No compromise on development: Aruna

Mahabubnagar: Mahbubnagar MP DK Aruna toured CC Kunta village in Devarakadra constituency, where she laid the foundation stone for several development works on Saturday.
With Rs 18 lakh from her MP funds, two community halls will be constructed, for which she performed the groundbreaking ceremony along with local BJP leaders. Prior to the programme, she offered special prayers at the Valmiki Temple and the Ganga Bhavani Temple.
Speaking on the occasion, Aruna said, 'There will be no compromise on development. I am allocating Rs 65 lakh per constituency from my MP quota. Already, high-mast LED lights worth Rs 2.05 lakh have been installed in CC Kunta.'
She appealed to the people to give BJP a chance in the upcoming local body elections.
'You have seen ten years of BRS rule, and now you are experiencing the deceptive Congress rule. If you elect BJP this time, I will change the face of CC Kunta and take full responsibility for its development.'
Aruna highlighted the central government's schemes, pointing out that roads, Anganwadi centers, midday meals, streetlights, and crematoriums in villages are all funded by the Centre. She noted that ration rice, Mudra and Vishwakarma loans, PM Awas Yojana houses, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, fertilizer subsidies, and drones for farmers are all benefits being extended by the Modi government.
On the issue of Boya Valmikis' inclusion in the ST list, Aruna said that she had already raised the demand in Parliament and discussed it with Union Ministers. Rajya Sabha MP Laxman also raised the issue.
'I will make every effort to ensure your long-cherished dream of being included in the ST list becomes a reality,' she assured.

‘Quota anomalies' in 69K teachers' recruitment in UP: Candidates protest outside minister's place

Alleging reservation scam in 19,000 posts in 69,000 assistant teacher recruitment, a large number of candidates from reserved categories staged a protest outside basic education minister Sandeep Singh's residence at Mall Avenue here on Monday. Policemen taking away one of the protestors in Lucknow on August 18. (HT photo) From there, police sent them to Eco Garden in vehicles. The education directorate at Nishatganj was turned into a fortress in the wake of the protest. 'We have not yet got justice in this recruitment,' the protesters claimed. They said if the government does not take the initiative for hearing in the Supreme Court and keeps getting dates after dates from the apex court, they will stage sit-in protests every day in Lucknow and also gherao the residences of BJP leaders. Talks were held with additional chief secretary, basic education, Deepak Kumar, on the issue but nothing came out of it, said one of the protesters Dhananjay Gupta. On the call of Pichda Dalit Samyukta Morcha's state president Sushil Kashyap and state patron Bhaskar Singh, the 'aggrieved' candidates claimed to have sent hundreds of letters to the Chief Justice of India in which it was, as per the protestors, clearly stated that for the last 12 months the plaint of the candidates was not being heard in the Supreme Court and dates were being given one after the other due to which they were very upset. The protesters said in such a situation, the apex court should start hearing their case so that they can get justice. Sushil Kashyap and Bhaskar Singh alleged that in the said recruitment, OBC category has been given only 3.86% reservation instead of 27%, SC category has been given only 16.2% reservation instead of 21% and thus in this recruitment, Basic Education Rules 1981 and Reservation Rules 1994 have been violated. They also alleged that the original selection of this recruitment was not being made public for the last 5 years despite the order of a division bench of the Allahabad high court issued on August 13. 2024, 'which shows that there has been a huge reservation scam in the said recruitment'. Basic education department officials said the matter was pending in the court and they will abide by the order of the Supreme Court.

Modi's GST reforms by Diwali announcement is like leaking the examination paper

Modi's announcement of GST changes by Diwali is like leaking the examination paper. With GST rates expected to lower in certain categories, people will just stop buying cars, TVs, and wait it out for price cuts. Inventories will pile up or production will stall. Get done with GST reforms now. NDA making CP Radhakrishnan its VP nominee gives bragging rights to AIADMK. It's smart politics NDA making CP Radhakrishnan its VP nominee is smart politics. It gives bragging rights to AIADMK-BJP in Tamil Nadu and puts DMK-led alliance in a bind. BJP nominating an RSS swayamsevak to second-highest Constitutional post reinvigorates their umbilical cord. A non-confrontationist with friends across parties, CPR makes an ideal candidate.

C P Radhakrishnan to file nominations as NDA's Vice Presidential candidate on August 20

Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan will file the nomination as the Vice Presidential candidate of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance on Wednesday, August 20, said Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju. In addition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many of his cabinet colleagues, the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of several states ruled by the BJP and its allies are expected to participate in the exercise. 'Nomination of C.P. Radhakrishnan as NDA's Vice Presidential candidate will be filed on August 20, at 11 am,' Rijiju told the reporters. 'Under the leadership of PM Modi, all NDA leaders will participate in the nomination filing process,' he added. Meanwhile, on Monday, Radhakrishnan arrived in the national capital and met NDA leaders, including PM Modi. His visit comes a day after he was named the NDA's vice-presidential candidate. A host of Union ministers, including the BJP's Bhupender Yadav, Pralhad Joshi and Kiren Rijiju and the TDP's K Ram Mohan Naidu, received Radhakrishnan here, ahead of a host of meetings the NDA has planned in connection with his campaign. Later in the evening, the vice-presidential candidate attended a meeting of NDA leaders where he was felicitated. After the former Tamil Nadu BJP president and two-term ex-Lok Sabha MP met him, Modi said on X, 'Met Thiru CP Radhakrishnan Ji. Conveyed my best wishes on his being the NDA's vice-presidential nominee.' 'His long years of public service and experience across domains will greatly enrich our nation. May he continue to serve the nation with the same dedication and resolve he has always demonstrated,' the prime minister said. The NDA's numerical superiority has made Radhakrishnan's victory a certainty. But the ruling alliance's managers are in overdrive to consolidate maximum support in his favour to send out a political statement amid indications by the INDIA bloc parties that it will force a contest by naming its own candidate. The NDA received a boost after former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress Party, one of the few parties not aligned to either of the two rival blocs, extended its support to Radhakrishnan's candidature. The regional party has 11 MPs in Parliament, whose members make up the electoral college for the VP election. Union minister Rajnath Singh, who is overseeing the campaign and has reached out to different parties, had spoken to Reddy.
