Bob Marley celebrated by world's largest children's choir
The world's largest children's choir paid tribute to Bob Marley on what would have been the singer's 80th birthday. Eight thousand primary school pupils gathered at the Manchester Co op Arena to sing a medley of the reggae musician's hits on Thursday.They were joined remotely by children from across the globe for the worldwide singalong."I know my dada would be overjoyed that his words of freedom, love and unity are being sung by so many beautiful young voices 50 years after he wrote them," Marley's daughter Cedella Marley said.
Marley died of cancer at the age of 36 on 11 May 1981.Ben Lewis, boss of children's choir Young Voices, said more than 2000 schools across the world took part in the event, broadcasting 300,000 children to 50 countries."I think it's a testament to Bob Marley's music. That global appeal," he said.Liverpool poet Levi Tafari saw Bob Marley at King's Hall in Belle Vue 1976. He said the performance was a "life-changing experience"."We got to the front, we were probably about ten deep from Bob Marley," he said."We could see all his features, his expressions and everything."The Strictly Come Dancing singer, Tommy Blaze, from Liverpool, said Marley had a "massive influence" on him."I was lucky to grow up in the 60s and 70s in Toxteth, so Bob Marley was around and alive in those days," he said."It was always joyous music with a serious message."Bob Marley's music is here forever, it's like a hymn to me. We all know it."

Despite all of this, Bobby appears keen to maintain a positive public-facing image. Taking to his Instagram Story this evening, the 22-year-old wished Jeff a happy Father's Day with four words that made it clear how he feels about him. 'My dads a rock. [sic]', his caption read. Bobby accompanied the declaration with a photo of not just himself and Jeff, but Freddy too. Taken from behind, it showed the three of them looking out at a vibrant sunset on the beach. With Jeff in the middle, he had his arms around both boys. The post was completed with Adele's emotional ballad Hometown Glory playing over the top. Bobby's unexpected affectionate post is a stark contrast to the details of his so-called strained relationship with his father reported just days ago. According to the Daily Mail, Bobby's new residence is close to Hare Krishna HQ, where he is said to have turned to process the distance that is thought to have grown between him and Jeff. A source close to the family said: 'Bobby's always had a spiritual side, but this is intentional. It's clear he's trying to leave all the fighting and noise behind. 'Freddy's rebellion is loud—drugs, public slanging matches, and legal battles about his nana—while Bobby's is quiet. But actually it's just as defiant. 'He's turning his back on the life his Dad created for them in Essex and following his own path.' It's reported that he shows up to Hare Krishna HQ 'every Saturday without fail', joining in the kitchen sessions, lessons, and prayers. 'This isn't a gimmick,' an insider insisted. This Morning host Jeff is said to be 'heartbroken' at how things have developed, especially with Freddy coming out with such a public tongue-lashing. In his own interview with the Mail, Freddy did not hold back, also claiming that he and Bobby 'don't speak much either'. 'I sent him a message to wish him a happy birthday, but that's it,' he admitted. 'I used to be the middleman between my dad and everyone. But now I can't be bothered. I don't care what happens.' Freddy also said his brother is the 'fiery' one in their household. 'I'm chilled out—I zone out and walk away when we argue.' Elsewhere in the chat, Freddy said he wouldn't be seeing his dad on Father's Day, having also avoided posting anything online to mark the occasion. However, he's not ruling out the possibility of building bridges, having said he wants to 'be clean so [he] can live happily and have healthy relationships with people and be there for all of [his] family' ahead of entering rehab. Mentioning Jeff explicitly, he said in a recent Instagram Story statement that updated fans on his well-being: 'I haven't been able to feel love properly as I have never loved myself and it starts now I want to play football and take up boxing I want to be happy and be in a healthy relationship and have a healthy relationship with my Nana and my father'.
