But Sam has since revealed tat his Soccer Aid appearance is hanging in the balance as he continues to recover from his gruelling charity run.
Now, in a new health update, Sam said: ' 'Trying to get those legs right for soccer aid!! I WILL play a part [laughing face emoji].'
He could be seen standing in an ice bath in his post shared to fans, and held onto the sides while grimacing.
The star seemed to suggest that he will be doing all he can from now until Soccer Aid, to make sure he can be a part of the day.
The former Made In Chelsea star is set to come face-to-face with ex girlfriend Zara's new man, One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, if he takes part.
Both Sam and Louis will be playing for England, which they have done in previous years.
It follows another recent update from the star, while speaking on Hits Radio.
He said his body is still suffering, and explained: 'I am so tired but elated. I'm so glad we got it done…
"Never again [am I getting on a bike] I think I'm prone to saddle issues! After day one I still to this point can't feel bits of my privates. I'm being deadly serious!
Sam Thompson breaks down in tears as he's comforted by sister Louise and family after completing 260-mile endurance challenge on This Morning
"The bike is a wild thing, Tracey who was with me going up these hills when we were skirting round the edge of Wales, that was mad and you're just going so slowly and you feel like your bike is going to topple over! I did think to myself this is the first time I've ridden a bike in so long..."
Detailing how adapting for one leg issue has aggravated others, Sam continued: "Because I was running in a different way my shin was really inflamed so I couldn't even run on my tiptoes so I was running side to side.
"I describe it as plugging holes, so like the calf tears so that's one hole you've got to plug so then I run on my tiptoes with my leg straight.
"OK well that then messes up my ankle ligaments because everything is running through your ankle; then your ankle ligament explodes so then you can't do that... you're trying to play chess against yourself, whilst trying not to panic because I can't move my leg and it's still pretty bad."
Though it's up in the air if he'll be fit in time to step onto the pitch at the weekend, Sam is still going to be a presence at training sessions in the build up under the care of Gary the physio.
He said: "I'm just going to go lie on his bed every single day and get a rub down...!"
Sam cuddled his sister Louise after finishing the challenge but his girlfriend Samie Elishi wasn't in attendance.
He also received a phone call from Orlando Bloom in the This Morning studio who congratulated him on the superhuman effort.
Chris Hughes, Ryan Libbey and Josh Patterson were all on hand at various points of the challenge to offer support.

Dua Lipa finally confirms engagement to Callum Turner

It's been half a year since Dua Lipa, 29, sparked engagement speculation after flashing a chunky ring over Christmas— and it's finally official. The Levitating hitmaker revealed that she is engaged to her boyfriend Callum Turner after he proposed with a very special ring. An Instagram photo dump first sparked rumours as a sparkling diamond could be seen on that finger, but Dua stayed silent. Months after teasing fans, she confirmed in an interview with British Vogue that she and Callum, 35, are set to tie the knot. 'Yeah, we're engaged,' last year's Glastonbury headliner cooly shared. 'It's very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling.' Dua revealed that Callum popped the question with a custom-made ring, which he had consulted with her sister Rina over. 'I'm obsessed with it,' she continued. 'It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' The happy couple began dating in January 2024 and made their relationship Instagram official in July. Dua was first spotted out with the Fantastic Beasts actor in March, with the pair grabbing a spot of dinner on date night in London. The Houdini icon had seen him before they began dating, having bumped into each other at The River Cafe and been introduced by the co-founder and Table 4 podcast host Ruth Rogers. At this point, Callum was simply 'that really hot guy' from the cafe, but a year later, their paths crossed once more, and she took the plunge. Book fanatic Dua bonded with the actor over the fact they were both reading the same novel — a real compatibility test. Despite this meet-cute, the duo are not rushing down the aisle as between Callum's film shoots and Dua's tour there is little time to plan. 'We're just enjoying this period,' she explained. 'I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' We're sure whatever Dua chooses to wear will be a show-stopper. When the rumours of their engagement began last year, a source told The Sun: 'They are engaged and couldn't be happier. 'Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally, and this is the cherry on the cake. Callum is such a solid support for Dua, and they make a wonderful couple.' Last year was certainly a big one for the Future Nostalgia icon as she headlined Glastonbury alongside Coldplay and Sza. Her set was praised by festival goers, filled with big hits, dance numbers, and a guest appearance from Tame Impala. However, it wasn't just on stage she was making an impact as Dua went viral for an interaction with a man who sang to her backstage. More Trending Dua was enjoying some downtime wandering around the 15000-acre site when a fan armed with a ukulele stopped her. The Camden busker introduced himself, and said: 'I want to play you 30 seconds of my song and if you like it, I just want your reaction.' Glancing at the camera, Dua agreed with the busker launching into exactly 30 seconds of his ukulele song before she cut him off and said, 'Well done mate. So good, so good.' As she attempted to escape, the guy asked for a hug — which Dua politely obliged before high-tailing it out of there and making a beeline for Callum. Got a story? 80s Scottish pop rock musician 'seriously ill' in intensive care

Deacon Blue keyboard player James Prime is 'seriously' ill after being rushed to hospital. Formed in Glasgow in 1985, the Scottish pop rock band's line-up also includes vocalists Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh, drummer Dougie Vipond, guitarist Gregor Philp and bassist Lewis Gordon. Since releasing their debut album Raintown in 1987, the band have achieved 12 UK top 40 singles and have sold over seven million copies of their 12 albums. However just a few months after the release of their album The Great Western Road, the band have revealed James, 64, is currently seriously unwell. 'Dear friends, we wanted to share some news with you about our brother, Jim,' they began. 'Unfortunately, he is seriously ill and undergoing care in hospital. We would like you to join us in wishing him well and to share our love with him. The band, who are currently on tour across the UK went on to say James had 'encouraged us to continue' 'We spoke to Jim yesterday about Deacon Blue's plans for the rest of the year, and he encouraged us to continue with love in our hearts and with his full blessing that the shows go ahead, even if it means replacing the irreplaceable James Miller Prime for the time being,' they continued. 'Together with Jim's family, we want to thank all the nurses, doctors and ICU staff for their ongoing care, professionalism and compassion.' It is not clear what James has been hospitalised with. Fans of the band rushed to support the musician, sending messages of support. 'Wishing Jim all the positive vibes for recovery,' Alison commented on Instagram. 'Sending much love. Get well soon!' Steph shared. 'All love, prayers, and harmonic thoughts to the mighty Jim Prime,' Eve added. More Trending Born in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, James began his career as a session musician on an Altered Images tour of the US in 1980. It was after the band split up that he helped form Deacon Blue, who grew to become one of Scotland's best-known acts. After splitting in 1994, they re-formed five years later and have since released seven more albums. Got a story? Brit influencer and husband feared dead in Air India plane crash hours after final post

Wellness guru Jamie Meek and husband Fiongal Greenlaw posted a video from Ahmedabad airport just moments before boarding the ill-fated plane. A British influencer and his husband are among those feared dead after an Air India plane heading to London Gatwick smashed into a college with hundreds on board. Just moments before boarding the ill-fated plane, wellness guru Jamie Meek and husband Fiongal Greenlaw posted a video from Ahmedabad airport. As reported by the Mirror, Meek, 45, and Greenlaw, 39, co-founded the Wellness Foundry, a company promoting holistic living. ‌ The couple, who are based in London, had been on a holiday in India and had previously made appearances on ITV's This Morning to showcase their wellness brand. The final video shared from the airport showed the couple in vibrant floral shirts, smiling and relaxed as they prepared to fly home. ‌ In the clip, Fiongal says, 'We are at the airport just boarding. Goodbye India. Ten-hour flight back to England. What was your biggest takeaway Jamie?' to which Jamie replies, 'I don't know,' prompting laughter from Fiongal who responds 'thanks for your contribution.' Fiongal then jokingly says his takeaway was 'don't lose your patience with your partner,' to which Jamie replied 'you snapped at me at the airport for having chai.' Fiongal, who is surrounded by fellow travellers, ends the clip by saying he's returning to the UK 'happily, happily calm.' Earlier videos captured highlights of their time in Ahmedabad, including scenes from a luxury hotel following a long car journey. Fiongal can be seen in one clip stretched out on a large bed, showcasing a swing in their room, calling the space 'beautiful' and adding he is 'feeling very, very happy.' ‌ The couple are believed to have spent two weeks in India, documenting their travels through numerous social media updates. Their shared content included moments such as getting henna tattoos, shopping for textiles, and navigating bustling streets in a tuk-tuk. Fiongal posted a message just one day before the crash marking the end of their trip: 'So, it's our last night in India and we've had a magical experience. Some mind-blowing things have happened. We are going to put all this together and create a vlog. It's my first ever vlog about the whole trip and we want to share it.' Of the 242 people onboard Air India Flight 171, at least 204 bodies have been recovered from the crash site near Ahmedabad Airport, a local police chief said. Part of the jet fell on top of the dining area of B.J. Medical College, killing at least five medical students and injuring almost 50. Miracolously, British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, who was onboard the flight says he survived the deadly crash. Tata Sons, which owns Air India, will offer around £86,000 to the families of each person who died in the Ahmedabad plane crash, the company said.
