M&S strawberry sandwich anger 'it's only half a sandwich'

Users have taken to social media to complain that while it looks like a regular sandwich, the M&S limited edition treat is only half the size of other sandwiches the shop sells.
On Twitter, one poster said: "Thought I'd probably try that strawberries and creme thing from M&S and then saw it's £2.80 for *half* a sandwich."

On Mumsnet, one poster said: "It's only half a sandwich and it's brioche but it's okay. Wouldn't buy again for £2.80."
On Facebook, parenting blogger Man Behaving Dadly posted as part of his review: "You get one half of a sandwich for £2.80."
This comes as the luxury food retailer may be hit with VAT charges, as HMRC do not class the treat as a sandwich.
M&S said its latest creation was inspired by Japanese 'sweet sandos', or fruit sandwiches.
M&S said: 'Inspired by the Japanese sweet sandos, recently spotted popping up in London's trendiest Japanese patisseries, our product developers have long dreamed of creating a dessert sandwich.
'With our exclusive Red Diamond Strawberries at their juiciest best, the time has finally come to create the ultimate strawberries and creme experience.
More M&S news:
'From alfresco lunches, afternoon tea at home, summer picnics, courtside snack breaks or a sweet afternoon pick me up, the Red Diamond Strawberries & Creme Sandwich is your go-to summer indulgence, wherever, whenever.
M&S Food first sold freshly made sandwiches in the 1920s, and expanded sales with pre-packed sandwiches in the 1980s.
The retailer's food halls have sold four billion sandwiches to date.

How to save money at B&M Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app. The scanner lets you see if an item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label. Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift. The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store. According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too. Here's how you can join the B&M bargain hunt: Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play. Once you've installed it on your device, click on the option labelled "more" on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page. You'll then find an option that says "barcode scanner". Click on this and you'll open a camera screen. Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check. If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price. You don't need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.
