Brad Pitt demands Angelina Jolie's private messages in new legal filing

Metro10-07-2025
It's been almost nine years since Hollywood's golden couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their divorce, but legal issues are still rumbling in.
While their divorce was officially finalised in December 2024, the Mr & Mrs Smith stars are still wrangling over their jointly-owned French winery, Chateau Miraval.
Now, the Daily Mail reports the F1 actor, 61, has logged documents – seen by the publication – laying out his attempt to acquire the 50-year-old's communications, which he thinks could provide evidence in the ongoing battle which will support his 'core claims' in the case.
In a 2022 suit, Pitt claimed the Tomb Raider selling her $64million stake to SPI Group owner Yuri Shefler was in violation of their previous agreement to not sell up without the other's approval.
Meanwhile, Jolie alleged that Pitt secretly manoeuvred to take control of Château Miraval and in a counter-suit claimed he'd been 'waging a vindictive war against' her since she filed for divorce in 2016.
Documents filed in the Superior Court of California show the Fight Club actor has now demanded private communications between Jolie and Stoli Group's Alexey Oliynik, who Pitt claims has firsthand knowledge of the sale.

Oliynik has refused to turn over the documents, arguing that he is a resident of Switzerland so should not be forced to do so.
'These requests go directly to key allegations about Pitt's objections to the sale,' Pitt's legal team wrote in the documents, per People, and 'easily meet the standard for discoverability given Pitt's allegations that Jolie acted with malice in selling to Stoli, a counterparty she knew Pitt opposed'.
Jolie filed for divorce after two years of marriage and more than a decade together following alleged abusive behaviour from Pitt on a private flight, which he denies.
The Maleficent actress accused her husband of being drunk and aggressive. She claims he grabbed her by the head, injured her back and elbow, choked one of their children, and struck another.
The altercation was said to have started between him and one of his children, which escalated into a physical fight, in which he poured beer and wine over his family, Jolie claimed.
Five days later Jolie filed for divorce.
This claim triggered investigations by the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services.
Pitt was not charged, but the accusations cast a long shadow and fuelled a contentious custody battle over their family of six adopted and biological children.
Pitt has always denied all the claims made against him, and previously responded to them via a statement from his lawyer, which read: 'Brad has owned everything he's responsible for from day one – unlike the other side – but he's not going to own anything he didn't do.'
'He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation.'
Jolie adopted Maddox Chivan, 23, in 2002 from an orphanage in Cambodia, before Zahara Marley, 20, who was born in Ethiopia. Pitt adopted them too in 2006 after arriving on the scene.
That same year, the couple welcomed their first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel, 19, before adopting Pax Thien, 21, from Vietnam. In 2008, they welcomed twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, 16.
While Pitt was awarded joint custody of their children in 2021, it was reported last year he has visitation rights for the younger kids, but 'virtually no contact' with his adult children, as per People.
Indeed, the eldest children appear to be distancing themselves from their famous father, with 18-year-old Shiloh filing to drop Pitt from her last name.
Meanwhile, Vivienne dropped her dad's last name on the playbill for her musical The Outsiders, appearing just as Vivienne Jolie.

In 2020, Brad's friends flocked to support him after a then 16-year-old Pax shared a scathing Father's Day message, written on top of a picture of the actor collecting his Oscar for Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
'Happy Father's Day to this world-class a**hole,' he said.
'You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person.'
In the post, unearthed by MailOnline, Pax went on: 'You have no consideration or empathy towards your four youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence. More Trending
'You will never understand the damage you have done to my family because you are incapable of doing so.'
Pax concluded: 'You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell. You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want but the truth will come to light someday.
'So Happy Father's Day, you f*****g awful human being.'
Those in Brad's inner circle branded the allegations a 'depressing smear'.

Murdered gangland hit victim named and details emerge of just how his underworld killers knew exactly where to find him - as he's gunned down just metres from a kindergarten

A man shot dead in a daylight attack near a kindergarten in Melbourne 's outer north had been heading to court when he was gunned down just before 9am. Daily Mail can reveal Athan Boursinos, 21, was due to appear in court on Thursday and is believed to have been on his way there when his assassins struck. Boursinos had been due in court on Thursday to face drug and weapon possession offences, theft of a vehicle and other driving offences. The matter was administratively adjourned to August 14, with bail extended in his absence. Boursinos is suspected of being linked to the daylight gangland execution of underworld figure Sam 'The Punisher' Abdulrahim. Detectives admitted the murder appeared to be 'very deliberate and obviously targeted' and Boursinos was 'known' to them. Images given to the Daily Mail revealed the well-dressed dead man's body lying close to a grey BMW with the driver door open and the engine apparently still running. A neighbour said her brother heard the shots and ran out to see the man's last breaths before he died. The man was shot dead in a daylight attack near a kindergarten in Melbourne's outer north A woman believed to be the dead man's fiancée and a man believed to be his father gathered at the scene as police began their investigation 'My brother did hear the shots and he went and saw him still moving until he lost his life,' the neighbour who did not wish to be named said. 'Straight away he went out [toward the deceased man], I think the neighbour next door also talked to him. 'We were able to see the body from our backyard, I have shown [footage] to the police.' He added: '[The dead man] has been living around here. 'Sometimes there's issues where police get involved, cars sometimes come, young people always around, 'We don't know him personally - we just know him as neighbours. Homicide squad Detective Inspector Dean Thomas said police believed there was a confrontation between two men in Game Lane, a laneway behind Champions Parade just before 9am. The gunman shot and killed the man in the laneway before fleeing in a vehicle. Neighbours say the Boursinos lived just 20m from where he was gunned down. 'We also have reports of a vehicle being found burnt out in Amery Street in Reservoir. Det Insp Thomas told reporters. 'We don't know if that is linked to this particular incident this morning. We will work now to piece together what has gone on to identify those responsible.' The detective said police had not yet formally identified the dead man, but he was known to police. Friends and associates of the dead man, including a woman believed to be his fiancée and a man in a white balaclava, gathered at the scene moments after the killing. Police separated the dead man's supporters from the media after hostile confrontations between the two. Underworld sources have suggested the dead man was the getaway driver in the hit on Abdulrahim in January. Abdulrahim was gunned down by a team of assassins on January 28 in the underground car park at Preston's Quest Hotel in Melbourne's north. The champion kickboxer had been a key player in Melbourne's ongoing 'tobacco wars', which has seen shops around the state torched in a deadly turf war. A crime scene has been established on Champions Parade in Wollert, in Melbourne's north, following the fatal shooting. Independent journalist Ryan Naumenko's news site Outlaw Media was quick to label the alleged murder a gangland hit. 'The young man murdered this morning at 9am is suspected of being the killer of Sam ... Abdulrahim,' he wrote. 'Sam's murder was a blessing. If the information I have is right ... this will be bigger than World War 3.' Naumenko had personally been targeted by Abdulrahim before the gangster was gunned down in his car. No-one has been charged for his murder, amid fears the gunmen may have already fled overseas.
