'We would like to thank Mr Pioli and his staff for their dedicated work during the past season," the club added.
The reason for the decision wasn't disclosed as the club opted to part way with the Italian after just nine months of working together. Cristiano Ronaldo set to sign new deal with Al Nassr: Reports
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to extend his stay at Al Nassr and sign a new deal with the Saudi Pro League club, reports suggested on Wednesday. Despite rumours of him planning to move clubs to participate in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup 2025 floating around, Ronaldo confirmed earlier this month that he will not be part of the tournament. He has recorded 93 goals and 19 assists in 105 appearances across all competitions for the Saudi club, but is yet to win a league title. ECB and BCCI join hands to scuttle ambitious Saudi T20: Report
TIL Creatives AI generated image. The ambitious Saudi T20 league, which is believed to be a USD 400 million project, won't be backed by the BCCI or the England and Wales Cricket Board as they try to protect their respective flagship tourneys from getting diluted, British newspaper The Guardian has reported. "During discussions at the World Test Championship final at Lord's this month, the ECB and BCCI agreed to unite in opposing the new league. The boards agreed they would not issue "no objection certificates" to their players to sign up for the new competition, as well as lobbying the International Cricket Council (ICC) to withhold their endorsement," the newspaper wrote. Apparently Cricket Australia (CA) was keen on partnering with Saudi investors in the league. "Under plans that emerged in Australia this year, Saudi's SRJ Sports Investments has pledged to inject USD 400m to set up the new league, which would have eight teams playing four tournaments in different locations each year in a set-up that has been compared to tennis's Grand Slams," Guardian said. For CA, the main aim is to earn profit from the cash inflow by a private investor as the Big Bash League (BBL) franchises are owned by the governing body and the states. However, IPL is a USD 12 billion product and the ECB is all set to get richer by GBP 520m (USD 700 million) from the sale of 49% of the eight 'Hundred franchises'. "Cricket South Africa raised more than GBP 100m (USD 136 million) by selling franchises in its SA20 competition to Indian Premier League owners three years ago." The paper also reported that the ICC, currently run by former BCCI secretary Jay Shah, is unlikely to go against the wishes of the Indian board.

FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Inter vs River Plate live time and streaming
Two of football's most storied clubs, Inter Milan and River Plate, are set to clash for the first time in a pivotal FIFA Club World Cup group stage encounter. Inter Milan opened their campaign with a narrow win over Urawa Red Diamonds but looked far from the sharp side that reached the UEFA Champions League final just weeks ago. Despite the unconvincing performance, the Italian side remains in control of its knockout stage fate. River Plate, meanwhile, delivered a dominant display in their opening match against Monterrey but were left frustrated after a hard-fought stalemate. The Argentine powerhouse currently leads Group E but faces its toughest challenge yet against Inter. Inter team news Cristian Chivu's tenure as Inter Milan boss has gotten off to a shaky start. After a draw in their tournament opener against Monterrey, Inter narrowly edged past Urawa Red Diamonds thanks to a stoppage-time strike from Valentín Carboni in a must-win clash. Injuries have hampered the Nerazzurri's progress, with Marcus Thuram becoming the latest addition to their growing injury list. However, there's some relief on the horizon, as key players Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Davide Frattesi, and Denzel Dumfries are expected to return for this crucial encounter. Alessandro Bastoni is likely to be reinstated to the starting XI after being rested in the previous match, and veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan may make his first start of the tournament. With qualification on the line, Chivu is unlikely to take further risks with his selection—he needs a win to keep Inter's hopes of advancing alive. River Plate team news Marcelo Gallardo faces a significant challenge as his key midfielders Kevin Castaño, Enzo Pérez, and Giulano Galoppo are all suspended for the upcoming match against Inter Milan. El Muñeco will need to rethink his midfield options, likely turning to a makeshift trio of Matías Kranevitter, Nacho Fernández, and Rodrigo Aliendro, unless he opts to adjust the team's formation. Regardless, River's midfield strength will be notably weakened against the Serie A giants. On the left wing, Maxi Meza, who came on for the injured Sebastián Driussi in the previous game, is expected to retain his spot after Miguel Borja's underwhelming performance in the second half. Defensively, Los Millonarios have been dependable recently. Paulo Díaz has claimed the starting role over Germán Pezzella and, alongside Lucas Martínez Quarta, helped River keep a clean sheet in the second half against Monterrey. River Plate will be aiming to avoid the disappointment experienced by their rivals Boca Juniors and secure a place in the knockout stages with a strong performance against Inter.
