Meghan Markle Celebrated Her Birthday in a White Mini You Might Recognize
Meghan Markle turned 44 on Aug. 4 and revealed how she celebrated in an Instagram tribute
The Duchess of Sussex's outfit for the outing seemed to be a repeat style
Meghan occasionally repeats pieces for special occasions and wore her hair in a new way for the dress' second spinMeghan Markle blew out her birthday candles in a special dress that was already in her closet.
On Aug. 5, the Duchess of Sussex posted a photo to her personal Instagram page from her private birthday dinner in Beverly Hills, where a close look showed that her outfit was one she had sported previously.
Meghan's white number with appliqué flowers and gems around the collar appeared to be the same Maison Valentino mini dress with short sleeves that she wore at Global Citizen Live in September 2021.
Meghan and Prince Harry appeared at the event in New York City almost four years ago, where they spoke about the global need for COVID-19 vaccine equity amid the pandemic.

The Duchess of Sussex wore her hair in a low ponytail with face-framing layers then, but switched up her style for the frock's second spin. Meghan wore her hair down and straight on her birthday, amping up the glam with smoky eye makeup.
The As ever founder turned 44 on Aug. 4 and thanked Prince Harry in her social media post for making her birthday great.
"Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special," Meghan wrote. "To those of you I don't know, but who send love every day - thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it ❤️."
"And just to get a little foodie on you….this dinner last night at @funke_la with the culinary mastery of @evanfunke and his team is in the top five meals of my life. Extraordinary," she said, shouting out the Beverly Hills restaurant and chef Evan Funke. "Thank you for a standout dining experience."
The Duchess of Sussex's birthday dress was hardly the first time she has recycled a style. Meghan occasionally repeats pieces for special occasions or reimagines them entirely.
In October 2024, she made a surprise appearance at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala, making a bold fashion statement in a red Carolina Herrera gown.
The strappy dress with plunging neckline was the same one that she wore for the Salute to Freedom gala in New York City in November 2021, which she attended with Prince Harry. Meghan apparently had the ensemble altered for the second spin, with the voluminous train removed to create a more streamlined vibe.

Another repeat wear from the Duchess of Sussex's rotation is a yellow flowing maxi dress she first wore for Prince Archie's first birthday in 2020, then again her 2021 pregnancy announcement when she was expecting Princess Lilibet and later, her 2024 tour of Nigeria with Harry, among other repeat outfits over the years.

AEW Superstar Undergoes Surgery
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. AEW star Buddy Matthews is set to be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future. The House of Black member confirmed on Thursday that he is undergoing ankle surgery. In a post on his Instagram story, Matthews shared a photo of himself at a hospital. He was alongside his real-life partner, former WWE Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley, just before he went in for the procedure. Buddy Matthews is getting surgery to repair his ankle. Speedy recovery. — Andrew Ravens l (@Andrew_Ravens) August 7, 2025 A Sidelined House Of Black Member Matthews has been largely absent from AEW programming in recent weeks. This surgery now provides a legitimate reason for his time away from the ring as he begins his recovery. The specific nature of the ankle injury and a potential timetable for his return have not yet been disclosed. His absence further complicates the status of the House of Black faction, as fellow member Brody King has recently been competing in the AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament with a new partner, Bandido. From "Best Kept Secret" to House Of Black Buddy Matthews has had a decorated career in both WWE and AEW. WWE fans will remember him from his time in NXT, where he was a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion. He later had a career-defining run on the 205 Live brand, where he was repackaged as "The Best Kept Secret" and had a dominant, critically acclaimed reign as the WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Courtesy of AEW More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match After his WWE release, he made his debut for AEW in 2022. He was revealed as the third member of the dark and mysterious faction, the House of Black, alongside Malakai Black and Brody King. An Uncertain Future The House of Black quickly became one of the most popular and dominant groups in AEW. Their biggest success came when they captured the AEW World Trios Championship and held the titles for a significant portion of 2023. This injury is an unfortunate setback for the talented Australian star. The wrestling world now wishes him a full and speedy recovery and awaits the eventual, and likely ominous, return of the full House of Black.
