emerge as one of the more popular campmates and actually finished in a respectable fifth place in the contest,' shared the source. 'Part of the reason why he came across comparatively well was because he went into I'm A Celebrity with an even bigger love rat. 'His entry into the camp was alongside former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who was at the centre of an exclusive in The Sun revealing he had had an affair with a political adviser, Gina Coladangelo, in 2021.' But the rumour mill doesn't stop spinning there, as beloved King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp is also said to be close to signing on the dotted line with ITV bosses. As per The Sun, Harry, 78, who became the oldest-ever winner in 2018 and was paid £500,000 for his stint, will fly back out for round two in autumn before the series airs in the New Year. 'It's going to be a real coup,' a source told the paper. 'Harry is TV gold and was first on the list of wannabe celebrity contestants.' The football icon's win in the main series was watched by 11million people, with the nation reduced to tears as he was reunited with his wife, Sandra, on the bridge after, having frequently declared his love for her while in camp. Harry's first run for Jungle champ made him one of the programme's high earners, but the likes of Coleen Rooney and Nigel Farage still come out on top, having received a mega £1.5million for their signings. And Harry's people are remaining tight-lipped on his career plans currently, as a spokesperson for the sports star said in response to the rumours: 'This is speculation.' Meanwhile, there's another huge name already attached to the upcoming South Africa series… and it's Gemma Collins. The Towie star and TV personality, 44, is one of the most treasured personalities on British TV, and ITV is apparently hoping she'll boost viewing figures again this time around. Gemma infamously only managed three days in the Jungle when she was last on the show and made no secret of how much she hated every second. 'People who murder get treated better than this,' she famously said before quitting. 'That's the truth. Even a murderer gets fed three times a day.' Gemma's tears and tantrums gave social media a meme collection that still gets used today, so it's no surprise she's wanted back. A source told The Sun previously: 'She hated it first time round, but knows it would be TV gold for her fans if she gave it another go. 'The discussions could go either way, but signing her would be a huge win for execs.' For Gemma fans hoping she'll give I'm A Celebrity a second try, the recent rumours line up very nicely with comments the Dancing On Ice star made in 2019. Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, she said: 'I will never forget getting the call. Looking back, I don't feel I was ready for that show. I was new to TV; I was the underdog on Towie. 'I wasn't the best-looking girl, I didn't have a model figure, I was this car girl from Romford selling cars. I was being put in the Jungle, and in hindsight, I wasn't ready for it.' She continued: I felt hugely out of my depth—I was petrified. If I was to go back now, I've got more experience. I've got a tougher skin now, and I think that's where the GC came into play. If they asked me back, yes, I'd go back.' Things didn't get off to a good start when Gemma went into the jungle in 2014, firstly refusing to parachute into camp with the rest of her teammates. She then withdrew due to panic attacks and later said that her ex-boyfriend, Alexander Moss, had 'severely beaten' her the night before she joined. The reality star said that ITV advised against her entering at first, but Gemma insisted she didn't want to waste the opportunity of a lifetime. Alexander, now 44, was eventually jailed for 21 months in 2019. Gemma told the Everything I Know About Me podcast: '[There was] all the embarrassment of like, you know what the TV programmes were saying, 'Gemma Collins left the Jungle, she was hungry, she was this.' And it wasn't my fault. More Trending 'I can remember lying in my flat where I lived and just thinking, I just want to die. I haven't done anything wrong. I've left the Jungle because of something that happened to me.' ITV has been contacted for comment. I'm a Celebrity… South Africa will return to ITV1 and ITVX early next year. I was so stressed after my dream £6k honeymoon cruise was cancelled my face COLLAPSED & was left PARALYSED
Gail was told the cruise was being cancelled as she prepared to board FACE IT I was so stressed after my dream £6k honeymoon cruise was cancelled my face COLLAPSED & was left PARALYSED Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A NEWLY-WED'S face collapsed from stress after her dream honeymoon was cancelled at the last minute. Gail Morgan, 50, suffered a Bell's Palsy attack, paralysing the muscles down one side of her face after the £6,000 cruise was postponed just prior to boarding - and then axed completely. They say, subsequently, their treatment by operator Celebrity Cruises has been "disgusting" - and they've only received a third of the value back as vouchers. Gail told The Sun: 'I was inconsolable. I broke down in tears. 'The heartbreak of losing our honeymoon and my 50th birthday trip, a holiday we had looked forward to for years, was overwhelming. 'And still, not a single word of communication from Celebrity Cruises. 'I recently completed my masters in social care, and this was also meant to celebrate my achievement. 'But the very next day, my facial muscles on the right side of my face stiffened up. 'Since then, my face has been stiff. I'm still going through it.' Upon return to the UK, a doctor's assessment confirmed that the 'emotional trauma and psychological stress' were 'direct contributing factors to the onset of Bell's Palsy'. The cruise was due to depart from Port Miami on July 20. Inside Love Island winners Kai and Sanam's lavish honeymoon in Bali Initially, the cruise was delayed by a day, before it was cancelled due to a 'technical issue' affecting the liner's speed. Morgan added: 'We're working class people from a small village in Wales. 'It took us three years to save for this, skipping out on holidays and life's little luxuries. 'This was meant to be a milestone. 'Celebrity Cruises didn't even inform us of the initial delay and then the outright cancellation. 'We were informed by strangers who overheard our conversations. 'When we finally knew that it was cancelled, we couldn't even make emergency calls and had to borrow people's phones because we had British numbers.' Morgan and Davies were issued with a credit voucher each, both totalling £2,619. However, Morgan told The Sun: 'This is not good enough. 'First of all, you can't use the vouchers together, you can only use one voucher per cruise. 'You can't use the vouchers on special offers either, forcing people like us, who are working class, to pay for more expensive cruises. 'On top of that, they said they can't reimburse us for other charges incurred, like the taxi fee to get to the hotel. 'We didn't ask for any of this, and the way they have treated us has been disgusting.' A spokesperson for Celebrity Cruises said: "Celebrity Cruises is in contact with the guest and their travel agent directly on this matter."
