An Antiques Roadshow guest barely reacted when he was told of the true value of his 175-year-old walking sticks.
Expert Ronnie Archer-Morgan was on hand to meet a guest who presented him with two walking staffs which doubled up as 'defenders', according to the specialist.
He continued: 'These are absolutely bonkers and that's what they're made for, bonking people on the head with.
'I mean the faces are just out there, aren't they? Have you had them long?'
'Personally, just a matter of months really but they've been in the family 90, probably 100 years,' the guest replied.

Archer-Morgan elaborated: 'Well they are his and hers actually, this is a she and that's a he.
'Glass eyes, both of them, they are incredible folk art. Folk art's a funny area.
'You can never be exactly sure with certain things like these and these are definitely British.
'I do think they're probably Welsh, they're a fruit wood, could be pear probably and they're about 1850. They could actually be a bit earlier.'
The expert then pointed to one of the sticks which had been damaged, remarking: 'And this one has lost a lump there. I reckon that missing piece is embedded in someone's skull right now.'
The owner then quipped: 'Not guilty!', much to the audience's amusement.

'But I love this kind of folk art, it's caricature-ish, it's just, as I said, bonkers,' Archer-Morgan said.
'They're so funny, so humorous and they're so well executed."
But when the expert questioned the guest if he actually liked the pieces, he stated: 'To a certain extent.'
He then confessed: 'When my grandson stays he won't have them in the room. He's frightened to death of them!'
'Really? Well I suppose if you're not used to the idea they're quite scary,' the expert sympathised.
It was then time for the appraisal itself: 'But scary or not, the price might scare you, they're about £400 each, so that's £800 for the pair.'
Barely reacting to the value itself, the guest simply laughed: 'Well that's better than being under the bed, isn't it?'
Antiques Roadshow is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Dannii Minogue back for more I Kissed a Girl after clarifying she is straight
Last year the Aussie host quipped that she "identified as queer" but afterwards had to explain she was still dating her long-term boyfriend Dannii Minogue caused a storm last year after quipping that she 'identifies as queer in a weird way' at the launch of I Kissed a Girl - and hinting that she was attracted to the 'hot' girls who took part. Afterwards she had to clarify on social media that she was 'not lesbian or queer' but remained straight, and was still in her long-term 'heater' relationship with musician Andrew Newman. Now the UK's first dating series for girls who like girls is returning for a second run on BBC3, with Dannii as host once again. She said: 'I Kissed a Girl was full of heart and groundbreaking for female representation on TV. The fans loved the fun, the passion and the drama. I can't wait for the return of the girls - let's see what the heat of the Italian sun does for kisses and connections. It is sure to get sparks flying. I am ready to be cupid once again.' Last year Dannii, 53, fought back tears of pride as she launched the new gay dating show. She got choked up as she told the contestants: 'You girls are so brave and amazing and have brought so much to it. I could never do what you have done. I will always be in awe of what has happened and what we've created. I feel so proud. You're stepping forward, and you're the first crew of girls representing in this space, and it is big.' The long-term LGBTQ ally was commended for getting to grips with the terms used to describe different types of gay women, such as 'femme' and 'masc', which led her to declare: 'I identify as queer in a weird way.' In the first epiaode one of the girls described Dannii as being 'just my type' and others also indicated they were attracted to her. Asked at the launch if the feelings were reciprocated, the Aussie star laughed: 'You girls are hot. You know it. I love it. I'm here for it. Is that an answer?' In the show, before the girls arrive at the villa, they are paired up based on what they're looking for in a partner. After meeting their match for the first time with a kiss, they're encouraged to give their new relationship a go, before potentially looking around at the rest of the group. BBC3 controller Fiona Campbell said: 'The girls brought their A game for the first series of I Kissed A Girl, creating a social buzz and stand out moments so to bring it back for another series means audiences can expect even more iconic, memorable moments and one hot summer.' Casting is now open for the 10-part series via the BBC 's 'take part' website. Last year the former X Factor judge said she hoped the series was watched by a broad audience, including those who are straight. 'There's a curiosity, right? Whether you are a lesbian or not. Who's going to be in the casting? Who's going to be paired with who? What are they like? Will they represent me? Do I see myself? A million questions and guess what? The straights have the same million questions. 'The best thing that can happen to this show is that everyone watches it, and everyone has questions. Everyone learns something. Everyone moves forward.' Dannii admitted that being the glamorous host of the show wasn't too challenging. 'I don't get to do a lot," she laughed. "I think I just drop bombs - and then swan off and try not to trip over my dress.'

Say can you see an American in the Love Island villa? Well, for the first time in show history, someone from across the pond is set to enter the iconic villa as a bombshell. We stayed in King's Cross and it was gorgeous. It's so diverse. Literally people from everywhere.' American bombshell Toni entering Love Island villa. | ITV Addressing why she had signed up for the British version of the Love Island, Toni said: 'I've lived in three different states and I'm still single. It's time to try something new! 'I have some British friends and they're pretty charming. I think all Americans love a good accent. British men are just more polite, with better manners.' She told ITV that she is looking for: 'Someone that can make me laugh - I'm super outgoing. And someone that's quite active. Maybe one day we could start our own family together.' If we're going on a date and you're not dressed for the occasion… then that's a bit of an ick!' Love Island bombshell to get incredible power straight away After the newly coupled up Islanders spend a bit of time getting to know one another, later in the evening, Maya makes a shock return to the Villa with some huge news. Gathering everyone at the firepit, she reveals the day isn't over yet and someone new is already on their way. Suddenly, the series' first bombshell Toni makes a dramatic entrance into the Villa. The Islanders are quick to realise she's come all the way from the US as Toni teasingly says: 'Good evening UK! Surprise!' The Islanders can't believe there's an American bombshell and there's clearly some excitement amongst the boys… and some concerns for the girls. Maya then drops some more big news: not only has Toni just arrived all the way from the States, but she is also going to immediately steal one of the boys. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Hearing the power is in her hands, Toni coyly replies: 'Interesting…' And that's not all, Maya has more news for one Islander. The clock is ticking and their time in the Villa could be over quicker than you can say señorita…
