Alex Rodriguez Predicts Winner of 2025 World Series Without Hesitation originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
With the MLB All-Star Game wrapping up Wednesday night at Truist Park in Atlanta, it didn't take long for the Fox Sports crew—featuring baseball legends Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, and Alex Rodriguez—to offer their 2025 World Series predictions.

The second half of the season resumes Friday, and while both leagues feature clear front-runners—the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League and the Detroit Tigers in the American League—the race remains wide open for which teams will make the biggest impact come October and November.
Jeter kicked things off by picking his former team, the New York Yankees, to defeat the Chicago Cubs. Ortiz followed by backing his longtime club, the Boston Red Sox.
Naturally, Rodriguez kept things interesting by siding with the Yankees as well, predicting they would beat the defending champion Dodgers to capture their 28th title in franchise history.
'Whatever GM, there's going to be a competition of the best front office that makes the boldest moves at the trade deadline,' Rodriguez said. 'And I'm going with the most resources—Yankees and Dodgers. All eyes will be on Brian Cashman to finally get over the L.A. Dodgers in October.'

Right now, the hottest team in baseball is the Boston Red Sox, riding a 10-game win streak. Despite their surge, they still sit third in the AL East, trailing the New York Yankees in second and the Toronto Blue Jays, who are narrowly holding on to first place.
At the All-Star break, the current American League playoff picture features the Tigers, Astros, and Blue Jays as division leaders. The wild card spots are held by the Yankees, Red Sox, and Mariners.
In the National League, the Dodgers, Cubs, and Phillies lead their respective divisions, with the Brewers, Mets, and Padres currently occupying the wild card positions.

Jaguars hold one of the NFL's best home field advantages, despite NFL decline

Home field advantage has been a wide held belief in sports for decades and often did have quite a bit of merit to it. How advantageous it is varies from sport to sport, but, in general, it was far more desirable than going on the road or even across the country or world. In the NFL, Vegas usually provides a three point value for home field advantage, though that value placed on home field advantage might now be overstated. For a long while, home teams had won between 56-58% of games. In that NFL, that extra 6-8% means everything. Since 2020, however, that number now sits at just 53%. It's seen a steady decline since the 1990s. >>> STREAM ACTION SPORTS JAX 24/7 LIVE << >> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< Last season, NFELO ranked the Jaguars to have the sixth highest home field advantage in the NFL. Historically, the Jaguars have been much better at home than on the road, including their incredible 28-4 home record between 1996-1999. In the postseason, these figures go out the window as home teams win far more of their home games than on the road, though postseason seeding plays a major role that has to be factored in. Generally speaking the better team will have a higher seeding and therefore a better chance to win. Over the last five seasons, home teams are 41-19 (0.683) in the playoffs, infinitely better than the regular season mark. Earning a higher seed still matters… a lot. In the regular season, however, home field advantage doesn't mean what it used to. Just don't tell the Jaguars that. Devils Superstar Jack Hughes Gets Big Praise

New Jersey Devils superstar Jack Hughes had another excellent season in 2024-25. In 62 games with the Metropolitan Division club on the year, he posted 27 goals, 43 assists, and 70 points. It was the fourth season in a row where he averaged over a point per game. Now, due to his incredible play over the years, Hughes has received some major praise. In a recent article for Adam Kimelman ranked the 10 best players in the NHL who are under 25. For it, Hughes ranked second on the list, with Ottawa Senators star Tim Stutzle being the only player ahead of him. Given how much success Hughes has had early on in his career, it is understandable that he has been ranked so highly by Kimelman. The 2019 first-overall pick has lived up to the hype early on in his career, and he should only get better as he continues to inch closer to his prime years. In 368 career NHL games over six seasons, Hughes has recorded 141 goals, 210 assists, and 315 points. His best season so far was in 2022-23, as he set career highs with 43 goals, 56 assists, and 99 points in 78 games. Exciting Devils Goalie Prospect Named Among NHL's Best The New Jersey Devils are currently golden at the goaltender position, as they have veteran Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen on their NHL roster. This veteran duo worked exceptionally well together this past season, and there is no reason to believe that this can't be the case again in 2025-26. Photo Credit: © Ed Mulholland-Imagn Images
