The ministry launched the environmental meteorological monitoring system using an autogyro helicopter in May of last year. The first flight took off from Umm Shakhut Airport in the presence of Minister of Environment and Climate Change His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie.
The tour included monitoring several wild areas and beaches. The aircraft is one of the modern technologies the ministry relies on to monitor marine coasts, provide accurate environmental data, support scientific research, monitor biodiversity, identify environmental changes in land areas, and detect violations and quickly address them. This contributes to enhancing environmental sustainability within the framework of the fourth pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.
