Linda Robson's Loose Women fears amid brutal cuts at ITV - 'I'm praying'
Linda Robson says she's 'worried' about the future of Loose Women as ITV look to make huge savings across its daytime shows. In May it was revealed the much-loved panel show would be axed for half the year as bosses eyed up massive cuts in a bid to save millions.
Birds Of A Feather star Linda, who's appeared on the show for 20 years, says the threat to its future has left her 'praying' it doesn't get cancelled. 'We are all rallying together,' she said. It's been reported that when budget cuts come into effect in January it'll mean the show will no longer have A-list guests in the studio and their live audience will be a thing of the past.
There are growing fears the ITV staple could even be cancelled within a year. 'It will be very sad if we can't have guests,' sighed Linda, 67.
ITV is slashing the budgets of its biggest daytime shows including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning, including halving the number of jobs and significantly reducing the time some of them are on air. The cuts at ITV Studios, which makes all four shows, mean more than 220 of 440 staff involved will lose their jobs.
'It's a shame people are losing their jobs,' Linda went on. 'We're all like a family. We've been together through births, marriages, deaths. It's been very hard. Everyone's worried about the show. We're just trying to stay positive and hope for the best. But hopefully it's not going be as bad as it already is.'
The show features a rotating panel of presenters who debate hot topics, big issues and the news of the day. It's welcomed huge names on as guests like supermodel Naomi Campbell and singer Janet Jackson.
Running since 1999, it is filmed in front of a live studio audience - although recent reports suggest that this has now been cut and will be implemented next year. ITV haven't confirmed the move.
Fellow Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalha previously told how everyone was now fearing for their jobs. 'What people don't realise at Loose Women is that we're self-employed,' she explained.
'I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow. I could be let go in five years. You don't know because we're not employees.'
Looking back at her time on the long-running show - famous for debating debate hot topics, big issues and the news of the day - Linda explained why she's been perfect for the panel.
'I've got a loose mouth,' she laughed on the red carpet of the National Reality TV Awards in London. 'I'm always getting told not to swear in my ear. They try and stop me from doing it. I'm under Baggy Mouth in the group chat.'

As she faced the prospect of being convincted for the crime, Lady Leshurr, whose real name is Melesha O'Garro, lost out on all of her income. Her record deal disappeared and both the BBC and ITV dropped her from their payroll but as the star prepares to make a TV comeback on Celebrity SAS after being acquitted of the crime she was accused of, The Sun takes a look back at her rise to the top and her sudden fall from grace. Musical Beginnings 9 The star was achieving tens of millions of views on her rap hits in the late 2010s Credit: Alamy Lady Leshurr began to make waves on the Birmingham underground music scene with her rap tracks in the early 2010s. She began to release mixtapes that caught the attention of music heavyweights as her following began to grow. However, it wasn't until 2015 when she gained mainstream recognition with her Queen's Speech freestyles. The tracks were a unique look on UK rap music and often featured comedic phrases and humorous lines and saw Leshurr rack up tens of millions of views. The fourth instalment of the franchise became her biggest hit after going viral within 24 hours of its release and it saw the star land a major record deal with Sony Music. She went on to release her first official single with Wiley which became an instant hit and she soon picked up the MOBO Award for Best Female Act and toured with Nicki Minaj. TV Superstar 9 The star was a popular Loose Women panellist Credit: ITV Off the back of her rising star power, she caught the attention of the TV world and she soon found her diary was filling up with countless big-money offers to join a slew of different shows. Lady Leshurr is crowned as the winner of The Celebrity Circle for Stand Up To Cancer She took part in the BBC's Celebrity MasterChef in 2020 as well as joining ITV's Maya Jama led panel show, Don't Hate The Playaz, for four series. At the same time, she was handed a prestigious contract to become the face of beauty brand Olay, following in the footsteps of Twiggy and Sarah Hyland. In 2021 she was crowned the winner of Channel 4's only edition of The Celebrity Circle in which she catfished as rapper Big Narstie to win the title beating stars including Denise Van Outen, Duncan James, Charlotte Crosby and Saffron Barker. The BBC then hand-picked her to host her own music show on BBC Radio 1Xtra presenting on Saturday afternoons as well as choosing her to be a music mentor on its latest talent show Rock Till We Drop alongside Spandau Ballet legend, Martin Kemp. Desperate for a piece of the action, ITV booked the star to take part in Dancing on Ice and soon handed her a spot on the Loose Women panel. Star Arrested 9 The star was led away by cops after being accused of an early house assault Whilst she appeared to have every dream gig under the sun, and with the promise of brand new music on the way, Lady Leshurr found her world and career turned upside down when she was arrested for assault. In October 2022, the rapper and songwriter was seen being led away by cops in handcuffs at 5am following a fight outside a house in Walthamstow, East London. Witnesses said neighbours were woken up by a 'a screaming match' between Lady Leshurr and two other women. Cops said a 27-year-old woman was found with injuries but did not need hospital treatment. Video footage released at the time showed the rapper, dressed in a white sports bra and wearing a baseball cap, being put in cuffs and led to a police van by two cops. She was charged a day later on two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The star soon found herself axed from both her BBC Radio 1Xtra show and Loose Women as well as having her social media endorsements pulled and no backing in the furthering of her music career. Trial Hell 9 The star lost out on all career opportunities during her trial Credit: BBC A court went on to be told how Lady Leshurr had been accused of attacking her ex-partner Sidnee Hussein as well as Chante Boyea. However, a judge later cleared her and found her not guilty on two counts of assault. She told the court Chante had attacked her first before instructing her her Belgian Malinois security dog Toby as a "weapon" to injure her. Following the conclusion of the trial, the star spoke out on Instagram to confirm she had not made a single penny since being dropped from every work obligation she had been signed up to do. She said: "For the past year I've been battling a court case from people that accused me of stalking, harassing, and biting them but I was the victim. "I was attacked and bitten by a dog and made out to be the aggressor." She also stressed she felt her career had been "ruined regardless of the outcome". Jack Osbourne reflects on childhood with dad Ozzy in first TV appearance since his death
Cooking with the Stars contestant Jack Osbourne spoke about his late dad Ozzy Osbourne on the first episode of the new series, which aired earlier tonight on ITV The late Ozzy Osbourne was mentioned by his son Jack Osbourne during a TV appearance that aired tonight. He spoke about his late father whilst competing on Cooking with the Stars. Jack is among the celebrity contestants on the new series of the ITV show. He competed in the first episode, which aired this evening, just over a week after it was announced that Ozzy had died, aged 76. Speaking about his experience with food growing up, he told host Emma Willis whilst making risotto on the show: "There was a lot of Birdseye Potato Waffles." Following surprise from the presenter, he added: "Because I was here until I was 12 and then we went to America [and] it was all take out." He continued: "We'd go through bouts of having a chef but everyone's such ... very picky eaters so chefs don't usually last long in our house. Because all of a sudden my dad's like 'no, I don't like it anymore' even though it's like some amazing chef." Last week, Jack and some of his family announced that musician Ozzy had died, just weeks after he performed in a farewell gig alongside his band Black Sabbath. Sharon Osbourne and four of Ozzy's children issued a joint statement. It read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." Jack competed against reality TV star Jess Wright on Cooking with the Stars tonight. The episode also saw former EastEnders cast member Natalie Cassidy take on radio host Jordan North in the kitchen.

The cause of death has not been confirmed, but it's known that the Black Sabbath frontman had been battling Parkinson's disease since February 2019, which significantly impacted his health in recent years. As they grapple with their loss, Ozzy's youngest son, Jack, is set to return to television just days after his father's passing, as he competes in the fifth series of ITV's celebrity cooking competition, Cooking with the Stars. The show, hosted by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, was pre-recorded before Ozzy's untimely death. Jack will compete against a host of celebrities including Love Island star Ekin-Su, EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy and former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips. Each celebrity is paired with a culinary expert who guides them through each round. However, those with the lowest scores face a cook-off and receive no help from their mentors, who can only watch from the sidelines. In a cruel twist, the mentors of those in the bottom two will have to participate in a blind taste test to decide who progresses to the next round, potentially sending their own protege home. Throughout Ozzy's life, unbeknownst to many, the rockstar actually fathered six children, meaning that Jack has five other siblings - not just Kelly, who is widely recognised as his sister from their time together on MTV's At Home with the Osbournes. Before Sharon and Ozzy tied the knot, the Black Sabbath legend had been previously married. He met his first wife Thelma Riley in a Birmingham nightclub before they exchanged vows and welcomed two biological children together, Jessica, 53, and Louis, 50. Ozzy would later adopt Elliot and raise him as his own. However, the three children do not have fond childhood memories with their daredevil father and in a 2011 documentary (produced by Jack Osbourne) when Ozzy is asked about Louis and Jessica's birthdays, he fails to remember when each of them were born. In the same series, Louis revealed details about growing up with Ozzy: "When he was around and he wasn't [drunk], he was a great father. But that was kind of rare, really. I just have a lot of memories of him being drunk, random s**t like driving cars across fields and crashing them in the middle of the night and stuff like that. "It's not good for family life, really," he explained in the documentary. His elder sister, Jessica also remarked: "I don't remember being put to bed or having a bath by dad or anything like that. I wouldn't say he was there for us, no, never on sports day, school trip, parents' evening. He wasn't like that, no." Twelve months later, they had their first daughter Aimee on September 2nd 1983, followed by their second daughter Kelly on October 27, 1984. They eventually had their youngest child, Jack on November 8, 1985. Whilst many admirers know two of Sharon and Ozzy's offspring - Jack and Kelly - Aimee chose to stay out of the spotlight when the former X Factor panellist decided to allow MTV's cameras into her house. Refusing to participate in filming, she left the family residence in the early 2000s to follow her own musical ambitions, performing under her initials ARO. In a previous chat with the Independent, she looked back on her choice to step away. She confessed to the magazine: "Back then, I still felt I was trying to figure out who I was in the chaos of family life, so why on earth would I want that portrayed on television? I wanted to protect myself, my parents, my siblings, too. They were very young, very impressionable." In a 2008 interview with the same publication, Aimee defended her decision, saying: "I'm not some weirdo depressed daughter that's afraid of the world and locks herself in her room all day. I just didn't choose to do the show. I want to be a singer, and I felt if I'd stayed with the Osbournes and done the whole thing I would have been typecast right away. "[Sharon] was hurt, and we definitely had a tough time with disagreements. I'm more reserved and my private life is very important." Discussing her relationship with Aimee on the Dax Shepard podcast, Kelly admitted: "We don't talk. We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her."
