Perni vows to fight ‘red book regime' in court
Guntur: Former Minister Perni Venkataramaiah launched a blistering attack on the TDP-led coalition government, which, he said, is running a red-book regime that targets YSRCP leaders and activists with fabricated cases under the direction of Nara Lokesh. It orchestrated the political vendetta by filing baseless cases against active YSRCP leaders, he alleged. Speaking to the media at Tadepalli on Monday, he vowed to hold accountable those responsible for such injustices in court, asserting, 'We have all the evidence to expose their malicious tactics.' He said a glaring example of this misconduct is the case involving the attack on Krishna district ZP Chairperson Uppala Harika, a BC women leader on Saturday in Gudivada. A false case was filed against her husband, Uppala Ramu, in a blatant attempt to shift blame. He said, TDP orchestrated an assaultand then pinned false charges on YSRCP leaders.

Govt making arrangements to repatriate 11 AP youth trapped in southeast Asia cybercrime rackets
Vijayawada: The state govt has intensified efforts to bring back 11 more persons from the state trapped in cybercrime syndicates operating out of Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos. The victims, all hailing from various districts in Andhra Pradesh, are part of a growing number of youth from India, especially from Telugu-speaking regions, who fell prey to sophisticated human trafficking networks. The gangs exploit the victims by confiscating passports, subjecting them to long working hours, physical threats, and forcing them to operate cyber scams targeting individuals across Asia. Hemalatha Rani, CEO of Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), said eight victims were identified in Myanmar, two in Cambodia, and one in Laos. Efforts are underway for their repatriation, she said. IT and HRD minister Nara Lokesh, who has been closely monitoring the issue, assured the safe repatriation of the victims. "We (govt) have established contact with them and are making all necessary arrangements to ensure their safe return to India. The govt has taken action and established a dedicated helpline to prevent such incidents," he posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
