In conjunction with the visit, Malaysia's Foreign Ministry, Wisma Putra, in a statement Wednesday said President Osmani will be accorded an official welcoming ceremony at the Perdana Putra in Putrajaya, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
'Discussions will centre on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges,' it said.
Wisma Putra said both leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and international matters of mutual interest including Malaysia's Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025.

In honour of Osmani and her delegation, comprising senior officials from Kosovo's Presidential Cabinet, Anwar will host an official luncheon at Seri Perdana.
Malaysia officially recognised Kosovo on October 30, 2008, becoming one of the first countries in Asia to do so.
Wisma Putra said diplomatic relations were formally established on March 18, 2011.
In 2024, total bilateral trade between Malaysia and Kosovo reached RM28.55 million (US$6.0 million), with Malaysia's exports to the republic valued at RM25.92 million (US$5.5 million) and imports at RM2.63 million (US$550,000).
Key Malaysian exports include palm oil, electrical and electronic products, and manufactured goods, while imports from Kosovo mainly consist of raw materials and semi-precious stones.

Najib betrayed public's trust, SRC International wants RM42mil back, says counsel
KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here was told on Friday (Aug 15) that former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak betrayed the public's trust by misusing SRC International Sdn Bhd's RM42mil that were meant to benefit Malaysia's energy future and civil service pensioners. Counsel Kwan Will Sen, representing SRC International and its subsidiary, Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd, in the RM42mil civil suit against Najib, stated that it has been ten years since the money ended up in Najib's personal accounts and now, the two companies want it back. He made these remarks while delivering the opening statement on the first day of trial in the civil suit filed in May 2022 by SRC International and Gandingan Mentari against Najib (the sole defendant). "Three courts namely the High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court, have already found him (Najib) criminally guilty of these very acts beyond a reasonable doubt. "Najib was the Finance Minister at the time and had full control over SRC International. He held key positions, including that of Advisor Emeritus. As such, no significant transaction occurred without his knowledge or consent," he said. Kwan also stated that the evidence will prove that the RM42mil was transferred from SRC International and ultimately ended up in Najib's personal bank accounts. Of this sum, RM32mil was immediately transferred to two companies that had previously covered shortfalls in Najib's accounts. "These transfers were made pursuant to instruction letters bearing his (Najib) personal signature. The remaining RM10mil was spent through personal cheques issued by Najib himself," he said. "We say that the money trail is clear, the documentary evidence is overwhelming, and Najib's own sworn admissions are damning. We will prove our case under three complementary causes of action; knowing receipt, dishonest assistance, and misfeasance in public office. "On any of these grounds, justice demands that these public funds be returned to their rightful owners - the Malaysian people," he insisted. The court on Friday heard testimony of the first witness, former chief executive officer (CEO) of Yayasan Rakyat 1Malaysia (YR1M), Ung Su Ling, 57, whose appointment was approved by Najib. The hearing before Judge Datuk Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah Raja Mohzan will continue on Nov 6. This lawsuit, filed in May 2022, accuses Najib of breach of fiduciary duties, knowing receipt of funds, dishonest assistance, tort of misfeasance and abuse of power in relation to the misappropriation of SRC International funds. - Bernama

Bursa Malaysia poised for gains after stronger-than-expected GDP growth in 2Q
KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia is poised for gains today after Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) announced that the Malaysian economy expanded by 4.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2025 (2Q 2025), equivalent to 4.4 per cent growth in the first half of 2025, said an analyst. The Malaysian economy expanded by 4.4 per cent in 2Q 2025, driven by robust domestic demand as household spending was higher. In 2Q 2024, the country's economy expanded by 5.9 per cent. The 2Q 2025 gross domestic product (GDP) growth was marginally above the consensus forecast of 4.3 per cent (UOB Kay Hian, Maybank Investment Bank, Hong Leong Investment Bank, and Bank Muamalat), though slightly below the 4.5 per cent advance estimate issued last month. At 12.30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slid 6.66 points to 1,574.39 from yesterday's close of 1,581.05. The benchmark index had opened 0.70 of a point firmer at 1,581.75 and moved between 1,571.19 and 1,581.79 throughout the morning trading session. Market breadth was negative with 508 losers outpacing 302 gainers, while 449 counters were unchanged, 1,313 untraded and seven suspended. Turnover stood at 1.11 billion units worth RM812.76 million. UOB Kay Hian Wealth Advisors Sdn Bhd's head of investment research, Mohd Sedek Jantan, said the 2Q 2025 GDP print released today reaffirmed the resilience of the domestic economy despite an increasingly uncertain global trade policy backdrop. He said the FBM KLCI opened softer at 1,581.75 and briefly touched 1,571.22 at 11.13 am, but sentiment is expected to stabilise and the index to recover as investors digest the stronger-than-expected GDP data. "Key domestic demand drivers were notably firm, with private consumption rising from RM257.65 billion in 1Q 2025 to RM263.18 billion in 2Q 2025, and gross fixed capital formation increasing from RM91.67 billion to RM97.67 billion over the same period. "These two components form the cornerstone of domestic growth and are poised to shape market direction in the near term,' he told Bernama. He emphasised that the sequential gains in both private consumption and gross fixed capital formation highlight the sustainability of Malaysia's economic momentum. "Taken together, these dynamics point to a durable growth trajectory and a constructive market outlook,' he said. Mohd Sedek said for investors, the data provide reassurance that domestic demand will remain a dependable engine for corporate earnings, thereby reducing reliance on more volatile external markets. "This resilience should continue to underpin equity valuations, particularly in consumer-oriented, construction, and infrastructure-linked sectors, while anchoring broader investor confidence in Malaysia's medium-term prospects,' he said. Among the heavyweights, Public Bank and CIMB added 1.0 sen to RM4.46 and RM7.21, respectively. Tenaga Nasional and IHH Healthcare eased 6.0 sen each to RM13.62 and RM6.84, while Maybank was flat at RM9.84. Among the most active counters, Tanco gained 1.0 sen to 73 sen, Oxford Innotech expanded 1.5 sen to 42.5 sen, Zetrix AI inched down half-a-sen to 89.5 sen, while TWL and Salutica were flat at 2.5 sen and 20.5 sen. Across the broader market, the FBM Emas Index slid 47.38 points to 11,713.54, the FBMT 100 Index trimmed 48.11 points to 11,495.61, the FBM Emas Shariah Index decreased 74.31 points to 11,634.14, and the FBM Mid 70 Index declined 67.24 points to 16,622.69, but the FBM ACE Index rose 30.34 points to 4,696.88. Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index rose 24.83 points to 18,075.36, the Plantation Index fell 66.12 points to 7,515.53, the Industrial Products and Services Index inched down 1.42 points to 157.52, and the Energy Index shaved 0.84 of a point to 738.65. - Bernama

Bank Negara maintains 2025 GDP forecast at 4-4.8% amid tariff talks uncertainty
Bank Negara governor Datuk Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has maintained its 2025 gross domestic product (GDP) projection of between 4.0 per cent and 4.8 per cent, taking into consideration a range of possible outcomes from tariff negotiations, said BNM governor Datuk Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour today. He said BNM has taken a tariff assumption of between 25 per cent and 30 per cent during tariff negotiations with the United States. "There is no need for us to revise the growth numbers. In terms of the balance of risk growth and gains, the completion of negotiations reduces the uncertainty. "But again, there is still uncertainty that lingers; in terms of the sectoral tariff, for example, and also in terms of the developments of discussions and negotiations with certain countries, which have not concluded yet,' he told reporters after announcing Malaysia's second quarter (2Q) economic growth here today. Earlier this month, the US imposed a reduced tariff of 19 per cent on Malaysian imports, effective Aug 1, 2025. The revised reciprocal rate is lower than the initially scheduled 25 per cent. According to a White House statement on July 31, the tariff changes will apply to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from a warehouse for consumption, on or after 12.01 am Eastern Daylight Time, seven days after the date of the order. Abdul Rasheed noted that Malaysia is now operating in an uncertain environment where changes occur quickly. "Under this kind of environment, forecasting is challenging. That is why we need an assumption that is strong enough for us to be able to capture possible growth rates for the country. So, 4.0 per cent to 4.8 per cent would probably capture the possibilities,' he added. On the overnight policy rate (OPR), Abdul Rasheed said the OPR was reduced to 2.75 per cent at the July 2025 Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting as a pre-emptive measure aimed at preserving Malaysia's steady growth path amid moderate inflation prospects. He noted that since then, BNM had seen some clarity in the external environment, particularly on the outcome of tariff negotiations recently, including for Malaysia. "In this regard, our recent OPR cut would provide an additional lift to domestic growth amidst moderate inflation prospects, and we will continue to monitor the effect,' Abdul Rasheed said, adding that Malaysia remains a strong economy. He said exports are expected to moderate in the second half of 2025, given the challenging external environment, but partly cushioned by the electrical and electronics (E&E) and tourism sectors. "We have seen front-loading activity in the first and second quarters of the year, but we have seen this slowing down. And that is why I hope for us that in the second half of the year, exports will be moderating because the economy is in place. Also, the impact of the tariff now starts to come into the picture,' said Abdul Rasheed. - Bernama
