In hindsight, it seemed like a strange prediction. The player talked about the prophecy during the podcast episode and said:
"My mom, instead of like my good luck texts [from my dad and sister], she goes, 'watch out for flying d****s tonight.''
In a hilarious turn of events, Mrs. Cunningham was correct when she made that joke. A few hours later, during the game, a fluorescent green s*x toy was thrown onto the court. When it fell quite close to Sophie Cunningham's feet, the game was stopped.
She responded by laughing it off while receiving hugs from her fellow players. Kelsey Plum, on the other hand, stood by her side and aggressively kicked the green object off the court.
