SUBANG: A 47-year-old man suffered injuries after he was allegedly attacked by his girlfriend's former husband and two accomplices in Puchong.
Subang Jaya deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Fairus Jaafar said the incident occurred at around 2.15am yesterday at an apartment in Taman Puchong Intan.
'We received a call from a woman claiming that her boyfriend was attacked at her residence,' he said in a statement.
'Initial investigations showed that the victim and the woman are living together.
'The woman's ex-husband and two other men, in their 30s and 40s, came to the house and assaulted the victim using a knife and an iron rod.'
The victim, who suffered injuries to his head and body, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition.
'We believe the motive of the attack was jealousy and unresolved domestic issues between the woman and her ex-spouse,' Supt Mohd Fairus added.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, a fine or whipping upon conviction.
'We are in the midst of tracking the suspects. We urge those with information on the case to contact Subang Jaya police at 03-7862 7222 or Insp G. Dinesh at 011-3309 4457,' he added.
