Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi is currently garnering praise for her dance number, Dil Thaam Ke in Rajkummar Rao's film Maalik. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Huma spoke about how she has been boxed into doing serious roles in Bollywood and shared her thoughts on item numbers being criticised for vulgarity and objectification of women. Huma Qureshi's still from her dance number Dil Thaam Ke from Maalik.
Talking about the criticism surrounding item songs, Huma said, "Kuch gaane hote bhi hain jo bahut male gaze waale gaane hote hain (There are some songs that are clearly male gaze-driven). Where you know there is objectification of women, and it's being done for a purpose. And as a woman, you get that feeling 'galat jagah aa gaye' ('I've ended up in the wrong place'). But as far as you are talking about the song which is celebrating the female form, her sensuality and glamour, there's nothing wrong with it."
Huma thinks that her choice of serious and intense roles at the beginning of her career stopped filmmakers from giving her a full-fledged dance number in films. She further talked about getting stereotyped and said, "I think why should people box me that you can only do intense film, you are only good or doing this. I am like, who made this rule? Why should I adhere to your idea of what I am good for? I can do this also and that too, and choose when I want to do what."
Apart from a special appearance in Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar's Maalik, Huma will next be seen in the movie Jolly LLB 3. The black comedy legal drama film, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, is the third instalment in the Jolly LLB series. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao, Saurabh Shukla, and Annu Kapoor. The film will see a face-off between Akshay and Arshad and is scheduled to release in theatres on September 19.

Prithviraj Sukumaran compares Kajol to Mohanlal, calls her a gifted actress: 'The greatest thing about collaborating with such actors is...'

Prithviraj Sukumaran recently praised Kajol 's acting and compared her to the great Malayalam actor Mohanlal . He stars alongside her in the upcoming film 'Sarzameen.' According to him, she is one of the most talented actors he has ever worked with, emphasising her capacity to create emotionally charged scenes with little outward show. Prithviraj Sukumaran on Kajol's acting brilliance and on-set camaraderie While promoting 'Sarzameen,' Prithviraj told Bollywood Bubble that Kajol's performance style reminded him of Malayalam icon Mohanlal. He described her ability to portray emotionally charged scenes with little to no effort as a unique and natural talent. He claims that even though Kajol does not use a lot of preparation, her performances are incredibly powerful and real. Further, he said, the Bollywood actress is an incredibly gifted actor and working with her was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Her energy on set is infectious, like a continuous jolt of caffeine, in the best way possible. That said, filming emotional scenes with her wasn't always easy. There's one in particular where her line goes, 'No matter how deeply a son may love his mother, he ultimately grows up to be his father. ' For some reason, they couldn't stop laughing during that moment, and director Kayoze Irani had all but "given up" on them. Still, it was a memorable experience for Prithviraj. "I've long admired her talent and truly hope we get the chance to work together again," he said. About Sarzameen 'Sarzameen' is an upcoming Hindi-language film which stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The film is directed by Kayoze Irani and is set to premiere on JioCinema on July 25, 2025. He praised Khan's relentless curiosity and ability to challenge norms, both in cinema and in thought. Prithviraj added that Aamir's presence in 'Sarzameen' as a producer upgraded the project, and working with him was creatively enhancing.

Prithviraj Sukumaran says Ibrahim Ali Khan deserved a Bollywood debut with Sarzameen, not Nadaaniyan: 'You will know why when you see the film...'

Prithviraj Sukumaran believes that Sarzameen would have been a more impactful debut for Ibrahim Ali Khan than Nadaaniyan. He praised Ibrahim's dedication and growth during the film's production, noting the unconventional nature of the role. Sukumaran also credited director Kayoze Irani for skillfully drawing out a layered performance from the newcomer. Prithviraj Sukumaran believes Sarzameen would have been a far more impactful launchpad for Ibrahim Ali Khan than Nadaaniyan. As the political thriller gears up for release, the actor opened up about working with Ibrahim on what was actually his first film, praising the newcomer's dedication, growth, and the unconventional nature of the role—one that, according to Prithviraj, would have made for a much stronger debut. Witnessing Ibrahim's Journey When asked about working with Ibrahim, Prithviraj told Bollywood Bubble that although the film is releasing after Nadaaniyan, it was actually Ibrahim's first project. He shared that he witnessed Ibrahim's journey from day one and praised the young actor's dedication, calling the effort he put in 'humongous.' Prithviraj added that he genuinely liked Ibrahim's performance, not just as a co-star or for promotional reasons, but from an objective standpoint. A Word of Advice Sukumaran further revealed that on the last day of Sarzameen's shoot, he encouraged Ibrahim Ali Khan to stay grounded and committed, acknowledging the hard work he had put into the film. He advised him that success in the industry doesn't make things easier and that consistent effort is key to growth. Prithviraj also noted that while Ibrahim comes from a privileged background, he's fully aware of the value of the opportunity and takes it seriously. Credit to the Director Concluding his thoughts, the actor credited director Kayoze Irani for skillfully drawing out a layered performance from Ibrahim Ali Khan by tapping into his personality and emotional depth. He called the script intriguing and shared that when he first read it, none of the actors—including Ibrahim or Kajol—had been cast. Over a two-year process, the casting fell into place. What intrigued Prithviraj most was how Sarzameen presented an unexpectedly offbeat debut for someone like Ibrahim—a choice that, in his view, would have made for a more compelling launch had it released before Nadaaniyan. About Sarzameen Sarzameen is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar , Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Star Studios, with Marijke deSouza and Somen Mishra serving as co-producers. The story and screenplay are written by Soumil Shukla and Arun Singh, while the dialogues are by Kausar Munir and Jehan Handa. Directed by Kayoze Irani, the film stars Ibrahim Ali Khan, Kajol , and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.
