Rumor: Samsung has started mass production of next-gen foldables, except for the tri-fold model
Samsung has been producing certain components for the upcoming Galaxy Z series since mid-February, claims leakster Max Jambor, and now mass production of the actual phones is starting.
Max reports that the B7 display will measure 161.57 x 69.96mm. 'B7' is an internal name for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, just like the B6 was the Z Flip6. That works out to a 176mm diagonal, slightly larger than the 170.3mm diagonal of the Z Flip6 (mind you this doesn't account for the rounded corners). Indeed, the Z Flip7 is reported to have a 6.85' inner display, up from 6.7' on its predecessor, plus a roomier 4' cover display (which goes edge to edge, unlike the 3.4' display of the Z Flip6).
Samsung tri-fold display concepts: Flex G • Flex S
So far, so good, but Max also has some bad news – Samsung's triple foldable still hasn't gone into mass production. Samsung has been making components for it since the end of March, but it hasn't started building actual phones yet. The tri-fold device is internally known as Q7M, but it is expected to adopt the Galaxy G Fold name when it reaches retail.
This isn't necessarily an indication that something is wrong, mind you. We've been hearing that the Samsung tri-fold will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, but will only be available in a couple of countries and only a limited number of units will be built, 200,000, if rumors are to be believed. In other words, there's no need to get an early start on production. For context, even the Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to move 900,000 units and the Galaxy Z Fold7 will aim for 3 million.

Samsung starts teasing a beefed up Galaxy Z Ultra foldable model
Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its new foldable flagships, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Fold 7. Both smartphones are expected to be introduced in the coming weeks, so it makes sense for the South Korean giant to start hyping its new lineup of foldables. The first teaser released by Samsung is a bit confusing because it refers to 'an Ultra experience,' which the company believes its fans have been asking for. The short post on its official website then talks about AI and its optimization for the foldable format, something that apparently, 'users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra.' Up until now, all the leaks about Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones talked only about three models that the company will unveil this summer: Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 7 , and Galaxy Z Fold 7 . Nowhere is the 'Ultra' model mentioned in any of the leaks from reputable sources. It doesn't help that Samsung's post is quite confusing, not referring to the 'Ultra' as a different foldable that it plans to reveal along with the other refer. Or maybe there's no 'vanilla' Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung plans to name it 'Ultra' for some reason. Alleged Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 | Image credit: Setsuna Digital via Weibo What actually gives it away is the email we received from Samsung that mentions a new 'ultra form factor.' Below is an excerpt from the email that feels a lot less confusing than the actual teaser: – Samsung, June 2025 Also, the animated image in the teaser clearly looks like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 , not the Flip 7 , so it's probably safe to say that there will be a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra (or whatever Samsung decides to name it), and not a Flip 7 Ultra. If Samsung does indeed prepare to launch an additional foldable that's even better than the 'vanilla' Galaxy Z Fold 7 , then it's probably the best guarded secret in the company's recent history. Meanwhile, a new leak 'confirmed' the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be available in three colors and at least two storage choices. Samsung is rumored to unveil its new Galaxy Z foldables and Galaxy Watch smartwatches sometime in July, but a date has yet to be announced.

Samsung officially confirms Galaxy Fold7 Ultra arrival in first teaser
Samsung has been rumored to bring an Ultra variant to its Fold series for quite some time and we now have the first official teaser for the Fold7 Ultra. The device will launch later this year alongside the vanilla Z Fold7 and the clamshell Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE. Samsung's new foldables are rumored to launch at an in-person event in New York in early July. The Z Fold7 Ultra teaser showcases a slim profile. How slim? We don't know yet, but it will certainly be thinner than the outgoing Z Fold6, which measures 5.6 mm in its unfolded state and the Z Fold Special Edition, which is 4.9mm. Equally exciting, Samsung promises the Ultra will have best-in-class camera, which is no small claim, considering the vivo X Fold3 Pro's excellent shooter. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra teaser The Z Fold Ultra is not exactly unexpected. It was supposed to happen last year with the Z Fold6 generation until it didn't. Samsung then announced the Z Fold Special Edition in South Korea and China as the W25 in late October with larger 8-inch main and 6.5-inch cover screens, a 200MP main cam and 16GB RAM, all in a thinner (4.9mm when unfolded) and lighter package.
