EastEnders Priya and Ravi's future teased with 'mistakes' ahead for the Panesars

Daily Mirror4 days ago

EXCLUSIVE: EastEnders actress Sophie Khan Levy, who plays Priya Nandra-Hart on the BBC soap, has teased plenty of 'love' yet drama ahead for the Panesar household, as well as romance hints
One EastEnders favourite has teased plenty more ahead for the Panesar family, while "mistakes" will bring drama.
Sophie Khan Levy has also teased whether her character Priya Nandra-Hart could finally reunite with ex Ravi Gulati, with more ahead for the pair amid calls from fans for the romance to happen. The actress spoke exclusively to The Mirror at the British Soap Awards 2025, praising her her onscreen family while teasing what fans can expect from the household.

Sophie promised the show would be revisiting Priya and Ravi and whether they might make things work. She also teased more fun and love on the way from the family as a whole, revealing the whole household, including Suki Panesar and Priya and Ravi's kids Avani and Nugget, will feature in new scenes.

There's plenty of "solidarity" between the family, but things might take a turn as they all attempt to be there for each other. Sophie explained, teasing Ravi and Priya's future: "What they do have is love for their kids, and they always put their family first.
"You know, I think everybody wants it, but whether or not they can manage it and can come together or not, I just don't know. We will see." Sophie went on: "They are definitely building something, that's currently a strong famil,y and we'll see if it turns into anything more."
We mentioned how Priya was a huge support to Suki Panesar and Eve Unwin, known as Sukeve to their loyal fans, with viewers also loving the duo who married earlier this year. We also discussed Priya's children Avani and Nugget taking centre stage in their own storylines, and asked Sophie if the family would continue to feature heavily and also stick together as a unit.
The actress revealed she felt "lucky" to be part of the Panesar and Gulati unit, calling her co-stars "family" on and offscreen. She told us: "I think one thing with the Panesar family is you do see that solidarity.
"We're going to see a lot more of that coming up, and how they do work together definitely. But like I say, we don't know if Priya and Ravi are going to be together romantically.

"But for their children, we can definitely expect to see a lot more of them coming together." On her co-stars, she added: "It is such a joy working with everyone in that Panesar family.
"We all get along wonderfully and it really lends itself into playing a family because it feels like that from the inside. I feel very, very lucky to be a part of the family."
Teasing what fans can expect from the coming weeks and months, Sophie told us there could be some trouble on the way. She hinted that the "things we do for love" could see things take an unexpected turn as the characters try to be there for each other."
She spilled: "Love is fully at the centre of that family. The things we do for love can sometimes be, let's say, not quite what you would expect. I think we will see the Panesar family trying to be there for each other and maybe making certain mistakes along the way."

Jeremy Clarkson's daughter made Lisa Hogan 'burst into tears' with comment

Clarkson's girlfriend Lisa recently opened up about her life with the celeb and their tight-knit blended family. Jeremy Clarkson' s partner Lisa Hogan has confessed she burst into tears after a comment made by his daughter, Emily. Hogan recently lifted the lid on her life with the former Top Gear star, revealing that although they aren't engaged, their blended family is extremely close. Emily made a touching comment that left Lisa in bits, the former model explained. Clarkson's daughter Emily, a social media influencer and author, has previously spoken about Lisa's daughter in a very touching way, she said. The 51-year-old explained: "Emily has this podcast called Shall I Delete That? and she spoke about my daughter in such a sweet way that I burst out crying. They've known each other for nine years, and I think they really care about each other." ‌ She also gave some insight into Jeremy's personality away from the public eye, describing him as curious, energetic and enthusiastic, even over the little things. When discussing the idea of marriage, Lisa expressed that she is happy with the way things are, telling the Daily Mail: "Mrs Clarkson? No, thank you, I like Lisa Hogan. We decided not to have children together." ‌ She went on to explain why the pair decided not to have kids together, emphasising their happiness with life as it stands. She said: "We're at a stage where we are not going to have kids. I'm just happy pootling along. I think because of our age, it's much easier." With the new series of Clarkson's Farm, all eyes have been on Lisa and Jeremy's relationship. But it's Jeremy's health that's sparked even more concern following his heart surgery last year, when he had two stents fitted, reported The Mirror. Jeremy observed how he had felt increasingly unwell as the previous series of the show went on. ‌ Speaking to The Sun, Jeremy said: "You can see me becoming more and more ill as the days go on, because I just lose my sense of humour, lose my ability to stay calm. "I get in a proper old panic. I didn't know at the time. I knew I wasn't being me. Because if you don't sleep, it very quickly has an effect." After the surgery, Clarkson admitted he had to get used to a new way of life, abstaining from alcohol and adopting a healthy diet. ‌ Lisa also recently opened up about her clever trick to stop Jeremy from interrupting her during discussions. She explained she has discovered a way to avoid arguing with him, adding: "I'm more conniving than that. Why argue with someone like Jeremy? ‌ "He's so eloquent. I have to be a bit more… nimble. I like the long-term diplomatic approach.' Lisa also gave insight into her partner's personality when the cameras are not rolling. She said: "He's always incredibly inquisitive. His mind is always on the move. He'll come in fizzing with energy about the smallest thing. I like that." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Bake Off legend claims she's been dropped by the BBC after 10 years on TV

Former Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain has claimed that the BBC have 'dropped' her after 10 years. The star, 40, rose to fame after winning the baking competition's sixth series, back when it still aired on BBC One, and featured Mary Berry as a judge next to last man standing Paul Hollywood. Since her 2015 win, Nadiya has become the most recognisable of the competition's winners, launching a series of cooking shows, TV appearances and cookbooks. These shows included Nadiya's Simple Spices, Nadiya's Everyday Baking, Nadiya's Cook Once, Eat Twice and more. However, her journey appears to have hit a 'turning point,' with the celebrity chef describing her reaction as the broadcaster decided not to commission her latest project. Addressing her fans in an emotional Instagram video post, Nadiya spoke of the 'trajectory of change' she's been on recently, and her feeling that as a Muslim woman, she isn't always supported by the industry. In the caption to the five-minute-long video, Nadiya wrote: 'Just a hello from me! Thank you to everyone for being on this journey with me, and I hope you can continue to stay on this journey with me. It wouldn't be what ibe (sic) is if it were not for you guys.' She went on to describe what had happened between herself and the BBC, revealing that 'there will be no more cookery show.' 'The BBC have decided that they didn't want to commission a show. And for me, that was a huge turning point because it's something I've done for the past 10 years. 'It was huge because I was already on this steady trajectory of change and I was thinking about where I wanted my career to go, and when the BBC decided they didn't want to commission the show anymore, it really did kind of solidify everything for me, and it made me dig my heels in and think 'OK, I know where I want to be.'' She continued: 'As a Muslim woman, I work in an industry that doesn't always support people like me or recognise my talent or full potential. 'There's a lot of gaslighting, making me feel like what's actually happening isn't happening.' She went on to say how she wanted to go on and 'work with people who believe in voices of people like me. Stories of people like me. I'm working some new things which I'm excited to tell you guys about.' In the comments below Nadiya's post, her followers shared messages of love, support and dismay at the BBC's decision. 'Thank you for using your platform and speaking up. You're not alone in this 🍉❤️' wrote maxlamanna. 'Start your own channel Nadiya. You don't need the beeb,' commented dublindeed. 'Adored you from the first moment you appeared on TV. Keep pushing for what you believe in, live your most authentic life. That is all that matters 💕' said sarahalicefloral. 'Your voice has a platform. No need for the beeb. Be you! 💕' said leannepowell1. A BBC spokesperson told The Mirror: 'After several wonderful series we have made the difficult decision not to commission another cookery show with Nadiya Hussain at the moment.' However, the BBC's comment does not rule out a future collaboration with the star. 'Nadiya remains a much-valued part of the BBC family, and we look forward to working together on future projects.' Elsewhere in the video, Nadiya spoke of how she had been struggling to post about food recently, due to her feelings on the situation in Gaza, and being 'unwell.' Last year, the mum-of-three revealed that she had been diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases after feeling 'sick and unwell.' She did not specify which conditions she had been diagnosed with, but said that she would speak more when she has a 'better handle' on them. In a video on Instagram, Nadiya explained: 'Over the course of two years, I've been quite unwell. I've just been getting quite sick. 'And over the course of the two years, I've been diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases, which I'm not going to go into now. 'I will go into in the future when I know more about it, and when I have a better handle on it and when I understand it a little bit better. 'But till then I cannot express the importance of listening to your body, of taking care of yourself.' Last year, she also sparked concern from fans after posting a picture of an empty cup of tea on Instagram. More Trending 'Sometimes. Some things have to end. In order to find love. That might be all the love you ever needed. '#Love #hearts #surprises #end #beginning,' she captioned the post – which contained a broken heart at the bottom of its mug. EastEnders star slams BBC soap actors in savage 'haven't got a clue' swipe

Former EastEnders star Jamie Foreman, who played Derek Branning on the BBC show, has taken a swipe at his soap colleagues as he claimed they 'wouldn't last two minutes' outside of Albert Square Former EastEnders actor Jamie Foreman, who portrayed Derek Branning, launched a stinging critique of his ex-cast mates, claiming they "wouldn't last two minutes" in varied acting roles. He also shared how an older actress from the BBC's beloved drama agreed with his stern assessment. Jamie graced Albert Square from November 2011 until December 2012, where his character's scandalous affair with Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace), married to Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), captivated audiences. Derek's tenure ended abruptly with a heart attack in the Christmas Day episode. ‌ Since then, the actor, now 67, has not shied away from expressing his thoughts about fellow performers from the show. ‌ During an appearance on The Lewis Nicholls Show, he said: "The discipline on the set is just... it is just... I was sitting with an older actress on there who is unfortunately not with us any more. "We are sitting on the set and she lent over to me and she went 'haven't got a f***ing clue have they?' And we are watching all these young (actors) thinking they are the bee's knees, you know." Jamie continued his pointed remarks noting: "And the discipline, and directors are going (clears throat) and I am sitting there... would not last two minutes outside of here and invariably none of them do." With a laugh, he wrapped up his musings: "They always end up having to go back so I think I gave a very bad clue there didn't I? I think I have just grassed myself right up on that one." Jamie, who has graced our screens in Double Decker Driving School and Birds of a Feather, opened up further about his stint on EastEnders, describing it as "just another job" and "far from a highlight" of his acting career. ‌ He revealed that he had been approached "many times" to join the soap but only agreed when they consented to a one-year term. However, Jamie, whose film credits include Rise of the Footsoldier and Oliver Twist, expressed disappointment with the soap's management, alleging that they "made promises they never kept". ‌ The actor shared the gruelling schedule of once filming up to 36 scenes a day, which "burnt him out", despite assurances that he wouldn't have to work Saturdays, stating: "I did every Saturday. I was the first in, last out every day." Despite his experiences, he recognised the significance of EastEnders for its audience, acknowledging its "iconic" status and the respect it commands, particularly for the BBC. Following the release of the podcast on YouTube, viewers shared their thoughts, with one commenting: "Fantastic interview. Jamie Foreman so underrated as an actor." Another viewer admitted to having preconceptions about Jamie, saying: "I had misconceptions of Jamie, thinking he would be cocky etc. Dignified, lovely man, I absolutely have the utmost respect for Jamie. Beautiful guy." A third chimed in with praise, remarking: "Great interview and what a talented, humble bloke." EastEnders continues to captivate audiences, airing Monday to Thursday at 7:30 pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
