AEW star Bryan Danielson has admitted that his recent physical involvement at the All In: Texas pay-per-view was not entirely approved by the company's medical staff. The "American Dragon" confirmed that he performed several un-cleared moves during his surprise appearance.
Danielson discussed the incident on the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, hosted by his wife, Brie Garcia, and her sister, Nikki Garcia. He confirmed that despite his year-long absence from the ring, he still got caught up in the moment.
"Some Of Them I Did Not Clear"
During the podcast, Brie asked her husband if he was supposed to do all the moves he performed when he ran in to help "Hangman" Adam Page at All In. Danielson admitted that some of his actions were not pre-approved.
"Well, some of them I had cleared, some of them I did not," Danielson said, before adding with a laugh, "But I was feeling it!"
He specifically mentioned that AEW's Dr. Sampson "did think I was an idiot" for his actions. Despite his recent physical appearances, including a quick match at a TV taping and an appearance at an ROH show, Danielson was firm when asked if he was officially back. "No, I'm not back," he stated.

A Dangerous History
Danielson's admission is significant given his well-documented history of career-threatening injuries. He was famously forced into a multi-year retirement from WWE in 2016 due to a series of concussions and post-concussion seizures. After a long and arduous journey of seeing specialists, he was miraculously cleared to return in 2018.
Danielson's current absence from AEW stems from a neck injury that was worsened at the Dynasty pay-per-view last year. This history explains why his wife, fans, and the AEW medical team would be so concerned about him getting physically involved, especially with un-cleared, high-impact moves like a suicide dive.
A Complicated Relationship
Danielson's appearance at All In was also significant from a storyline perspective. He interfered in the main event Texas Death Match between Jon Moxley and "Hangman" Adam Page.
The men Danielson brawled with—Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, and Gabe Kidd—were all members or associates of the Blackpool Combat Club, a faction that Danielson himself founded alongside Moxley.
Danielson's last televised match was a loss to Moxley at WrestleDream in October 2024. His run-in at All In was a direct confrontation with his former stablemates, suggesting that even if he is "not back," his story with the BCC is far from over.

After more than a year on the sidelines with a devastating leg injury, AEW star Eddie Kingston is one step closer to a return. In a new social media post, the "Mad King" has confirmed that he is finally back inside a wrestling ring and has resumed training. The post is the most positive sign yet that the former Triple Crown champion is nearing the end of his long and arduous rehabilitation process. There is still no official word on when he will return to AEW television. AEW Star Back In The Ring In a post on his Instagram account on Wednesday, Kingston shared a photo from inside a wrestling ring. The caption was simple, profane, but full of the emotion and passion that has defined his career. "F*cking ring," he wrote, signaling his relief and excitement to be back in his element. He suffered a catastrophic leg injury at the NJPW Strong Resurgence event during a match where he lost the STRONG Openweight Championship to Gabe Kidd. During the match, Kingston was put through a table at ringside, but the spot went wrong and his leg smashed violently into the steel guardrail. The impact resulted in a broken tibia and a torn ACL and meniscus, a complex and career-threatening combination of injuries. The Reign of The "Mad King" The injury came at the absolute peak of Eddie Kingston's 20-year career. After decades on the independent circuit, he had finally reached the top of the mountain. At the time of the injury, he was coming off a historic run as a triple crown champion, simultaneously holding the ROH World Championship, the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship, and the inaugural AEW Continental Crown. His journey to becoming a world champion was one of the most emotional and celebrated stories in recent wrestling history. To have that reign cut short by such a severe injury was a tragic development for the beloved brawler. His return to in-ring training is a monumental step in his comeback story. Darby Allin picking up right where he left off could be cherry on top of AEW's Death Riders story

Maybe Darby Allin didn't miss his chance after all. Maybe the Death Riders story can spawn not one, but two babyface world champions whom AEW fans are super invested in. I'll stand by my belief that Allin was the wrestler originally supposed to end Jon Moxley's reign as AEW World champion, especially if you look back at how the story started. He was a constant thorn in the Death Riders' side and was the one who approached Will Ospreay about taking up the cause with his fellow babyfaces. Ricky Havlik/AEW Nevertheless, Allin broke his foot in March 2024 on the Dynamite just before he was supposed to climb Mount Everest, and had to postpone the climb. Allin, 32, missed about a month of action and then likely took himself off the board when it came to beating Moxley to leave and climb Everest.

AEW Veteran Reportedly Sidelined With Serious Injury

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The fairytale TNT Championship reign of Dustin Rhodes has come to a tragic and premature end. A new report has confirmed that the wrestling veteran is set to undergo double knee surgery and will be out of action until at least 2026. This news comes just days after Rhodes lost the championship to Kyle Fletcher in a brutal street fight on AEW Collision. His reign, which began with an emotional victory at All In: Texas, has been cut short after just one successful defense. A Brutal End To A Fairytale Reign On the July 26th episode of AEW Collision, Dustin Rhodes defended his TNT Title against Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family. During the violent street fight, Fletcher hit Rhodes in the head with a screwdriver before delivering a Brainbuster to capture the championship. After the match, Fletcher continued the assault, targeting Rhodes' knee. The segment ended with the former champion being taken away on a stretcher. Rhodes later confirmed on social media that he would need a "very invasive major surgery" and shut down any speculation that the injury was just a storyline. Courtesy of AEW More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match Fightful Select has revealed more details, confirming that Rhodes is dealing with a knee injury and will undergo double knee surgery. He'll be out of action for an extended period, with no return expected before 2026. After leaving WWE, he experienced a massive career renaissance in AEW. His bloody and emotional match against his brother, Cody Rhodes, at the first Double or Nothing pay-per-view in 2019 is considered an all-time classic. The match proved that even after three decades in the business, "The Natural" could still perform at an elite level. An Emotional Championship Victory His long journey culminated last month at the All In: Texas pay-per-view at Globe Life Field. In an emotional and surprising moment, Dustin Rhodes won a multi-man match to capture the TNT Championship, his first major singles title in AEW. The fairytale victory was seen as a well-deserved reward for a lifetime of dedication to the business. Unfortunately, that dream run was cut tragically short by this legitimate injury. The wrestling world now wishes the legendary "Natural" a full and speedy recovery. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
