Iowa basketball sets transfer portal visit with Grand Canyon big man
One of the Iowa Hawkeyes' transfer portal targets will be making their way to campus next week.
Former Grand Canyon big man Duke Brennan is reportedly set to visit Iowa from April 18-19. The Athletic's Tobias Bass reports that Brennan will also visit Stanford April 11-13 and Villanova April 15-17.
The 6-foot-10, 250 pound forward averaged 10.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game while shooting 64.6% from the field and 65.4% from the free throw line last season. Brennan scored in double figures in 19 games during the 2024-25 campaign, including 10 double-doubles.
The Chandler, Ariz., native began his career at Arizona State where he played in 36 games and started one during the 2022-23 season. Brennan morphed into a starter at Grand Canyon where he played and started in 65 games over the past two seasons.

Spartans extend official offer to Pitt commit, 4-star RB prospect from Baltimore
Michigan State football has extended an official offer to a top 20 running back in the 2026 class. Damon Ferguson of Baltimore announced on Monday that he's received his official offer from the Spartans. Ferguson is verbally committed to Pitt, but was once strongly considering the Spartans before announcing his commitment to the Panthers in early June. August 1 was the first day for schools to extend official offers to prospects in the 2026 class. Ferguson is a four-star running back prospect, with a recruiting rating of 91.20 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 17 running back and No. 263 overall prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings for the 2026 class. Michigan State was previously prioritizing Ferguson but ultimately came up short in the recruiting battle with Pitt. This latest update of him receiving his official offer from the Spartans could suggest Michigan State is still pursuing him as a priority player, or it, of course, could simply be keeping the door open should he elect to reconsider his commitment to Pitt. Either way, this is a big-time player to keep an eye on as we lead up to signing day in December -- especially since Michigan State still has not landed a verbal commitment from a running back prospect in the 2026 class. Former UNC running back the favorite for Dallas Cowboys' starting gig
Can you imagine starting for the Dallas Cowboys? Javonte Williams "continues to see the most reps with the starters", per @ RB1 spot is getting clearer in Dallas 👀 North Carolina is quickly earning a reputation for their running backs over the years and sending them to the NFL UNC's most recent backfield addition to the NFL is Omarion Hampton, who became the Los Angeles Chargers' 22nd overall pick in April. Before Hampton, North Carolina sent the likes of Ty Chandler, Michael Carter and Javonte Williams to the NFL. Only Williams, who rushed for 1,140 yards during the Tar Heels' 2020 season, remains as a starting-caliber NFL back. Williams, now a member of the Dallas Cowboys, is all-but-confirmed as Dallas' 2025 starter. On Monday, Jon Machota of The Athletic said Williams is emerging as the Cowboys' RB1 option, thanks to a strong Training Camp. Williams, who didn't play in Dallas' preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams, signed a 1-year deal earlier in the offseason. Williams is competing against Deuce Vaughn, Jaydon Blue and former 1,000-yard rusher Miles Sanders for the Cowboys' starting job. Williams made an immediate impact for the Denver Broncos during his rookie season, rushing for a career-high 903 yards and four touchdowns. Since suffering a knee injury early in 2022, Williams bounced between starting action and bench production. During Denver's long-awaited return to the NFL Postseason in 2024, Williams found the end zone four times, tying his rookie high and hinting at increased production. Dallas made a head-scratching decision to release Ezekiel Elliott after 2023 – and hasn't found consistent backfield production since. Williams might not be the Cowboys' running back of their future, but the former UNC back has a great chance to prove himself as that guy in 2025.
