Early Prime Day deal sees 'life-changing' Ring video doorbell at 'lowest price ever'

Daily Record07-07-2025
The Ring Doorbell and Indoor Camera bundle is now £54.99, down £95.
A major Amazon deal has slashed nearly £100 off the price of a popular home security bundle, bringing it down to its lowest price ever. The Ring Battery Video Doorbell (Satin Nickel) + Ring Indoor Camera (Black) bundle is now just £54.99, down from £149.98.
This means customers can save a whopping 63 per cent on one of the most recognisable names in smart home security. Available in Satin Nickel and Venetian Bronze, the video doorbell offers a 1440x1440 HD video feed with colour night vision and a head-to-toe view for better visibility of people and parcels.

The Ring Doorbell's built-in battery makes installation simple, just charge, click into place and connect via the Ring app. The device also includes Privacy Zones, Quick Replies, and Person and Package Alerts, though some of these features require a Ring Home subscription (sold separately).

You can save video clips for up to 180 days and adjust motion alerts through the app. Also included is the Ring Indoor Camera (2nd Gen), which provides 1080p HD video, two-way talk, a removable privacy cover, and plug-in power for constant surveillance. It can be placed on any flat surface or mounted with the included bracket.
With Alexa compatibility, users can receive alerts through a smart speaker and link it with other Ring devices for broader home coverage.
For those considering alternatives, the is available at Currys for £104.98. Another option is the TP-Link Tapo D210 2K Video Doorbell with chime, on sale for £44.99 at Argos.

But if it's the Ring bundle you're after, then you're not alone, as it boasts a 4.5-star rating from more than 7,400 reviews, and has had some calling it 'life changing.'
One satisfied customer wrote: 'Absolutely made up with my Ring doorbell! I've purposely left it a while before I leave a review... it lasted a full 4 weeks without needing charging...
"Night vision is clear too so I'd definitely recommend... also love how my cat has figured out how to trigger the motion detector so we let him in lol.'

While, another customer, in praise of the doorbell, said: 'I think it's fair to say that these doorbells are indeed a life-changing tech product that everyone should own!
"With Ring being the top of the list in terms of quality and value for money... Overall, we haven't had a single issue and would give it a 10/10 highly recommend. Have since bought others for family members who also love it.'

However, not all feedback has been glowing. One buyer commented: 'This doorbell doesn't have nearly as good quality as the old wired doorbell.
"It's been fairly reliable but there are times you try start a live view and it takes some time... I have to take the whole doorbell off the wall to charge the battery.'
Another added: 'No where near as good picture quality as my original ring, plus you can't swap the battery, you have to take the whole unit off to charge for a few hours... Original ring just died, they're not built to last sadly!'

But another five-star reviewer said: "The product purchased several months ago has proven to be highly satisfactory. Its utility is particularly beneficial for individuals with demanding schedules, such as ourselves, as it facilitates communication with delivery personnel, thereby preventing missed deliveries.
"Although a minor connectivity issue was encountered initially, it was promptly resolved. The customer service provided is commendable; their proactive outreach to address the issue, even though ultimately unnecessary, is appreciated."
Despite some drawbacks, the current deal makes this one of the most affordable ways to try Ring's popular security setup.

Aldi's selling handy Specialbuy DIY tool that's £15 cheaper than Black & Decker version

BARGAIN hunters can bag a must-have DIY tool at Aldi this week for nearly half the price of a leading brand. The Aldi gadget promises to make fiddly home improvement jobs a breeze. 2 The discounter has launched a pivot handle screwdriver as part of this week's Specialbuys, priced at just £12.99, while a similar Black & Decker version costs £24.99 on Amazon. It's powered by a 4V rechargeable lithium-ion battery and has a soft-grip handle that twists 180 degrees, making it easier to get into awkward corners that standard screwdrivers can't reach. It also comes with a forward and reverse function, six torque settings, LED working light, USB-C charging, and a built-in safety cut-off to stop overheating. With a three-hour charge time and automatic spindle lock, it's designed to be both practical and durable. The Black & Decker cordless rapid screwdriver, while boasting a slightly higher torque, comes with a smaller 3.6V battery and retails for almost double the price. Both models offer similar speeds and features, meaning Aldi's cut-price tool is a clear winner for shoppers wanting value without compromising too much on performance. This isn't the first time Aldi has gone head-to-head with big-name brands in its Specialbuys range. garden furniture to hot tubs and branded tool dupes. But there's a catch. Once Specialbuys sell out, they're rarely restocked and with prices undercutting rivals by as much as 50%, popular items can disappear fast. Shoppers have even discovered 'secret codes' on Aldi's digital price labels to tell when items are about to vanish for good. Have you seen this secret code in Aldi? Savvy bargain hunter Jordon Cox, known as the Coupon Kid, recently revealed that a capital 'D' in the corner of a price tag means a product is being discontinued. Once gone, it won't return, so fans need to grab it while they can. Upcoming Specialbuys are advertised in Aldi's in-store booklets and on its website, with Thursdays and Sundays being the key days for new stock. The supermarket says mornings between 8am and 10am are the quietest time to shop, while late afternoons and evenings are also good for dodging queues. Arriving early on those days gives bargain hunters the best chance of nabbing the most sought-after deals. Aldi opening stores Unlike many retailers, Aldi is planning to open more sites. The brand has earmarked 11 areas for new stores. Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi, said: "We're now opening an average of one new store a week for the rest of 2025, showing just how ambitious our plans are to build a store network that will help us reach millions of new customers." This is the full list of 11 new stores confirmed as opening: Airfields, Welsh Road, Deeside Rockingham Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire Fulham Broadway, London Pacific Drive, Eastbourne, East Sussex Mafon Road, Nelson, Treharris Ashford, Waterbrook, Kent Commercial Street, Shoreditch, London Philadelphia Lane, Houghton le Spring, Tyne and Wear Mill Road, Meadowfield, Durham Pendle Drive, Litherland, Liverpool Ringwood Road, Brimington, Chesterfield

Sodastream with lots of top flavours is 'favourite kitchen gadget' as it drops to £56

'We mostly use it for sparkling water, but it's saved us a fortune on fizzy drinks in general.' Everyone has a go-to fizzy drink that they enjoy from time to time. But many of us try to limit how often we buy them, as the cost can quickly pile up - and so can bottle after bottle of plastic around your home. Thankfully, there is a kitchen gadget on the market that will let households enjoy some tasty fizzy drinks while also saving themselves some extra money in the long run. The Sodastream is normally associated with turning still water into sparkling for those who prefer it. However, some people may not know that this device also comes with flavourings that will create a few popular fizzy drinks. For those who are intrigued, now is the best time to buy a Sodastream as Amazon has slashed the price of the Terra Black edition from £109.99 down to £55.99 in a limited time deal. Ideal for creating soft drinks while also reducing your carbon footprint, the Sodastream is easy to use and will provide tasty drinks in no time. Simply place the water bottle into the device and press the button as many times as you would like to get the best level of fizz. Terra Black Sodastream £109.99 £55.99 Amazon Buy Now Delivered with a gas cylinder that is easy to connect to the device, this is said to provide up to 60 litres of sparkling refreshments before it needs to be replaced. The Sodastream also comes with the added bonus of not needing to be plugged in, so it can be easily transported around your kitchen without any fuss. In terms of flavours, Amazon has slashed the price of six 440ml bottles of orange mix down from £29.94 to £25 and a pack of their own ginger ale down to £21.31. Shoppers can also get a multipack which includes Pepsi Max, Pepsi Max Cherry, Pepsi Max Lime and a 7UP Free for £19 (RRP £23.96). All of these bottles will provide up to 9L of juice. Alternatively, shoppers can buy the BIBO Sparkling Water Maker from Amazon for £54.99. Equipped with four fizz levels, shoppers will be able to customise their drink to perfection. The water bottle included with the device is also BPA-free and reusable. Over on Debenhams, shoppers can now buy the Geepas 900ML Sparkling Water Maker Soda Machine for the reduced price of £44.99 (RRP £66.99). This device claims to make perfect bubbles in just two to three seconds. However, it does not come with a CO2 cylinder. Back to the Sodastream, it currently had a 4.7 star rating on Amazon from over 2,300 customers, with over 1,000 people snapping up the device in the last month. One delighted shopper wrote: "Wasn't sure if we'd actually use this much, but now we're totally hooked. Super easy to set up — literally just click the gas canister in and you're good to go. The Terra version doesn't need to be plugged in, so it just lives on our kitchen counter without taking up too much space or needing a power point. "The fizz is decent too — you can control how fizzy you want it which is a nice touch. I usually go for two presses and it's perfect. We mostly use it for sparkling water, but it's saved us a fortune on fizzy drinks in general. Also feels a bit better than constantly buying plastic bottles." However, one shopper did complain about the delivery, writing: "It was easy to use as I took a look on YouTube for instructions. The Soda Stream instructions I had delivered was in 100% German. The box all in German. The product warnings on the bottle was in German. Got a bulk deal in German Soda Streams?" While another person wanted more variety in the flavours: "Only gripe is the lack of choice in terms of flavoured syrups. We don't really like Pepsi brand drinks and the own brand Sodastream tonic, ginger ale etc. are not great either. Would prefer Coke zero and a branded tonic e.g. Fevertree. Hope they expand the range at some point." Homewares deal of the week Switch up your bedroom's aesthetic and keep those summer vibes with one bedding set from Dunelm that is now 30 percent less. The Darla Floral Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set has been crafted from a soft cotton to keep cool amidst the current hot spell, with the pink colourway included in the offer. For shoppers looking for a single sized set, the pink Darla bedding is now £14 instead of £20. For a double the set retails for £16.80 (£24), meanwhile the king size is down to £21 (£30). The super king has also dropped from £34 to £23.80. The duvet comes with matching pillowcases to create a seamless design. For added versatility, this bedding set is also reversible so shoppers can instead choose to flip the set over and enjoy a calm design that resembles soft clouds. Dunelm shoppers have loved the Darla bedding set so much they can't stop gushing over it, as one said: "Really pretty bedding. Feels great in the bed. Washes well, easy to iron, and excellent quality." While another five-star reviewer added: "Lovely sage green fresh colour brightens the bedroom up for the summer. Washes good low spin as can crease but iron well." Get the popular Darla Floral Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set for 30 per cent less at Dunelm. Despite this, another five-star reviewer wrote: "Wish we had bought one of these earlier rather than buying the plastic bottles from the supermarket. It is very easy to use and it looks ok on the kitchen counter. "The gas cylinders are easy to fit and we are able to buy a replacement canister at Rymans in the town centre which works out cheaper. The fizz in the bottles lasts a few days before going flat. Excellent product." With a fifth shopper adding: "One of our favourite kitchen gadget purchases. Sleek and minimalist design. So easy to use. We have even taken it with us to cocktail parties as it's so easy to transport. Low maintenance and canisters last a while! This came with one bottle which is all we needed as a couple." Amazon has slashed 49 per cent off the Terra Black Sodastream. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
