Feature Video: Foxwarren - Deadhead
Born from the brain of renowned animator and director Joe Cappa (who has made original work for Adult Swim, Toro y Moi, Judd Apatow, Giphy and more), the clip for 'Deadhead' blends Joe's signature surrealist style with Foxwarren's indie-folk sensibilities.'I've been a long-time fan of Andy Shauf and Foxwarren so I was honoured to make something for them' says Joe. 'If I had it my way the video would be about a bunch of golfers in their mid 30s doing celebratory dances after sinking putts, but I was trying to keep it within the aesthetic of the album which was a little more rustic and nature-y. I'm happy with the end result.'
'I bought a bunch of wigs and medieval costumes and sort of came up with the premise of the video as I was dressing the puppets. When I put the blonde wig and mustache on the main character it really spoke to me. Those legs on the flute playing baby are my 10 month old son's.'
Foxwarren's Andy Shauf says that this music video is 'definitely the first time I've been brought to tears by a music video for my own song', which is high praise given that Shauf is a rage favourite specifically for the ambitiously weird (in the good way), usually animated music videos that have always accompanied his solo work.
The fantastical clip serves as a final preview for Foxwarren's new album, 2, and was created in the bands' own home studios across four Canadian provinces with band members Shauf, Avery and Darryl Kissick, Dallas Bryson, and Colin Nealis all collabing on shared song ideas, melodic phrases, and rhythmic bits in an online shared folder. Never let anyone tell you that WFH doesn't produce results.
A parting message from Foxwarren, to intrepid travellers: 'To all the deadheads, we say 'don't stop dancing.''

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have already ‘cooled off' their headline-making romance
Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's budding romance has reportedly 'cooled off' due to their busy schedules and Trudeau being uncomfortable with the spotlight that comes with dating the pop star. After the duo was snapped last month on an intimate dinner date in Montreal and he later attended her sold-out Lifetimes tour stop in Canada, their communication has 'waned in the past two weeks,' the Daily Mail reported Monday. 'She's busy, he's busy,' an insider shared with the outlet, which also reported that the two previously texted 'non-stop' in July. 'They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off.' 'But there's nothing negative about it,' the insider continued. 'They just aren't in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is. It has cooled off.' The former Canadian Prime Minister was also reportedly bothered by the massive attention his dinner date with Perry received, which happened weeks after news broke of the singer's split from Orlando Bloom. 'I know for a fact that Justin wasn't thrilled about the pictures getting out,' the source said. 'It was a first date. A first date! And these pictures came out and it became this huge thing, which is not what he seems to have wanted.' The source noted Trudeau was 'not prepared' for all the attention that comes with dating Perry. 'It can be a lot and it can be overwhelming,' the source explained. A second source told the publication that currently, Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, are just friends. 'She isn't ready to start dating anyone right now, she has to continue to focus on her healing from separating from Orlando,' the source said. Although Perry and Trudeau's pairing came as a surprise to many, they reportedly had an 'instant connection' after meeting. 'They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes,' a source previously told People. 'She is travelling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada.' 'There is an attraction,' the source added. 'They have a lot in common.' Trudeau separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple shares three children: sons Xavier, 17, and Hadrien, 11, and daughter Ella-Grace, 16. Perry and Bloom confirmed their split in early July after nearly 10 years together. The two share a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy.

Catherine Zeta-Jones insists owning 4 homes is ‘not excessive'
Catherine Zeta-Jones doesn't consider owning four homes 'excessive.' The Mask of Zorro star and her husband, Michael Douglas, own four properties — two homes in New York, one in Canada and one in Spain, Page Six reports. 'I know it sounds very jet set, and I love to surround myself with beauty but it's not excessive, it's very comfortable,' the 55-year-old Oscar-winner told the Sunday Times. The Wednesday actress also said she wasn't afraid to splurge on non-practical items. 'I go to all the vintage stores in Paris,' she shared. 'I buy things that you are probably never going to wear, like a gorgeous cape, just great pieces. 'I am loving classic Yves Saint Laurent at the moment. I get excited about evening dresses.' 'For me, a pair of jeans is a pair of jeans. Spending £200 ($A416) on a white T-shirt? Nah,' she continued. 'But when it comes to couture, beautiful beading, the artistry … I love the theatre of fashion.' 'She loves my closet,' the mother of two told the outlet. 'I have probably the biggest Fendi Baguette bag collection, and she's just found more in my mum's house. I've got everything from denim to pearl to sequins.' A Fendi Baguette bag currently retails for up to $US11,500 ($A17,700). 'Carla Fendi used to give them to me all the time, right when they were hot potatoes,' she added. Zeta-Jones also joked about her and Douglas, 80, keeping their Oscars in separate houses. She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2003 for her role as Velma Kelly in Chicago, and Douglas won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Gordon Gekko in 1988's Wall Street. 'Mine is in the country house in New York, Michael's is in the apartment in New York,' she revealed. 'We keep them apart, just in case, you know, there isn't like hanky-panky going on there.' The Welsh actress noted that she and her husband respect each other's space. They've been married since November 2000 and share two kids together: Carys and their 25-year-old son, Dylan. 'We don't listen to the crap that is written about us, that's the main thing,' she said of their relationship. 'And we respect our space, we're independent spirits. We are very similar; we were born on the same day, 25 years apart.' 'We're not afraid to be verbal, to express ourselves,' she continued. 'I wear everything on my sleeve and so does he, which is good.' Zeta-Jones addressed Douglas telling Variety last month that he's 'purposely' stepped away from his acting career and has no intentions of going back. 'Michael has definitely earned the chance to slow down,' Zeta-Jones commented, noting that he now plans to play a lot more golf. 'But I never say never. He's his father's son and loves to work — let's just say, 'retirement' is a flexible concept.' Parts of this story first appeared in Page Six and was republished with permission.
