LSU football makes final five for top-10 2026 offensive lineman
LSU football made the cut for an elite offensive line recruit in the 2026 cycle. According to a report from On3's Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday, the Tigers are a part of Samuel Roseborough's top five.
Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State and Ohio State make up the other four schools. Roseborough took at unofficial visit to Baton Rouge in December and said the overall environment separated the program from the rest.
"What sticks out to me mainly about LSU is the culture and how they develop up front," Roseborough said.
A four-star offensive tackle, Roseborough ranks No. 7 at his position and No. 139 overall in the class, according to On3's Industry Rankings. The Clearwater, FL native is the No. 19 recruit in his home state.
LSU holding a place in Roseborough's top five is huge, especially since early reports said he was high on both Texas teams and his home state schools in Florida State and Florida. Should he choose the Tigers, he would join the SEC's top 2026 class alongside fellow offensive line commitments Brysten Martinez and Jalen Chapman.
According to On3's class rankings, LSU's 2026 class ranks No. 2 in college football, only trailing USC. LSU has two five-stars on board with Tristen Keys and Richard Anderson.
The Tigers have recruited the trenches well with Brian Kelly and offensive line coach Brad Davis. If LSU can land Roseborough, that trend continues.

However, Oregon offered him last week, and he has since seen his rating bump up to a 4-star on On3, received offers from a pair of SEC schools, and taken visits to the Ole Miss Rebels and Alabama Crimson Tide. It came out on Monday that Beaver was taking an official visit to Oregon this coming weekend, and 247Sports recruiting analyst Blair Angulo also logged a Crystal Ball prediction for Beaver to commit to the Ducks. Beaver's rating on 247Sports is far below where On3 has him, leading to some debate about where he currently stands in the recruiting world. While On3 rates Beaver as a 4-star prospect and the No. 19 QB in the 2026 class, 247Sports has him as a 3-star and the No. 71 QB in the class. Regardless of what the ratings say, Oregon is obviously intrigued by what Beaver brings to the table, and they want him as a member of their 2026 class. The Ducks are also in on 5-star QB Ryder Lyons, who took an official to Eugene last weekend. Lyons is going to decide between Oregon and the BYU Cougars in the near future, but he is planning to take an LDS mission out of high school, so he is more like a member of the 2027 class. Watch: Arkansas' Gage Wood throws first College World Series no-hitter in 65 years
June 17 (UPI) -- Gage Wood said he had one thing on his mind after tossing a strike for the final out of a historic College World Series no-hitter, which led Arkansas past Murray State and extended his season: "We're not going home." Wood secured just the third no-hitter in the history of the College Baseball World Series to lead the Razorbacks past the Murray State Racers on Monday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. The Razorbacks, who lost to LSU on Saturday, needed a win to stay in contention in the double-elimination tournament. Advertisement Wood fired 119 pitches, including 83 strikes, en route to the first College Baseball World Series no-hitter since Jim Wixson threw one for Oklahoma State in 1960. Wood logged 19 strikeouts -- a record for a nine-inning Men's College World Series game. He ended the 3-0 victory with five-consecutive punch-outs and retired the final batter with a 97-mph fastball. "The only special thing was -- I didn't want to go home," Wood, who mixed in fastballs, cutters, curveballs and changeups for the historic effort, told reporters. "That's it." Wood mostly leaned on his fastball and curveball to retire the Racers with strikeouts, fly outs and grounders early on. He then went on a seven-consecutive strikeouts from the third through fifth innings. Advertisement Outfielder Charles Davalan gave the Razorbacks a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the third. The Razorbacks added two more runs in the seventh, including one off a double from shortstop Wehiwa Aloy. Wood lost his perfect game bid when he hit Racers second baseman Dominic Decker with a pitch to start the eighth. First baseman Luke Mistone fouled out in the next exchange. Wood then retired the final five Racers batters with strikeouts. "I shouldn't have hit that guy," Wood said. "That's it, that's all I've got to say." Texas' Jim Ehrler threw the first no-hitter in College Baseball World Series in a 1960 win over Tufts. Wixson's 1960 no-no came in a win over North Carolina. Advertisement "We're not going home," Wood said. "We get to play [Tuesday] night. But it was pretty cool." The Razorbacks will look to avoid elimination again when they face LSU or UCLA at 7 p.m. EDT Tuesday in Omaha. LSU and UCLA are set to face off at 11 a.m. Tuesday in a resumption of their matchup from Monday, which was suspended because of rain and lightning. LSU led 5-3 through three innings. Wood said he did not expect to be available to return to the mound until the weekend.

In 2024, he rushed for 1,201 yards and eight touchdowns. Over his career at Auburn, Hunter rushed for a total of 3,371 yards and 25 touchdowns. He ranks fourth all-time for the Tigers behind Bo Jackson, Carnell "Cadillac" Williams, and James Brooks. Auburn has to find a new featured running back. Auburn returns Damari Alston and Jeremiah Cobb to the team and welcomes UConn transfer Durell Robinson. One of the Tigers' top recruits from the 2025 class is Alvin Henderson. He played high school football in Elba, Alabama, where he was the AHSAA all-time leading rusher. Henderson is the first high school running back in Alabama to rush for over 10,000 yards. He helped lead a very successful run for the Elba Tigers. Under head coach Marc Sieving, the Tigers went 45-7 with two appearances in the state semi-finals. Henderson is a talented running back and will have to wait his turn to be the featured running back at Auburn.
